Especially if you can get a Boon of the Hoarder Gem with Goldwrap and Avarice Band combo going T6 becomes almost easy. So you can literally run almost any build you want as long as you can kill fast enough.

Personally I've played a Grand Vizier Thunder Crash build and a RimeHeart Glacial Spike build in T6 without the Boon of the Hoarder sillyness and been successful. Nothing flashy or superfast but very fun gameplay and good party support/buffs so you don't feel completely outclassed by the DH's and Pet/Jade Docs or any of the other end-game GRift builds. The meat of the builds is the skill choices but without some pretty rare pieces of gear T6 might be too tough.

This set looks awesome but it looks like it will make my Rimeheart useless. Close to 10,000% Damage or more per sec totally blows the sword proc out of the water.

Any ideas what a Cold version of this could look like?

Yes, the extra missiles can now proc independently. And Depth Diggers do not effect Wizard or Witch Doctor Primary Spells/Abilities, so they won't work in this build. You can get +30% on belt and pants though, plus a bunch from Simplicities Strength, so you can boost it a bunch there, at the sacrifice of some mitigation.

Yeah, I did the same thing, moved from Meteor Shower to Runeless, then found a Sparker and dropped the whole build. It's super fun though and is viable T6 without unity so you can RoRG/SOJ and stack decent fire damage. Best thing is either 2 peice Tals or cindercoat (or both actually). That way your RCR or generation is good enough to spam even in town.

I'm still trying to find a way to build into a Lightning or Cold loadout. I think It would work best with Lightning/Thunder Crash. Lots of Comets could provide good CC in conjunction with BH and Frost Nova/Fracture or Duplicates but I always feel like Cold builds are under-performing if they don't have a Rimeheart in them.

I'm pretty sure it's just a display bug anyways. When I was logged on last night the first time I loaded up a public game it said there were 1078 open games. The next time it said 60. Unless it got DDoS'd again and a ton of people got dropped all at once my guess is there is a bug in interface.

It's the end of my work day so naturally all I'm doing is thinking about D3, but I don't have a chance to test any of this. So throw it on te forums and have people chew it up is what I say!

Trcently I'be been spouting about the Grand Vizier and I'd like to know if anyone has tried it out significantly with the lightning crash rune. The build I'm thinking of is Meteor-lightning , Blizzard Lightning Storm, and BH-supermassive. Those skills are pretty self explanatory I think. Then add in familiar Arcanot, energy armor and teleport/slow time with the runes of your choice.

As for gear:

Weapon - Grand Vizier

Chest - Tals

Helm - Tals

Gloves - Cains

Pants - Cains

bracers - Strongarm/ aughilds

Shoulders - Choice/ Aughilds

Neck - Dovu

Boots - BT

Belt - BT

Ring - RoRG and SOJ/Wyrdward



Passives

Paralysis, Blur/Illusionist, Evocation? Not really sure here.

I dunno about the rest of you but I like Vizier for fire builds and they work quite well in T6. I use the no rune meteor with blizzard-apocalypse and BH-Blazar. BH pulls mobs so no need for smoldering core as log as you have decent CDR. Apo blankets everything an keeps the Firebird DoT ramping up. Slot in Arcanot and astral presence and your regen lets you spam meteor and blizzard all over the place. Combine that with Blur and Dominance and teleport-safe passage for a little tankyness to make up for immobility.

You can use the tal belt and ammy w/ RoRG for extra AP regen and slot Magefists for the extra DPS. Or you can go with Cindercoat and use Blackthornes belt /ammy for extra toughness and damage to elites. That's what I'm playing around with right now, what gear to slot for most efficiency.

I think it's tons of fun too. Calling down loads of giants rocks to crash into baddies. It's really satisfying, plus it ramps up the DoT wicked fast so you can run past.

So I wrote a post a little while ago about how fun the Grand Vizier is and spamming meteors all over the place. I think I'd like to stick with it for a while and so I've got a couple questions about how to make it more efficient. First off, does IAS affect your cast speeds (works like "faster cast rate" from D2)? Meaning I could spam more meteors faster?

And If that's the case would it be worth it to go with Cindercoat instead of Magefists? The coat combined with the Vizier RCR and paragon would make it almost 80% cheaper so like 10AP per cast. With Tals 3 piece, Arcanot and Astral Presence thats 9AP regen per second. So you'd never ever run out of AP.

Third, which items can roll +% meteor damage. Boots and what else? Chest? Shoulders? I think it's those three but I'm not sure. And along with that, how does the +%skill damage stat work? 25 from the staff, 15 on three pieces of equipment, thats +70% total. Does that entail an effective weapon damage of 740 * 1.7 so 1258% and is that the Damage percent that gets calculated into the Firebird DoT or does the 6-piece bonus not take that sort of thing into consideration.

Last, what skills would you all recommend as supplemental skills? Apocalypse? Blazar w/ Strongarms? This is the build I'm running currently.

Hey Sasquatch, Just a few questions to better direct peoples feedback.

What's holding you back right now? Are you dying too much and therefore not being able to finish rifts? Or is it that you aren't killing things fast enough? Depending on whats going on there might be different things to change.

Also, are you sure you want to stick with Ray of Frost as your main damage dealer? Or do you want to try and spec more towards triggering the Rimeheart proc?

But as for direct feedback, I'd say as soon as possible find a ring that you can socket a Bane of the Trapped gem into. 15% Damage boost to CC'd (frozen) enemies.

So with the new restrictions on item procs affecting things like the tal set meteor bonus (skill procs) can item procs still proc other item procs? Specifically I'm thinking about the Jangs Envelopement Black Hole slow proc triggering the Bane of the Trapped leg gem damage bonus to CC'd enemies. Anyone have any experience with this?

I run a pretty mediocre FB set with MM/MB Conflag/apocalypse/blazar and I cleared lvl24 on my first go around. No unity and sub-optimized gear.

i might even be a little on the glass cannon side with the +skill% slotted on belt, chest, shoulders and pants. I'll link my build if you'd like to check it out.

But does the Magistrate give all your hydras the frost nova spell? Or just frost hydras?

Makes sense max rolls and all. But I've got a socket AND Vit on the ammy. So, I guess to make the best of it I should not go for elemental damage, since 20% isn't better than any other slot? I'd get more value from Crit rolls?
