Seriously, you'll beg for a ladder at that point, because your chars have crossed a point where they don't get any upgrades anymore. This game is not made for years long gearing and leveling. In 6 months your chars will be "maxed".
But if the ladder patch came with newer and better legendaries, our characters won't be "maxed" anymore. That's already incentive enough for me to continue playing the game on my old character, if they will drop on non-ladder.

I think you have the right idea with yours build and gear. You should be able to farm monster power 0 or 1 with some efficiency. The rest is just being patient and gradually improve each slots.
For what its worth, I got about 10 legendaries yesterday doing this run about 6 times. Probably the RNG god favoring me, but the speed in which you dispatch mobs contribute to that as well.
For skills, I'm using multishot since it clears mobs faster for me. Vengeance rune also helps refill both hatred and stamina.
as DH u need fast fingers, good eyes and some skill to manage.
and in 1.0.5 when they nerf gloom from 65 to 35 i will just use Sentry with 15% dmg reduction (for mp up to ~~8) and passiv with 20% reduction (mp9-10)
Personally I recommend a moderate amount of all res. You don't need excessive amount, around 200-300 or so helps out a lot. I prefer not to have to concentrate too much while farming.
Try to think of it in terms of effective health too. Sometimes more armor or more vitailty will increase your survivability more than increase all res. That's why I recommend using the damage calculator.
In the end, its all gonna come down to farming efficiency. Even classes that can do sustain dps against 50 million hp might not want to waste time fighting mobs for minutes instead of seconds, and want to lower the monster level. I suspect builds from now on will be rated on which level they can take on.
There might also be builds that specialize in clearing easier contents quickly, thus improving farming efficiency.
Of course, this is all speculation. I do hope class remains reasonably balance at the higher level.
How do you fare solo? Some of your problems could also be about your partner. One of the reasons people die is because they run out of discipline before they can finish off a mob. If your combined dps is too low, that could be your cause of death.
Hmm... I'd rather get enough resistance to take a few hits at least. You don't need a tank build to do that. You play the same as usual, but you can afford to make some mistakes!
You can call me lazy if you want, but I'd rather be relaxing a bit while I'm farming.
Nothing easy. You just need to gradually get better gears, starting with getting your damage much higher. I suspect its the bow that's dragging it down for now. What its dps?
See some good advices here already. Here's a rather crazy one. I have around 15000 health orb pickup. What I do is quickly dps down some of the minions, SS to pick up the orbs, instant heal, then continue fighting. Its actually rather stable, and has good synergies will vengeance rune.

Apart from that, I agree with you. If I manage to craft a hellfire ring like you got, I'd be farming it up at low monster power level too.

This is not my most recent gear, but here it is.
Its a semi-tank build. I have high latency so I get hit quite a lot, hence the rather high AR.
