Why in the world would they make a new one soo soon?
CoD MW2 was the #1 best selling game EVER. i know that they have a annual type of game release(CoD 4 November 2007, CoD WaW November 2008, CoD MW2 November 2009) but i think this time they should wait. sure its not the same type war and its not made by IW but Treyarch and Activision should know its too soon and they wont get nearly all the potential money that they could if it were released say Novemver 2011 not 2010. And not to mention BC2 just came out and is selling quite well also.
I herd another rumor that it wasn't gonna get released untill January but either way its too soon in my opinon.

I wonder if Activision will lead CoD in the same way it did Soldier of Fortune. Most people hated SoF:Payback. Personally I enjoyed the single player on Payback and it was worth my $6, but it seemed to really piss off people that were fans for 1 and 2(giving it reviews claiming it was the worst fps ever, etc).
It would be a bit of a shame if the CoD games turned to junk under a new group. MW2 is the first one that's gotten my attention. I intend to get MW2 at some point when it's on sale or something although the lack of dedicated servers is kind of lame.
As for the release being too soon, I suspect most MW2 players will go out and buy the next CoD as soon as it's released anyway so it probably is best in terms of profits to make a new game quick. On the other hand, if the new company drops the ball then you'll have people lose interest in the series. I suppose the best thing for the company to do would be to make expansions and DLC for MW2 as long as the following stays strong.
Isn't that what CoD:MW2 is? Another CoD released too soon, milking money out of such a pathetic bunch of players that just do that, give money where it doesn't belong? That this game was a success in itself is enough to make the entire gaming world look like a joke.
It doesn't matter what reasons float around this one, and it doesn't matter how it is, its obviously going to sell.
I picked up MW2 for the PC, after having only played MW1 Single Player. I enjoyed it, but after not having seen the dedicated servers on MW1, and the numerous hacks available for it, my attention to the game dwindled to relatively nothing (Topped out at Prestige 3, Rank 39, +1.4 K/D).
It was sad to let that game go... but I've plenty of others to keep myself occupied. I don't feel I jumped on the bandwagon, as it really was more of an impulse buy (Hmm... Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 2 looks nice, and the single player of the first one wasn't too bad. I'll give it a go. Hey, at least it's on Steam.)
I did enjoy the game, however.

I would probably get 5 FPS if I played it on my PC xD Console optimized games ftw!
Proprietary Microsoft go f**k yourself! They even made their headset incompatible with regular PC headsets. That is the one big downside of consoles.
Similarly, it always bugs me when PC games are set up to use 360 controllers but no longer let you map buttons on a generic controller. I got GTA IV for the PC partially because I assumed I could use my ps2-like logitech controller, but no. Stupid companies wanting money and stuff.
I guess it is something about the previous games that makes MW2 not worth the money, because I certainly enjoyed it enough for my money to be well spent.
(it is the only CoD I have played, and seen)
haha ya its my favorite game. and iv played a total of 13 days and some odd hours and still going up everyday. it is the #1 most sold game EVER.

Quality over quantity, just because it sold well doesn't mean it's good.
They've just managed to put everything into the game which your average joe from across the street would find appealing: guns, violence, shooting at people from other countries etc. etc.
If they threw in a Burberry cap somewhere on the front of the case i'm sure they would have got atleast another million or so from the chavs who'd buy it.
Of course there is no shortage of games, both good and bad, that have all those same things.
The great sales were a combination of good marketing, good reputation built by predecessors in the series and good reviews/word of mouth. I've only played the game briefly, but I think the latter of those is certainly some evidence of quality.
I have to say the game is great in making it realistic. Also the movements are very smooth compared to other games. The game does have quality ill give it that.
But I was disappointed from day 1. It just has something big thats missing. All of my friends ended playing CoD5 for the zombies. And I picked up Unreal Tournament 3.
Very sad.
I play on Ps3 so I couldn't imagine how bad it is on Pc.
btw Even UT3 has dedicated servers on PS3.- Highly recommend
