I miss the days when Warcraft was just a little game on the side, and Diablo 2 was in the limelight. But, time goes on. I dont think there will be a Diablo movie any time soon, sadly. I think that was a mistake or it was being thought about very hard. I fail to believe that they will produce both a World of Warcraft movie and a Diablo movie at the same time. They both are great games (diablo being better) but Diablo would make such a more epic and dark movie. I just hope if they do, they have alot of fighting in (not too much so its just endless gore and no storyline) but just enough to see every skill that is used on Diablo 2 be used in the movie. (Barbarian using WW on the movie straight through a horde of Pit Lords.) And then again, even if the movie is "Well funded", look at Dungeons & Dragons, it was well funded and it was complete crap compared to what was expected. But if they made a Doom Movie, Diablo is possible as well. My theory is: MMORPGs are popular, but they will die out very slightly in a year or so, WoW will suck up all the glory and money and when there are over 30 mmorpgs open at a time trying to steal WoW's crown (like Age of Conan), they will then say "Hey, WoW isnt so great anymore, lets ignore it now, instead of Diablo." and make Diablo 3, and Diablo the movie. We gotta face it, 2007 and 2008 belong to WoW. >.> In theory of course.
The developer, Legendary Pictures, said they are working very closely with Blizzard to make sure the lore and everything is in place. Why is this good news?
Because if Legendary Pictures decides to do a Diablo movie, they'll probably work with Blizzard closely again, to ensure it's quality and make sure the true Diablo fans won't be disappointed.
But better than just looking stylish, the new one actually looked functional. Like it really could do all those things it did in the movie. The Batmobile in the first movies was the kind of car that if you walked past it in a parking lot, you would so key it.
If they did a Diablo movie they wouldn't repeat the same story in the game anyway. It would be a new story in the Diablo universe.
The Sin War is set something like 5000 years before Tristram or something like that. Maybe 500 years, I'm not sure. But its ages before the events in tristram.
Only two out of three books of The Sin War trilogy have been released so far, so I don't know how it ends.
Its got a few main characters, Uldyssian, Mendeln, Serenthia, Archilios and Lillia. Uldyssian and Mendeln are brothers and are both farmers from a very small village, and Serry and Arch are friends with the brothers. Then one day Lillia comes along and everything changes. Uld starts gaining these strange powers that allow him to do anything he wills to be done. Well, with alot of practice and concentration of course. With the help of Lillia, he awakens the same power within other people, including his friends. The characters aren't a specific class that can be found in the game, they just sometimes resemble different classes, depending on how they use their power. Uld is the most powerful and is above all classes - quoted from the author, Archilios is a hunter by nature, before he got powers, and he just used the powers to make his hunting better. although this is actually uncertain, because its not yet clear how he is such a good hunter. and I mean unbelievably good. Serry has dark hair, so I thought she would be more like a Sorceress, but then the powers she uses resemble theh Amazon much more. For starters, she has somehow got attached to using a spear as a weapon, and she throws it and uses her powers to charge it up and bring it back to her. Also, when her powers are at their peak in battle, she gets this golden aura around her. And Mendeln.. well, he's very different to the rest...
*spoilerish* (though its obvious within the first few chapters anyway)
Mendeln was chosen by Rathma and the dragon Trang'oul to be a powerful Necromancer. Throughout the book, certain words of power and symbols are shown to him by Rathma (subtly, I might add. He doesn't just appear infront of him and show him symbols. He subtly leads him to graveyards and stuff). Mendeln trys to read these symbols and eventually teaches himself how to read them. And he also changes in appearance and nature slowly throughout the story. He becomes very morbid, and weird, and talks very plain, without much emotion. He's my favourite character. He doesn't use the same powers that Uldyssian does, instead he uses words of power, saying certain things and drawing symbols in the air or on the ground for a summoning spell or to cast an area spell.
