I'm really sorry to see that happen to your family, Thas. If you don't mind me asking, do you know how? And you don't need to apologize, bro, these things happen and you can't help it. And like Ferret said, you wouldn't ned to apologize even if you had no reason at all for no longer playing.
I've stopped raiding now, I'm afraid I may accidentally raid too many times, although I guess since its an inactive player, it doesn't matter?

I think the same rules apply as far as you're just not supposed to pillage someone more than so many time a day. I think I've pillaged a single town up to three times in a day once and nothing bad came of it.
For the most part, it's difficult to even pillage as many times are you're not supposed to. What I do is have enough gunsmen to pillage as many times as my action points will allow me. So besides my capital, I've got about five gunmen in my colonies because I can pillage up to five times before running out of action points.
It's mostly fair game on the inactive players. Sometimes they do come back online and will see they have been pillaged fifty times over by a number of players, and it's unlikely they would single you out or make a fuss out of it anyway. Gold is easily regained and resources need to be pillaged otherwise they stop producing anyway.
Yeah, well remembering to pillage and not over raiding, I decided to attack all the nearby inactive towns. That should help some resource production, especially with wine and wood. =)

As I've stated before though, pillaging really yields mostly gold. You can get decent resources from a town though if it hasn't been pillaged in a really long time. Like that time I got about 3000 marble in a single pillage. But every subsequent raid on his yielded much lower returns. Gold remains just about as high though.
Yeah but I need as many resources as I can take, right about now. Only 14 days til Eco future, and man how I need it. Without 2 marble colonies, I am just not producing enough marble. =/
Gold would be nice though, for the trading post and buying more ships. man I wish I had more ships... 50 just don't do anymore.

We all need as many resources as we can get. I also only have one marble city, due to my planting a colony of sulfur (idiot!). If only I had planted a second marble colony and then I could trade marble for sulfur with you. I'm thinking about actually replanting the colony once all my research is maxed out. But I've got a level 16 academy on my sulfur island and so I kind of need it. Sulfur colonies are also good for income obviously.
But as far as trading posts go, I never can find a deal with mine. I'm surrounded by too many high players that never rely on trade.
And I'm surprised I have more trade ships than you.
You don't need to tell me about the benefits of pillaging. As we speak I have about 18 towns being pillaged. Once they all return, I'm about to soften up a recently inactive player with a formidable military score. I'll lose quite a few troops in the process, but it's going to be more fun than my usually pillaging.
Can I join the "Alliance"? I've started playing two days ago and it's pretty fun. My town level is only 3, but I just started learning. I may need a little time to upgrade all my stuff. It takes a real long time for some reason.:D Do I have to be on a certain realm or something? I noticed there are quite a few.

I like the life I lived, because I went from negative to positive.
You know very well who you are, don't let them hold you down, reach for the stars.
Hey Diablo fenatic, glad to see you've joined the latest fad with us. And there are about 7 different servers, if i recall correctly. The one we play on is Gamma, and therefore you have to create your account on Gamma, and thats the only one you can go on - if you wish to be with us. We had tried to go onto Zeta when it was first opened, but everyone else seemed to quit that world, so we shut it down.
But we understand, it takes a while to start up in this game and get a good grasp of it. if you need help on how to start, don't be afraid to ask for our opinions, or check out Ferret and mine's guide, also stickied in this forum section.

Um, any chance anyone could send me some spare marble? I'm sitting on a glass island, but I still only have one colony and, well... lol. Magistral [52:58]
Magistrate, I can send you some marble as soon as my trade fleet returns. Would 3,000 suffice for now? Or are your upgrades getting to be more expensive than that?
If tis only 1 colony, he shouldn't be needing much marble at all. I remember when I started off with a crystal colony, I only got an extra 300 marble or so from ferret, and even then I didn't use most of it. What I did was rush to get a high academy, and then rush for the expansion upgrade and palace.
ANd don't take it personally, I'm not trying be rude, Maggie. ^^' I'll gladly send a little bit of marble (not too much, I need a lot for myself, yeah me greedy). But if Siay wishes to, then that shall be.
If you need anything else, juste demandez-moi!

Diablo, you won't be able to join for a bit, and don't try to rush too much. My biggest suggestion is that you try and max out your workers production, as well as academic research, those are KEY things to focus on when you start.
