New stats priority - beside the usual survival stats, get as much IAS as you can in all the slots, elite % damage, physical % damage.
The build is a evolution from the support monk build. Basically, cyclone pull white mob over, EP a few of them, then poke with Rimehard to kill 1 of them to kill the rest of the pack with the explosion. The chain explosion will kill all champion and elite packs -- if not, drag them to more white mobs and repeat.
It is a build where your profile DPS doesn't matter. High IAS and use of WotHF/Fist of Fury is the key to the build. Frostburn proc often enough to give you the necessary safety in T6, and Rimeheart proc often enough to kill white mob to trigger nuclear explosion and kill the rest.
The final weapon you will need to complete the T6 Rift run is the Furnace (The Furnace - Game Guide - Diablo III). If you don't have this, you may need to call for the Rift it Forward community to help you kill the Rift Guardian.

Time to Rise for the Monk!
So, maybe I'm missing something? Perhaps the formula isn't considering something it should, or, perhaps it's considering something it shouldn't?
Aside from all the particulars, I'm not sure of the point? If one wishes to know what MP they are optimal for....well.....play the game and you'll find out. I don't need a "tool" to tell me if I'm having difficulty, so I'm thinking this tool needs something else to make it relevant.
I don't think the tool is suggesting what MP you character is capable of doing. Anyone with sufficient EHP and sustainable life regen setup can do max MP10 if they want too.
However, you can, doesn't mean you should. Be it legendary farming or demonic essence farming, sometime, downgrading a few MP will yield more effective result. Especially if you are planning to farm for long hours... instead of stressing yourself with constant repositioning and kiting from environment damage in higher difficulty, playing at lower MP is much more relax.
You missed out Andariel Visage helm in the legendary section. This is a true BiS in term of max DPS for poison monk, or monk that don't need the resist stats from that slow.
For non socket version, it can go up to 250+dex, 9 IAS, and 4.5 crit .. For socket version, i think the dex capped out at 169
Just need to shop for one that has 5-6% fire debuff..
LS take up an important magic property slot on a weapon. If you choose to drop it, you can opt for a weapon with an open socket (70-100% extra crit damage depending on the gem), or 50-70 crit damage.
Assuming equal DPS weapon, LOH (800+) weapons are generally at least 3 times more expensive than a 3% LS version, which are at least 5-7 times more expansive than a weapon with neither LOH nor LS.
LOH is King. If you can afford the price, go with high LOH build. You will survive much better in multiplayer game, and perhaps the 8-player difficult game in 1.0.5
LS weapons allow you to push higher DPS without burning a big hole in your pocket (be it RMAH, or mindlessly grind for more gold), while still provide the needed survivability as you farm. The LS from Cyclone damage can also heal you while you are frozen or fear (something which LOH weapon can't do)
As you start pushing pass 100K DPS, you may need to make more sacrifice to buy weapon with no LS/LOH, unless you have really deep pocket. At sufficiently high DPS, you can kill mob fast enough (in single player game), and just rely on healing orb to top your HP up.
The game is about progression. There's reason to be happy with 50k DPS when you can push for 100k, 150k, and eventually 300K DPS.
More often than not, those big healing numbers are from healing globe that you picked up instead of LS.
For the OP, you can consider shopping for a 800+ dps weapon with the following search filter: "crit damage = 50", "dex = 100", "life steal = 2.5", has sockets
Use a DPS calculator, and find something with at least 5k DPS upgrade that is within your budget
Thanks for all the reply. I manage to get a 1K dps Echoing Fury with socket to replace one of my weapon. My LS drop from 5.8 to just 2.8 now, but my character sheet DPS gone up by almost 10k.
Done a few runs of A3 and are doing okay. Dying only to Succubus horde minion with molten, as the LS is just not enough to keep the healing up. However, they can be easily overcome by some kiting, and waiting on serenity timer or letting follower finishing them up.
Next, I will probably picked up a 700+ DPS Won Khim Lau to test out if I can completely do away with LS.
I would like to hear from some of the monks that no longer have life steal or LOH in their gear, and purely rely on Health globe to replenish their health.
At what DPS (character sheet) did you do the switch? And how viable is it during the usual A3 farm? Do you still die occasionally from bad combo, say Horde Range minion with Molten affix?
Dropping life steal/loh stats on weapon open one more weapon choice without burning too big a hole in the pocket.
I will vote Occultist as the most annoying pack for 1.0.4
Blizzard gave their yellow shield a stealth buff with some uber damage reduction. While the pack on its own is still fairly easy (although still annoying for melee), they can buff other champion packs near by (phasebeast?) and make them extra hard to deal with.
From my own experience, I couldn't quite farm A3 effectively when I had 33K dps, 950 resist all, 5600 armor (unbuffed and no follower), 1500 LOH. Sure, I could clear A3 using the more defensive oriented skill, such as Deadly Reach with Keen Eyes or Crippling Wave with Concussion, but it is not really worth the time and effort.
Few nights ago, a 900 LOH weapon drop for me, I replace that for my OH (which has 280 dex/280 vit but no LOH). My DPS drop to 28K or so. But the new weapon immediately help me put A3 on farm status. While the low dps (i don't have much crit chance item yet) means I take a little longer to kill stuff, I have no problem standing in plague, fire chains, and molten while fisting the champions with FoT.
Pretty much only get kill from being chain fear, and perhaps Demon Tremors with fast + electrified now.
Core build is still a zDPS build. You stack your EHP/LOH/Armor/Resist to be able to stand in T6 packs.
But life changes from support to Super Saiyan after you acquire the following items:
Rimeheart (Rimeheart - Game Guide - Diablo III)
Frostburn (Frostburn - Game Guide - Diablo III).
Azturrasq as OH: (The Fist of Az'Turrasq - Game Guide - Diablo III)

Couldn't replace anything close to the same stats from AH for the last 2 weeks

1. Don't play on wireless keyboard/mouse. You never know when the battery is running low and the keyboard/mouse stop responding.
2. Do disable your Keyboard Window key, so the start menu don't pop-up when you got swamped by the champions/minions.
