My guess is a hunter like Titan Quest's hunter. Which can choose on use a spear and shield or a bow. That would cover a melee and long ranged characters on one character only. Leaving an empty slot to create another cool/really new class.
you beat me to it why haven't they updated their official site?
I think they'll release all that info after the Blizzcon. They have to make happy ppl who payed for it. It is fair enough. They have the right to see everything at first hand.
I think I read that also, it was shortly after the announcement. They said something like they had the first act done and now they were working on content for the game and the remaining levels or something.

DS: How big is the world compared to Diablo 2? Are there more quests and things to do than in Diablo 2?
Wilson: Well, we honestly don't know exactly how big it is in comparison to Diablo 2. The goal is for it to be of a similar size, with a similar amount of content and over a similar time span as Diablo 2. During development, we were almost surprised how long the first Act took, we really thought it should have been shorter. So we played around with some settings and ran around the environments we'd randomly generated to get a feel for this. It's easy to change the length of a given area so that it's generated smaller, which will shorten the length of time it takes to complete it, so we still have a lot of fine tuning to do to make the length just right so that it coincides with our objective to create a game that is about the size of Diablo 2.
"During development, we were almost surprised how long the first Act took".
Yeah, that phrase means 1st Act is done. With luck you guys might be able to play it in BlizzConn.
Before I get in to what we are doing let me go over some things we want to avoid with a death mechanic.
We want to separate being in town and being out on a quest/adventure/dungeon as much as possible. Leaving the safety of a town should not be a decision you take lightly. We don't want to remove the sense of suspense and danger by making town something you're always going back to pretty much whenever you like. The intent is to create a greater separation from being in town, and not, and to make your time away from town a lot more tense.
On that same note we also don't want to remove the player from the action. Throwing them back to town for every death really breaks up the action, and not in a fun, interesting, or necessary way.
So, with these things in mind we've found that a check point system works really well. Throughout your adventures, and generally at the ends of each "floor" of a dungeon your character is saved to a checkpoint. When you die you're dropped back at the last checkpoint with a small amount of health, and the rest regenerates slowly. It's obviously a very forgiving system as it is. It's just too early to put a ton of thought in to what penalties there should be, if any, added on top of it.
Regardless, potential penalties aside, this is the death mechanic we're currently using and it's working really well so far.
[annoying] I strongly suggest you all to read all the interviews that was posted here. A lot of questions and complaints I see here were already answered by Jay or Bashiok. [/annoying]
Jay said it the scenario of the gameplay video was made only for this purpose. Although he also said it has the same look/elements of Tristam's Cathedral.
the whole first act is supposed to be complete so at BlizzCon we should get more real info about it.
It's an "Elixir of Vitality I" and my guess is it gives you a regeneration over X seconds
edit
or maybe they're introducing max stats again like in D1?...
I just think that reintroducing the vitality, dexterity. strength items would be a good idea. Just think about the mess if people start duping items like in d1 and d2.
I'm sorry, I guess it's a bad idea to design a game after one of the most successful franchises ever.
PS: according to a lot of fans they ARE allowing no clicks on gold pick ups
Oh man. I didn't want to be offensive. And everyone can have their ideas and thoughts about them.
In my conception Diablo is a game about loot. That's the key of its success. If you start to make looting automatic people you'll lose the taste for it. Yes, even for gold drops. Player should decide if he want to pick up a drop or not. That's my thought.
Guys, I know that the URL I'm going to share with you is from another forum, but that entry should be known by every Diablo's fun because this is a master piece.
All of you that went to Blizzcon: Did you get a chance to check the system specs of the machines running D3?
Thanks,
I liked the "Pope" as well.

Eye candy. Enjoy.

Who said that?
Yep. I was about to warn the poster about that.

Mods: If you decide to remove this post. Please find another way to share this info. The guy who did it deserves our attention.
