Except enemies still are not pulled to your location with consistency. I can not for the life of me figure out what determines if an enemy gets left behind when you charge and what enemy gets pulled with you. It just seems so arbitrary.
I seem to be running into the same problem myself.. but i don't know if its the skill itself, or the fact that i am playing with 300 ping, which is making FC so sluggish.
In any-case this build have the potential for some serious damage output once properly optimized.. Like if you checkout the blue pack at 1min and 33 sec into the video, i 3-hit that shait in under 2 seconds
Oh and i put on some CDR just to make BTLightDash happy :-)
Ps. You cant really compare the cleartime of the rift between the live server and ptr, since on live the "rift counter" goes by enemies killed, while on the PTR it uses health points "killed".
How does the 'improved pathfinding' work compared to what we have now? Does FC sometimes still just stop on 1st enemy hit or on random invisible obstacles?
Well you could just watch the video and see for yourself.. But the pathing is working pretty good, the only problem now is to play with 300 ping.
As you can see from the video, as long as the density is good (or you have a pull monk) FC does some sick aoe damage. But as you also see, this build struggles vs isolated elites/rift guardians.
I haven't had time to test this build is a solo g-rift, but i suspect the build can be a little squishy there..
Rate or hate, or simply ask your questions below :-)
So its back to the CotA + HotA one button action build for me QQ
But i managed to recored a full group t6 rift, so i have something at least to reminisce back to, which i may just as-well release:
My last full group recording of the stronk rend - t6 rift in under 3min and 30sec, no conduit @ http://youtu.be/An2HYtM2SNI
Although i find it pretty funny they choose to gimp rend back to it useless state, while other classes had no problems doing even 2times the EDPS, while only using 1 hand, with the monitor turned 90 degrees and humming to the A-team tune..
* CM looks into barb forums, sees a 12 page long thread about barbs having fun*
CM#1 "Looks like we have a code 43 in progress!"
CM#2 "It can't be, we killed this WW/Rend spec. Unholy abomination! How is this possible?!?!"
CM#1 "I'm telling you there are genuine posts of delight and enjoyment in that thread, IT MUST BE STOPPED"
CM#2 "Quick! Assemble your best bug fix team STAT. Deploy on my mark 3, 2, 1......."
So today i was finally done with my workweek, and had some time to refine the build.
And i have also recorded a "group" t6 rift somewhat, as it we only were two players. But in anycase, it shows the synergy between this build and a EP monk
Total damage done = 48.7 b damage
Average dps over the entire rift = 151.7 m dps
And the good thing about this rend build, is also that it kinda scales with burst damage in groups.
Like if a WD/Crusader instagibb a target you have put rend on, bloodbath procs.. Then the bloodbath rend get applied to all the monsters around the enemy that got blown up.
And the its the "dot" + arena damage mechanic that really does damage, because if area damage procs, it does atleast half of the total rend damage instantly in aoe.
Thats why you can see whole packs of white mobs blow up even in solo play.
I will link a other movie that i recored pre RoS, showing the exact same mechanic.
As i don't want to write a new essay over here, i gonna copy my post from a thread* at the US forum as normal, and link to all the relevant information.
Hmm this looked fun so i threw together a rend barb with leftover gear in my stash, as i don't dare to re-roll my main gear if this rend change is "unintended.."
This is how my run looked like: (edit, gonna gather all my videos of the rend build here)
My last full group recording of the stronk rend - t6 rift in under 3min and 30sec, no conduit @ http://youtu.be/An2HYtM2SNI
Diablo 3 RoS: Testrun of the new 2.0.6 rend build, T6 rift in ~6mins without unity @ http://youtu.be/JiBAwc72S4Q
Right now iam pretty fond of the new and improved rend***, so i have to experiment more with it
The main difference between this build, and the one zapro** showcased earlier is that i was running without unity, so this version its ready for group play.
And i was running Chilaink's (group ready) instead of Harrinton manly because, i feel like the trash dies from 1 rend anyway. so there is no need for the extra damage there. So i rather have to live this the occasional 1-5sec longer kill-time vs elites. And i like to move fast (although this was a bad map to showcase it.
