Its understandable to be a little confused by Kamuis response i guess, since as a returning player youre unlikely to have all ancients of all sets for a class you havent played
As to your questions, yes theres a huge bonus to running multiple chars, from running a good DB build on a diff class because theyre faster, to just changing up play to keep up interest. Also, in seasonal play, (on PC at least) its a requirement to have at least 2 chars for two of the conquests, the first to run 8 set dungeons the other to complete GR55s in 6 different sets so those cant be completed without having multiple classes.
With regards to upgrades, for weapons and jewellery upgrading in the cube is the primary way to go, since its far cheaper to spend shards on armor and OHs. Then once an ancient weapon and any sort of jewellery is out of the way, Id use the cube to target upgrades to slots along the line of which slot will roll the highest upgrade, but really just go with whatever way you feel saves you the most time.
Regarding drop rates, as far as im aware almost all items have an equal chance to drop now (although i can think of a couple of cases where either the drop rate is slightly lower or RNG may make this appear the case) but there are a couple of ways you can gain an advantage,
If the item is for use in the cube it may be more likely to drop on a lower level char, that can be seen by searching the item on BNet for example This page shows a level 10 monk has a 1 in 2 chance of getting Crudest Boots (lut socks are barb only) while a max level player has about a 1 in 9 chance adjusting for set items becoming avail and some of those listed being bounty rewards or crafted.
Alternatively certain items may be more likely to drop for one class than another. There is a spreadsheet available here but its slightly out of date so some of the drop rates may no longer be correct but generally speaking it does show what im talking about for drop rates between classes, for example getting a Furnace is theoretically more likely on a Witch Doctor if upgrading rares.
Wow, you really did an amazing job answering all of my questions I do appreciate the catch up for a returning player.
I started to switch it up last night on a new character in seasons and am getting better drop rates with him than my crusader ( oh RNG )
Now my biggest issues is just running the bounties so that i have enough mats for the cube.
I am a little confused about your first statement about "all ancients of all sets and LoN builds"? What do you mean by this?
I have tried to do group play but for some reason this is the only game
that has horrible connection issues and it will not allow me to group on
the Xbobx version.
Also, where are you getting the drop table %'s?
Hello all, as the title states I am a returning from a long break. I used to play PC but have moved on to XOne.
This is my first season overall and had a few questions.
I am currently running a Crusader Hammer build and hit the wall at GR 73 solo and was thinking of changing it up, is there any benefit to running multiple season characters?
Second, is upgrading rare items then re rolling legendaries in the cube still the best way to find upgrades?
I had several more questions I wanted to ask but now that i write this my mind went dead lol.
@spiritvs That is a tough call, the Arcane immunity is very nice but i understand the Cold vs Holy. I personally think the Immunity is worth it though.
I am trying out a few things and am loving my current build. Any opinions on my Crusader?
Heerobya, I feel your pain, I am in the same situation although i did find a Fate of the Fell but i am finding that the game play hasnt changed much.
I personally almost prefer the block chance, I'm at 14mil toughness in game but when i switched out the CC for the BC i noticed i started to go down a bit faster.
I recently found Fate of the Fell, and was playing around with it. I am having some fun with the current build, but i wanted everyone's opinion on the weapon and build. Maybe there is something I am missing that could make this weapon work a bit better.
As a note I have been trying to roll a socket on it but have yet to be successful.
All opinions are appreciated.
I did the adjustments that both of you suggested and have boosted my stats drastically and am able to farm T1 much faster. I still run into the one and twosies that hurt bad but i am not worried at this point.
I am just under the 600k mark and am now wondering how people get to the 1 -1.2 million DPS mark without loosing the toughness.
I appreciate the info, I don't mind changing 1 or 2 skills out but I was hoping i could still use my current play style to be able to progress further.
If that's the case i'm going to have to reevaluate my entire build to increase my Damage out put for progression.
I guess ill have to pray to the RNG Gods to get me some decent drops to help further.
I have read the plethora of threads and videos out there explaining "how to gear" but i still seem to be stuck.
I am able to do T1 without much of a problem, although it seems to go kinda slow.I would appreciate some assistance in figuring out what i can change to look for in order to break the wall so i can attempt T2.
My apologies the link to my character did not post
So I have made several tweaks to my gear including a couple Inna's pieces that i was lucky enough to have drop...
First time to get something useful from a drop.
I am able to farm Act 3 MP4 with no reall issues and fairly fast.
although I am still trying to figure out how to get my DPS to the 100k+ range? Is the main problem my weapons?

I wanted to get some opinions from the wiz community to see how my wiz stacks up against some of the top players in game in regards to build/gear/EDPS
I know i haven't broke the 1 mil EDPS mark yet but i feel like i have hit the existential "wall".
I was wondering what i could look out for or even change to try and break that 1 mil barrier.

Thanks.
That sounds like the build i was originally going for but switched it up because i didn't have the right gear to efficiently run T1 with.
I got a few new pieces of gear and am starting to figure out a new build and how to affectingly make it work.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I was just curious if i was missing something since there are a lot of people who have jumped to the 500k mark super fast.
My Luck just hasn't been there i guess.
I would like to get some opinions and help on what could get me to farm Torment successfully.
Is there a "min" DPS/toughness cap to be in Torment or is it just my current build atm.
Any suggestion would be helpful Thanks.

I am just hoping i get luck again with drops considering it seems i am the only one in this game who is always broke
