Did Blizzard ever say that there will only be 4 Acts? I would hope for more (and not just waiting for an expansion). Seven is lucky in the west, eight is lucky in China (fours is actually unlucky).
A boss with a whip wraps it around your neck and you begin to swell up. Your clothes and armor pop off and you become a big balloon... and the boss hands you off to junior who has been waiting in the wings. Careful of those spikes....
Alternatively, with a boss spell you could just shrink to a little doll for junior to play with... and get your little doll head pulled off.
Dicho Card... very interesting. Do you have insight as to various CPUs as well? While I could probably wait to upgrade, my current computer has several issues that just cause headaches, so it's likely that I'll go ahead and get a new system sometime before Feb (depends on the holiday sales, etc... and since I'm now a student again for a semester, I can get a discount on Dell and a few other vendors).

In other system related whatnot, I'm not happy with ASUS. Trying to get an appropriate BIOS update is not quite unlike threading a needle while both blindfolded and riding in an ATV accross the outback. Anyone have any thoughts about MSI, Gigabyte, or another motherboard manufacturer?
The announcement I wanted most out of Blizzcon was a release date... but that was perhaps overly optimistic of me.
The announcement I wanted second most was the system requirements. I've been dying to replace my crappy ASUS computer (never again until you start winning blue ribbon awards for system support) for two years now.
Think how good it would be for the economy if even 20% of the people who are waiting for D3 bought a new computer... doesn't Blizzard want to help out the economy? Surely now that there are four characters, and lots of acts, quests, and a virtual ton of different visual effects, the designers know what will work best (optimal if not minimal).

Thanks for the monk announcement... please don't limit his weapons too much. The club, but not mace business for the druid was, politely, undesireable.
Personally, even if they won't give an actual release date, I think Blizzard should release minimum and ideal requirments for D3. It would be good for the economy 'cause I'm not buying a new computer (and I desperately need to) until I find out what they are.
If D3 still hasn't released by this time next year, they could probably sell out a BlizzCon East and West (of the Mississippi of course) or a BlizzCon Europe or all three :-)
For example... say we want to try a new barbarian character, but don't want to wade through the first Act, will we be able to set up an advanced start (presumably we would just have character and skill points to distribute and gold to furnish ourselves via the town).
Just a note to say that Diii.net has screen pics from Leipzig... and that I'll miss the potions. The globes just seem like a hassle, and you can't sell them!
IMO, I think it's a mistake to name the classes anything special and more of a mistake to make us keep calling them that. I think we should just choose a character from and image as we did in the LOD and then we name it both in terms of class and formal/given name.
Thus we wouldn't be stuck with "witch doctor" and could instead choose from a menu of names: shaman, voodoo priest, etc. (for the "barbarian" we could instead have a choice of say: viking, bandit, hero, vandal, or even hooligan... note, it might mean that Blizzard comes up with different names for the NPC discussion, no more generic "welcome hero" ).
Customization would be so much better than being stuck with a name that we don't really feel reflects the type of character we want to create (for example, I think a voodoo priest might be fun, but don't feel like bragging to friends that I have a lvl 40 witch doctor).
Think about it... in later mods we might even be able to have special skills available only if we choose a given name. That would be sweet. On the downside, even without the special skill part, Blizzard would have to find a way to describe the class specific items. But then again, maybe not. It might involve some trial and error to find out a Rogue couldn't use a wand (or maybe just the spell portion of a wand), but that would be a bit like real life; pick it up and see what's grayed out.
I really don't know anything about game development, but I'm wondering what others think...
Is it a good sign that there are fewer D3 job openings listed than WoW listings? Based on the titles of the positions, could D3 arrive before the Litch King?
Truthfully, I'm a little tired of this topic. But since I'm still reading it while waiting for the next Blizzard news release...
I think there should be:
A character that commands the weather and changes shape - sort of combining the Druid's nature based skills with the Sorceress' blizzard and thunderstorm skills. Little to no fire skills here, except of course Warm to regenerate mana.
I also see a character that creates magical damage and heals - thus we have magic bolts, something that has the effect of Static Charge, etc. coupled with healing and offensive auras. Perhaps a few fire skills here, but no meteor, hydra, or such, maybe fire wall or enchant (even though I thought enchant was largely useless). This character would be stronger than the first, nature based character, perhaps more like the Iron Wolves of Act 3, with swords more common than staves.
The third character I see is more along the Amazon and Assassin combination, with a few of the Paladin attack skills thrown in. Hopefully no traps though. Traps just didn't seem that, well, real (as if hurling fireballs is) as it would take a long time to set up a trap. This character would have to specialize in either ranged or up close melee and would have to specialize in the effect (cold, heat, etc.) that goes along with their selected weapons. Thus no fire arrow, but having to specialize separately into bow skills and fire damage. Thus you would be able to respec without too much difficulty into another type of damage or another type of weapon, but not both.

If they do keep the numbers, I'm wondering if we will see them go down as items become damaged and in need of repair.
