a thorny barb will be a fun one ... thorn dmg def seems viable throughout the game. at least for the barb
I have trouble picturing a "thorn barb". It doesn't really feel authentic. Or am I missing something? (next to the barb wire <-> thorns synergy)
How does a barbarian cause damage to everyone that attacks him?
Have you ever hit something, or kicked something for that matter.... just for it to hurt you more than you hurt it? Those demons will be hitting my barb and then saying to theirselves "FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUU.... Wish I hadn't done that!"
Also, really digging the sword that the female barb is holding in the concept art. The more I look at this stuff, the more I see. The more I see, the more I like it.
Very nice loot here! Hopefully the 100k mark will release as cool of stuff as this. The female barb is kinda growing on me. Will still use male barb first due to the lore attached from D2.
Again, really liking what I'm seeing here.
D3 is in Q4 2011 and they just build hype cause hype is free advertisement.
Whether or not it is released in Q4 2011 (hopefully it will be), they are, IMHO, masters of building hype. They have created tons of hype, all by using just a few vague statements. Of course that says a great deal about the game's fan base. There are a lot of us. And we are hanging on their every words.
That's actually really good to hear. I think they are taking the trait, and the level cap situation in a good direction. It seems like a good idea to make these decisions feel weighty.
It is also pretty odd how they do keep mentioning "gold find". Kinda makes you wonder if they're trying to tell us something. I don't think I'll spend a trait point on it, when I could possibly throw on gear with gold find.
Great post, Jackzor. Hopefully as we draw closer to the beta, we'll learn more and more, as promised.
...But I will say from from the party footage we have seen blizzard release the monk was generally leading as the main agressor (even over the barb). Is this just individual player style or archetype?
From what I understand, the monk seems to be the type of guy that has buffs that carry over to other, close by characters. , in this aspect, reminds me of a Paladin.
This may have also been around the time that they revealed the monk character. If so, it's natural that they would want to keep the focus on him at that time. Just my thoughts/opinions.
I understand and can see both sides of the debate. I respect everyone's opinions, but as for my own, I'm still holding out for a 2011 release. I'll remain hopeful that they are intending on doing what they have told their investors in this call.
Life can never be pinned down to one date. Life is life, and always changing. Anything can happen to change the proposed dates. If the dates change, I'll wait on the next known time frame. After all, what else are we gonna do?
As in D2, Barb 1st.. always barb. Not so sure which gender, but with the male barb having lore carry over from D2.. i'm leaning towards him.
I really want to like the male monk character, being a martial arts fan myself. He just seems a little off design wise. I can't even really put my finger on it, but not sure if i like his appearance. Maybe its the crown-like head gear. Might try out the female monk. She looks more like a monk type martial artist IMHO.
You can still visit the site though, so you can read the updates that will be posted in this topic by ScyberDragon
True, but I don't want to miss on the user asked questions and other possible info. It will also have all the info in one concise place. I'll keep watching the main page until I get to the Cast later.
Plus, those DiabloCasts can be pretty funny!

Blizzard = brilliant

For me, it's just best to stay positive.