Noone actually really so far uses very many spells, and the ones they do use, not many are the same as in game. Mendeln does eventually raise corpses though. And Serry has her spear/javelon. Archilios's uses guided arrows and they seem to create a flash of light when they hit their target. Its also said that Uldyssian's followers (who he awakened the power within them) use many different types of bolts to attack the enemy with. I assume the book means like maybe lightning bolts, fire bolts, and stuff like that. I imagine a scene like this with many people firing all sorts of things at the enemy as being like a party of 8 people on battlenet lol. Though its more like an army of hundreds versus and army of thousands.
Uldyssian's goal in the story is to take out the two different religion parties that are at war with each other, constantly fighting to convince people to join them. Aka one religion for Heaven, and one religion for Hell, fighting for the souls of man to join their army and fight in The Sin War. Only the Hell part is confirmed so far, the Heaven is just assuming. *end spoilers*
Basically in The Sin War book, their powers are based on their will, similar to us having arms and wanting them to reach over and grab the glass. The more we use our muscles in our arm, the better at it we become. If Uldyssian wants a lightning bolt to strike someone, his powers allow it. And they each discover for themselves different ways to use their powers, and each have a personal preference. I think in an interview I read with the author of the Sin War, is that these people later on divide up and become different classes. Though some classes from the game already exist, including 'mages' that they keep talking about but haven't actually been seen. Aparently there are huge mage wars out somewhere away from Uldyssian and his crew.
Thats probably as much as I can tell you without spoiling too much and simply telling you the whole story, which you may as well read it for yourself, its very cheap. Its a great story and I would love to see it as a movie.
No, they'd repeat the same story with Diablo 3 game story in it too dude. Else Diablo movie wouldn't tell (show) us the whole story of Diablo, which would be gay (lame)
Movie after Diablo 3 for sure though... Diablo series complete > Diablo movie. But there's always World of Diablo left though....

If they made a Diablo movie, it wouldn't be a group of people in a Rogue Emcampment killing Fallen and finding Andariel, along with Blood Raven and The Countess. Nor would it be anything from any of the other acts, because that would be boring. And we don't know what Diablo III is gonna be about yet. Although, it probably would be about a village or small town, with the main characters in that town, and then they would somehow go off and fight some big demon or angel. And it will probably involve the Worldstone, thats a major part in all the stories of Sanctuary. But whatever it is, its definitely not going to be an exact repeat of the game. The Warcraft movie isn't gonna be a repeat of the events in the game either. Well not exactly. It'll either be a continuation (future events), or a historical thing (past events), or maybe the same sort of events but from a different land, or something.
The Diablo movie could even be about the Horadrum, and how they had to capture the brothers. It could also involve Belial and Azmodan, and how they sought out to take over Hell. These events have only been told, but not played in the game. It might even involve the darkening of Tristram, which again, has only been told but not played by any Diablo game. The first Diablo was after Tristram was corrupted, not during.
Are you kidding me act 1 is all like kill den kill andy and chit but act 2 there is like 3 bosses and its epic durial can like destroy andy
Durial>>>>>>>>>>>Andarial
Act 2 Cons== Annoying
Act 1 Cons== Depressing because you most likely jsut started a new character.
Act 1 Pros== Andariel drops better gear than Duriel and has big demon jugs and ass so shes a bit easier on the eyes than some giant maggot bug thing. And all the dueling and transfering goes on in Act 1.
Act 2 Pros== Duriel drops nothing of interest, Hes quite ugly, and lets face it, Diablo is ugly but in a cool way, Duriel = Ugly in a not cool way. Well Everything on D2 is cool, but hes the least cool looking boss.
All in all, Andy is a way better boss and Act 1 is a better act in my opinion. But hey we all here love D2, thats the best opinion of them all.
Andariel is similar to Lillith and I love Lillith, and also the landscape and everything in Act 1 is really great. The trees and everything. Act 1 seems to be basic but in the best way. Act 2 is a desert which reminds everyone of Egypt, and Act 3 is a jungle - which by the way is where all the mage clans are, and where Necro's come from and all the magic users. Then theres Hell itself, or some Snowy Mountain.
Basic
Desert
Jungle
Hell
Snow Mountain
It just depends on person preference, obviously.
