I get what you're saying man, and aesthetically I don't think the two games look all that different, so I'm not sure what you're saying.
There are obvious differences in gameplay / perspective because they are 2 different types of game genre. Also GoW3 can obviously push the graphical boundary more than D3 can -- see Bashiok's post yesterday where again it is referenced that Blizzard is trying to make the game beautiful but they aren't attempting to make a game that is graphically 'cutting edge' -- they feel an obligation to their fans / customers to make sure as many people can play D3 as possible with a range of computer setups that is essentially infinite.
Oh yeah, it absolutely does. I'm not really much of a console gamer but it never fails to surprise me how developers are able to push the graphics every generation even on the same hardware they've been developing on for years.
While the graphical quality of GoW3 provides a more realistic experience, Diablo3 counters this with a more believable color palette. Not to mention, Diablo3 on consoles wouldn't be that good of an idea.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
Graphics aren't blizz greatest quality. Every blizz game have are "obsolete" in terms of graphic, compared to other game of the same genre.
However i think D3 models need to look better... The monster are terrible, looks almost like sacred 2 for god sake ?? Thats the only point i'm not liking in D3. Despite what Bashiok said, they could do much better, through the Fallen Ones model looks nice.
About GoW3, it really looks amazing. God of War is such a great game in every possible aspect... GoW2 is a perfect game imo.
If this is what D3 looked like.... I don't even know what I would do.
But something would happen.
Something intense.
These graphics for D4 are a good idea though, by then computers will have advanced by leaps and bounds, and this type of thing will easily be possible.

LOL dude computers have been alot more powerful then consoles for a long time now.... maybe if your poor they arent...haha...

.... Thats the point I'm trying to get across here.
I mean that those levels of graphics will be easy to acheive for even low end computers eventually.

Id say a low end computer could easily handle god of war 3 right now to be honest :S....im on a crappy little dell laptop now with a 512 video card and even I can manage to run crysis on medium to high with some crazy mods and have a decent enough frame rate and we all know crysis is far beyond anything in GOW3
Haha, true.
The computer I have right now can barely handle anything, I've got a temporary computer basically, just using it while I wait to get my new pc.
But still, GOW3 style graphics would murder most pc's running a diablo style game.
The amount of monsters in screen for example, would put a whole lot of strain on any computer.
I remember times back in D2 where it wasn't uncommon to have over 40 monsters on screen, like the fallen camps, or the sewers in Act 3 with all those damn fetishes :(.

I wouldn't say it's far beyond it. God of War 3 is very impressive looking. As good as Crysis? Probably not. But it is damn close. And considering the hardware it's running on and what they've achieved visually including a near constant 60 frames per second... well it's one hell of an achievement. Go check the live demo if you don't believe me. It is something you need to see in motion to truly appreciate.
yeah, but it's always much easier to push hardware to the max, cause you can use the short cuts and massively optimize games for the specific hardware, it's true that desktop computers can destroy PS3s.
It's just that the PS3 has an OS that is developed to playing games, while most of us have a multipurpose OS like windows/OS X or what ever. Stack that up with hardware that they know inside out and you can make games that are beautiful and that'll get nice frame rates too.
nvidia use to be good now they suck and make shitty cards. look up the geforce 8600 news articles. they released faulty cards and never made a recall. ATI all the way. i use to be a nvidia fan till they started making crap.

You're absolutely right. I'm just saying that Crysis isn't the massive leap in graphics it used to be, however, it still is the best looking game on the market.

A) Come to a Console like Xbox 360, PS3
FULL 3D!
C) Cinematic gameplay
And, sadly, it wasn't.
On Tuesday, when Sony showed God Of War 3, I immediately thought that it's what I wanted Diablo 3 to look like, but with the Diablo elements instead.
Well, maybe Diablo 4 we can do it like that!
See...