The Warzechian is kinda a given as i don't really have anything to proc the strongarms with..
2.0.6 REND
7545 strength
35% crit chance
+450% crit damage
1694 average MH weapon damage
In patch 2.0.5, Rend´s ability to crit was removed. Instead, crit chance and crit damage were directly included in calculating its damage.
Expected Mutilate damage per tick based on patch 2.0.5 changes = 1694 * 76.45 * (1 + 0.35*4.5) * 0.4 = 133,391.489
Actual ingame values in patch 2.0.6:
> damage tick reflected on monster health bar numbers = 133,392 (12 frames, non-crit)
> damage tick reflected on monster health bar numbers = 733,656 (12 frames, crit)
> damage tick displayed above monster = 533,566 (48 frames, crit)
>damage tick displayed above monster = 2,934,613 (48 frames, crit)
Conclusion: Rend is now able to crit again on top of crit mod*** being included in its damage calculation. This means that a crit Rend benefits from crit damage twice (squared). A similar behavior was confirmed in the past for certain weapon procs like Odyn Son, Bul-Kathos´s Oath and Maximus fire chain. The only difference between these calculations is that Rend doesn´t benefit from attack speed at all while the aforementioned item procs do (aps is also directly included in their damage calculation instead of affecting their tick frequency).
***crit mod = 1 + crit chance/100 * crit damage/100
It is unclear whether this is an intended change to make the skill competitive again or just a "bug" byproduct of making the Rend damage bonus on gear work again.
On a related note, i think diablofans.com have really taken a dive under these last 3-4 months in regards to what "news" they post on their frontpage..
Could just aswell take the builds from the Reddit "Random Build Challenge" and post them as guides.. Would be just as effective as those shown lately among other things :-)
You guys still haven't cracked whats going on in the video, and the gear/build you see on my profile is not what was used in the video (some spells/items was changed)
If you don't believe me, go ingame and and summon call of the ancients and see how hard they hit compared to those in the video..
The build shown is basically zapro'sYOLO spec taken one step further, allowing you to farm with it.
*edit'
Since i have spilled the beans on a other forum as a poster said above, i guess i can explain it here also
hey detox are you running fire rune on ancients because you have a WD proccing health globes non stop and using reapers fear?
just wondering how you manage fury if you dont use ancients fury. i know reapers is not enough unless some sort of scenario where globes are dropping non stop.
lmk!
Bingo
[quote]...
Guess you have to wait for zapro's one-liner
I don't want to take any credit away from you. I think you should explain it yourself, it's your build after all.
I'm sure people want to find out how to get a pocket 0-dog Witch Doctor to keep you alive and give you resource. Or how high the mob extra damage debuff given by other party members needs to be to allow 50-80 million crits. Stuff like that.
Well this is basically your YOLO spec taken one step further with the help of a witch doctor, so i kinda feel i should have credited you in the video.
[quote="125038760570"]i dont mean to brag or anything bro but im doing more dps than u with my throw barb build. 35 mil crits on elites with jagged edge. with ruthless it goes up to 50 mil. with insanity it goes up to 71 mil. thats not even with rampage buff like in your screenshots. i might make a video soon.
iam looking forward to that
In the meantime you can checkout the real single target dps output from this build/group setup.
Please note that this is a 24/7 rift farming spec (exact same as shown in video), if i wanted to make a YOLO speedkill spec, the numbers would be around 300-400mil edps as zapro have shown in his videos..
Maybe you would like to come and compete with us in this thread ?

The support monk in the video was purely there for the pulling and grouping of monsters, and didn't even use EP.
Iam showing gear and build at the end of the video, along with some of the new gems.
Some other information:
-This was among the first time i played this build, so iam not even close to harvest the full potential.
-Vile Wards with +35% damage per enemy hit was used.
-Video was recorded with ~300ping, so FC were pretty buggy/sluggish at times. (i expect it to behave much better once on live server)
-Up to 340mil damage crits -> http://i.imgur.com/1cF96uG.jpg & http://imgur.com/qrGBy1A
As you can see from the video, as long as the density is good (or you have a pull monk) FC does some sick aoe damage. But as you also see, this build struggles vs isolated elites/rift guardians.
