I also think that at least one item in every set will be a crafted item to encourage use of that system.
I think this is a good idea. I chose multiple items per slot, because the way I thought of it is they don't have to be within similar level range. Ex. one item could be level 15 while another could be 28. When you acquire the higher lvl piece, it would dramatically boost your other stats from other certain pieces as well, so it's "scaling" to a degree, but not specifically x% per level. I think it's sorta like synergy for sets in a way. This way, you can keep a lower lvl set for a longer period and it will still be viable before you found something really amazing to replace it with. At least 1 craftable piece is a great idea too, to encourage the system like Ophion mentioned.
Another bonus for a completed set should be abilities related to the lore. I think that would be pretty amazing, to acquire one new ability based on the character the set is from, nothing OP, but I think that will add variety to your class along with everything else (runes, jewels, etc).
Great cast guys. An opinion for improvement, perhaps add some video next time? Even if the gameplay is not new, it beats staring at the same screen for 20+ mins. Maybe add in pvp videos, when you're talking about pvp or something
It's a bunch of BS videos on youtube with bogus links that NO one should click.

What just threw me off was I saw a friend on Steam playing the "Diablo 3 closed beta", so I was just curious if anyone else ran across a legit version. I asked him where he got it from, but he didn't tell me (just an online person I met in a game awhile back). All the footage has been shown before so I sure it's fake, thanks for the reply anyways
I've been seeing all these videos of a "hacked" beta on youtube, and people claimed to have the game in beta form running on their comps. I'm really cautious so I didn't click any links from those videos, but I have a friend on Steam whom I saw playing "Diablo III closed beta", so that got me curious. So anyone here hear about the "closed beta" or anything of the sort, and do we have any confirmation at all that this is real or fake? Thanks!
+1 here as well. Very nice analysis Scy. I can't wait for 2011, and the additional news that'll be coming out in Blizzcon, hopefully we can get a closer estimate of release date by then!
Yea, there wasn't any conclusion to this demo as Fodan mentioned. It felt like..."oh, so that's it? I went around and killed mobs and basically did nothing for 20 minutes".
The OP had some good points. I tried the Wizard, Witch Doctor, and Monk at the demo. I definitely felt the visual noise aspect. With the monk, his chain skills would make the monsters blow up and the globs of blood (no doubt cool) was sometimes a bit overwhelming.
By that i meant, visually noisy. It blew up and took up too much space on the screen that I literally had to wait for it to clear to engage the next target or continue on.
I played D3 3 times, and I felt it was a tad boring only b/c we were stuck in the same dessert area for the entire demo (no variety in landscape). I think the horrify skill should have a cool down. I was in the same collapse time dungeon with a friend, and we just alternated horrify to scare off all the mobs and found our way out.
The monk was a BLAST to play though. Seven way strike skill is so bad a$$. Overall a fun melee class that has aoe ability skills. Overall i like the game and the shape that it's in. Just tone down a bit on the globs :P.
Hmm, I never directed any comments at you Warden. I only replied to the original post. I agree with you, that people had their right to make their voices heard. Where I'm coming from is this is a build far from the original game. Blizzard even said so themselves after the first batches of SS, that people are complaining too soon and assume that the whole game would be rainbows and unicorns. (the petition did change stuff as i am aware as well, and thank god)
They stated that there are places in the game that gets progressively much darker that were not revealed yet. In this build, i feel that we are getting more of what the real game would actually be like. Both side have legit reasons, i agree with you and i hope you see where I'm coming from.
I have no prob with people voicing their opinions, and that always happen when the very first batch off SS comes out so it's no surprise b/c they legitimately care about the game/franchise. Not anyone of us have played the game enough to know about replay value, but I trust blizzard (as i do with all their franchise) that they will make this game an epic one.
I can not agree more with the passage. I've played D3 at Blizzcon and was amazed. There were times when i shuddered because there was too much blood exploding on the screen, and i was thinking "my god, that is a lot of gore!!!".
Then i continued playing because it was so fun ;). The art style is amazing and creates a beautiful detailed environment to play. Sadly those fanboys crying about the art style would know nothing of what i'm talking about and spend their time crying over a few early ss.
i collect random funny t-shirts for wearing at home, so i'll definitely be interested if this is included in a special edition set or something of D3. but for lone purchase, it has to come in more colors.

SC2, was purely amazing. I can't say that enough.

what i think sets this apart is the cool extras they give you. that is why i'm buying it.
