I'm looking for some people to play through the entire Nightmare campaign this weekend. Once I have some interested people, we can make a schedule. I really enjoy playing co-op but the public games are full of idle-bots and I'm tired of it. I'll be playing a lvl 52 Monk with 2,480 DPS and 23,000 life. I've progressed up until the Fields of Misery, but I will start over and play the whole campaign, just for fun. I'm specifically looking for people who will actually communicate, don't mind some exploring if the group wants to do it, and who will post yellows and share them. I just want to have some community fun! Feel free to screw around, but don't come into my group with "I have no vitality gear lol" -actual quote
Yes, you WILL die in inferno.
Having low armor, absence of block will just obliterate you.
Choosing to build up str+block will just momentually decrease your dps and will bring you to the point where you will not be able to killl anything before you die.
Cheers
To be clear, that was more of a joke. I don't actually expect this to be a viable inferno build!
Right now I'm leveling my alts through normal (Don't have a lot of time to play, not nearly at inferno yet, haha) and I wanted to do something different. At level 20, I turned my Wizard into a BattleMage/SpellBlade. I wanted to theorycraft or get advice on my future character. I am having a lot of fun with this playstyle. I wish I could link my character build, but I can tell you I'm stacking Str, Int, Vit and secondary Thorns and Life on Hit. My current build is this: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#WXYdSg!ab!aaaZ
So here are my questions on my methodology as I think about the future of this alt.
Is Strength a worthwhile stat for the armor increase? As it is I don't take nearly as much damage as I used to, but a lot of that might be due to the 500% increase in Health from stacking vitality.
I feel like Frost Nova and Wave of Force my be woefully redundant. I've tuned them to both a 10.2 second cooldown (with runes and evocation). It is a lot of fun to pull multiple large groups, freeze them, laugh at their soon-to-be-corpses, and then Wave of Force them to death (record # of kills for one hit is like 24)
I use Diamond Skin for elites and bosses, works fine enough but I wonder if I get more benefit from a passive armor. If I kept Frost Nova I would get Ice Armor for synergy, but otherwise I might go Storm armor (minimobs 2-shot themselves when attacking me as it is).
The one weakness I have is movement. When something runs away it is difficult to catch up to them. I wonder if something like Teleport might benefit me, although I'd only be using it offensively.
Slow Time is nice in the desert areas with those stupid poison wasp things, but I could be convinced to replace this with Teleport or an armor.
Am I going to die in Inferno!?!?!
I will gear up at the auction house I guess about every ten levels based on my current performance and income from my main/alts (hybrid gear can be really cheap on the auction house). So now I'm looking into a level 35 build that might be better, looking for opinions and discussion on this as well: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#WXQdST!abX!ZbabZa
Just got hacked with an authenticator. Blizz told me they haven't detected any suspicious activity. All my items and gold are gone. Diablo = 0/10.
Hi Turtle. According to your account records an authenticator was not attached to the account until after the compromise. If you'd like to discuss further, or have any questions, please contact our customer service department:https://us.battle.net/support/en/ticket/submit
And to a lesser extent Exalted Soul and Vengeance.
These seem like absolutely necessary passive skills. I'm interested to see counters to this claim of builds you think will be viable without using these passives. For the barbarian example you might not need both Animosity AND Unforgiving, but you also might want both to maximize Dread Shot. Either way, not having eaither seems like gimping your character somewhat. Thoughts?
