I think its just a cool addition for people who want to run it. It might be fun to play with your inventory open or have chat off to the side on one screen. Liquid Blue did say that mobs only rendered about 600 px more on the side screens (probably as if you had a 2560 x 1600 screen).
Just watched Bigfangs < http://www.twitch.tv/bigfangs > salvage Griswald's Edge. It salvaged into Petrified Bark a orange colored text crafting material. Just FYI. Sorry I couldn't get a screenshot.
Its not a WoW reference but the Treasure Goblin seen in the beta is a clear reference to similar creatures in the old Golden Axe game. http://youtu.be/wiEwrv6nbiQ I wonder if we'll see references from other games.
I have been watching a recording of LiquidBlue's Livestream of the beta. At 2hrs 4 mins into the stream he talks about how there are 2 beta servers currently running. One for Friends and Family which has content up to the Skeleton King and one for Fansites which has content beyond what is offered on the friends and family beta, he speculates up to the end of Act 1. The Fansite beta is bound by a NDA See it here:
Daemaro was right. According to Force Strategy, fansites and press have access to the beta but are under a NDA which prevents them from streaming or directly sharing content from the beta (for now). It makes no sense when F&F participants are not under the same restriction but it is the case. You can read about it directly from the Reddit thread here:
Yes. He's talking about press beta and F&F beta, they're the same, but he can't do anything press related while in F&F beta. Someone tweet him if you don't believe me, or PM Sixen.
There are several Diablo references in WoW, like a weapon called "Wirt's Third Leg" the Mini-Diablo pet, "Cow King's Hide" and Tyrael pet. What WoW items and references would you like to see in Diablo 3, mood and tone appropriate of course.
I'll start. I'd love to see the following weapons :
I imagine the blizzard support person he spoke to must be mistaken, another sc2 caster Painuser was streaming the beta and profile wise would have been considered "press" as well as "Friends" as well.
It's probably because he is in fact considered press even though he was invited to the F&F. He has a huge following and letting him stream would most likely upset some of the "real" press.
At least, that's how I understood it. I wont say I agree, but I guess it kind of makes sense in a way.
In that idea doesn't it seem stupid that the F&F can upset the 'real' press by having first chance to post things?
I personally don't know, I'm just as confused as all of you. That was my impression of the situation at least, some of the other fans in his stream-chat basically said the same thing.
We know that the friends and family beta is running with no NDA attached. But it seems like there may be other versions of the beta running with an attached NDA. Evidence provided by SC2 commentator Day9 as seen by his tweets here : https://twitter.com/#!/day9tv
Do you think this is a different build of the Diablo 3 client? Perhaps one will more than Act 1 which would justify the NDA?
