As with all of them, the Sin War is first. The next four books you can read in any order, although it's suggested that you read The Kingdom of Shadow before Moon of the Spider. Personally, Legacy of Blood was my favorite.
Are you suggesting a full, open world? If so, this has already been discussed time and time again. Simply put, we don't know. Most likley though, it is still the same Act system as Diablo II. Although, I think it would be great to have Mad's idea, yet it would effect the storyline far too much.
I remember the chaos when Diablo III was finally announced. Truthfully, I did come straight here after hearing the news from a friend of mine, although the site was taking far too much than it could handle at the point. I also remember when the avatars and signatures were taken down, along with the complaining of various ignorant users who didn't understand the definition of 'Bandwidth". I also remember explaining it to them many, many times.
Although, I stopped posting shortly after Diablo 3 came out, mostly due to involvement with another forum, but I never stopped lurking around here.
I would think that Blizzard would be a little more complex than just basic "Bad guy, Good guy". Their stories are filled with betrayal and long, complex, and understand-only-at-the-end plans. Especially Diablo. Whatever they have in store, I just know it's gonna blow my mind when I figure it all out. That's what I love about Blizzard...
I loved that jornal you put in there, it really is in the "Diablo" style. I can't wait to hear more from Sebastian Gray. One thing caught my mind though, when you said, "I'm currently resting at the Rising Sun Inn, which looks like the only building that managed to survive in the wake of the dark hero's passing". It confused me, I thought the Rising Sun Inn was destroyed in Diablo II when you returned to Tristram.
So, although I didn't actually see a definitive update or news flash from Blizzard, I think there is enough evidence in the similarities between the demon named Diablo in the diorama and the thing in the trailer to at least pose some conjecture. Or questions, as the case may be.
1st: How in the burning hells did Diablo escape the abyss? Did he get assistance (ie the diablo wiki explanation of the ubers
2nd: If Diablo and his brothers just pop out of the abyss after 20 years (practically nothing in Great Conflict Time) what was the point of smashing the soulstones anyway? If he's back so quickly wouldn't it have been better just to go bury the soulstones again (last time it took them about 300 years to physically manifest)?
I guess the real point here is Blizzard just threw up one mess of a hurdle lore-wise. Guess I gotta buy the game to see how they clear it.
The whole "Uber Diablo" shit isn't cannon. Blizzard confirmed that.
The video SUCKED. Way to dull and uninteresting. It was like playing Diablo on a 1920's TV. I mean, I liked Diablo 1, I've played and beaten it on single player, but I say the first game was a little too dark. Come on, they had to have little outlines on the monsters to see them. You couldn't really appreciate the monsters, and some of the landscapes, artwork when it was too dark to even see them.
Looks badass. But the whole "First person Lore" stuff is very similar to Darkfall's Lore page, and they've had that up much longer before Diablo 3 was announced. I'd imagine Blizzard got the Idea from them...
Anyway, but this creature looks very Diabloish. He has that dark, creepy style that I've loved for many years. Good work Blizzard.

Shit, is that a new cinematic I see? Damnit, I should've gone to Blizzcon..
I would rather have a real name like Khara or Lethora.

I really don't expect to win, but its worth a shot.
4th Screenshot. I think it looks perfect.
