I'm still dismayed over the disappearance of the necromancer, they should be the only nephalem who know the true purpose of the worldstone save bul'kathos and potentially the barbarian clans. That aside, I assume the new ranged class will have some degree of hybridity. Mayhaps something akin to the amazon since the witchdocter, wizard and barbarian are all at least variations of the necro, sorc and barb(-.-). The last book by Knaak, having taken place in Westmarch, leaves me to believe not only that the followers of Rathma now congregate somewhere to discuss the fall of karybdus but, given the amount of people there at the time the chances of a capablemercenary not joining the fight seems unlikely. (Props to The_Engineer and scyberdragon, I like your ideas!)
Armor: Anything short of tanking status as his/her speed and skill will depend on convenience. Though I expect he/she will be wearing a helmet at all times.
General skill-sets might include:
Auras: (General enhancement, luck, etc)
Ranged enhancement: (ballista, bow, throwing knives, etc)
Melee: (enhanced speed, dodge, swords)
I expect he/she will hail from Lut Gholein and therefore his/her appearance will resemble less of a poor nomad and more of a sikh (sort of a persian twist to balance out the enigmatic look of the wizard). Think, Naseeruddin Shah's version of Captain Nemo from the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, but with more magic. The class would be a combination of the assassin and the paladin, utilizing auras and magic enhancements to annihilate targets with a flurry of ranged and melee attacks.
I'll spare you guys anymore rambling, if you read this far I appreciate it!
P.S. Regardless of whatever the remaining classes might be I am SO freaking excited to get even the slightest bit of closure this game might include. Diablo lore got me reading again. Thanks Blizzard and Co.!
I just finished the non-expansion portion of TQ and would tend to agree with the you. I enjoyed the checkpoints, but sometimes I missed parts of the game barreling past scores of enemies just to find the next one. I admit D2s system was flawed in that every so often the player builds up a sense of indestructability and forgets to put a portal down just in case he does fall, potentially leaving him stranded in town. It will be interesting to see where this goes though.
This might be the wrong place for this, but has anyone noticed blizzard brought back the mysterious blue gem displayed on the Battle.net interface? It's on the main page when you first access the site in the center, turns purple when you click it too.
Dungeon & Dragons Online use a similar kind of loot distribution, I cannot say that I was a fan of it though. Many times I would open a chest and see the items that everyone else was getting shaded white signifying I could not touch them and I saw a lot of good items go to greedy people who would just sell them. I admit it's a step up from the FFA cluster f*ck that ensued after any decent item dropped in D2, but I hope it will be subject to a fair amount of tweaking before the game's release.
Life isn't worth being that attentive to detail. How about this is a religious debate based on text/images relative to the discussion. Somehow I doubt proving Ermac a major player in Diablo III is on par with providing evidence, speculative or not, of Tyrael's corruption. I also doubt chocolate filled, elf-shaped cookies would pose a significant threat to anything blunt and nearby.
Part of me didn't notice the happy rainbow sunshine lighting and graphics in light of the revelation that, at last Blizzard answered our prayers. Though in my defense I did admittedly play World of Warcraft for a very long time and things like "bubble" graphics and cartoon-like dungeons tend to become normal over time. When compared to it's predecessor [Diablo II] however, I hope they see the err in their current design as I really did like the gothic-style architecture and shadowy landscapes.
Was anyone able to get a clean still shot of the meteor descending over the town? (Tristram?) It's an awesome image and would probably make a sick wallpaper.
Consider this a religious debate, though I commend your ability to argue over semantics, nothing here is provable so don't bother looking for solid evidence.
OK tyrael the demons the light and the dark. They have always been fighting over sanctuary. I think the are both evil just choose you color do you want a dark evil color or a light evil color black or white. But I think If you have read all the books that sanctuary can become more powerful than both. And Both heaven and hell want to stop it. Both sides want to destroy sancturay.
Hmm, a power struggle between three factions... Blizzard has never done that before =P

Difficult to kill personifications.

Ah, you should finish it! Definitely worth it.
