Hey everyone! Just sharing a neat trick I found on the PTR that carried over to live 2.1!
If you use the weapon "skywarden" and leave it on until you get all three laws, they will not fall off, EVEN if you switch weapons! This gives a pretty decent buff to your dmg and toughness.
Im not really sure that mantras are "OP". They are good, but I think having faster clear time is much better. The goal is the clear rifts as fast as possible.
This is a work in progress and will be updated regularly! I am currently farming Torment 1 to Torment 3 in hardcore
- - Lets get the out of the way first. I stream regularly at www.twitch.tv/ggrimace. If you want to see this in action, come hang! - -
The monk has always been my favorite character. Instead of heavy armor and great swords, the monk relies on mastery of his body to dominate foes in combat. THAT'S SO FREAKING COOL. Lately though, i've been really bummed with my monk. Too much toughness, or not enough spirit, or not enough sustain.... once I got one thing down, something else came up.
I found that, generally, you either have greatsingletarget damage (Lashing tail kick) or great AOE (cyclone strike). You can't really have both because of the spirit issues. Epiphany solves those issues. Massive toughness AND spirit regen PLUS CC immunity?? Yes please.
Everysuccessful planhas a clearly defined objective. Our objective is to clear rifts as fast as possible. This IS the best way to farmlegendary items.
Ccool down reduction really makes this build work.Go for as much cool down reduction as reasonable. (Reasonable depends on your current needs. Don't sacrifice too much toughness or DPS)
Spirit > DPS. More Spirit = more Lashing tail kicks/Cyclone strikes = more dmg
Skills
Deadly Reach -scatteredblows
Arguably the best spirit generator in the game. It's been discussed several times in the forms.
Dashing strike - way of the falling star The move speed on this is wonderful. Also because F**K YOUR WALLS!
Lashing Tail kick -Scorpion sting Synergy with the light build. Possible to stun lock most anything GREAT single target dps
Cyclone strike - Eye of the storm Possibly THE best skill for clearing trash mobs.
Sweeping wind - cyclone More synergy with the light build. Activate it once and keep it up as long as you can. Much value, many damage, wow.
Epiphany - Dessert shroud OR inner fire depending on your needs. Toughness or more damage. Whatever you need
Passives These are constantly changing depending on my gear/needs.
One witheverything -Ok i lied. This never changes.Ever.
Trancendence -Makes epiphany even more valuable. Spirit now does dmg AND heals. Also,I need some sustain.
Seize the initiative -Im playing HC. We dont yolo in HC. I dont want to die.
Near Death Experience -Some times, Epiphany is on cool down and you get frozen and walled in 5 arcane beams. Once (if) I can get epiphany on low enough cool down where it is up every couple seconds, i'll remove this.
Feedback is appreciated! Much testing to still be done!
Stuck on where to go from here. I can kinda farm act 2, but it gets hairy sometimes What should I be upgrading? Any tips, advise, perfect dex skorns are appreciated
on the real note I'm extremely suprised a Blue would supply a link to a page showing brief nudity, even though it is in the name of art, rather interesting.
It seems that there is a VERY easy way to fix this Magic Find situation.
Release new items with high magic find, and slightly nerfed other stats.
You'll be forced to be much more careful, but the reward will justify the risk. You can use your DPS/Survival gear to progress quickly (or PVP), and then your MF gear to farm.
It took weeks to level in D2 and thats something I greatly enjoyed. You're hard work showed when you were the ONLY level 99 out of your friends.
lolol. It took a single dedicated night and maybe another 2 hours the next day to "level" is d2. By level I mean get high enough to wear all your toons end game gear, 75-85 range. Hitting 99 is pointless and by no standard a core part of the game.
99 is there so autistic children have a repetative motion to occupy their time. But good job beating your friends with your "hard work" aka no working job at all.
As I stated in my original post, if blizz just opened a longer/larger beta these issues could have been addressed. I love the game, and most of the mechanics. I just hate how unfinished it feels.

I found a neat trick you can do with "Greed" the goblin rift boss. You can get as many gems and gold as you want!
Come see it in action!

You can watch me doing this trick on my stream! http://www.twitch.tv/ggrimace

Goals
65+ CDR | Max Fire skills % dmg
Must have skills
Epiphany - inner fire
Tempest rush - Tailwind or northern breeze (depending on your spirit situation.
Mantra of conviction - Annihilation
Beacon of Ytar
How the Build works
Tempest rush + Epiphany inner fire is just too much fun. Walk into rift. Activate Epiphany. Tempest rush until everything is dead. Repeat.
You don't want too much attack speed with this build. It will drain your spirit faster when tempest rushing.

11.6 mill in SC gold to trade. 4:1 seems the going ratio. Add me. Grimace#1947

While I agree with the focus on crit and dex, you ABSOLUTELY need vit and resistance. Things are GOING to hit you, you need to be able to survive.
So many ignorant trolls out tonight. -__- sigh.
