I sat next to the drummer Chad Smith for the Peppers at a drum clinic (either Dave Weckl or Rod Morgenstein was playing) in San Francisco in the 1990's. I didn't know who the guy was until people came up to me at the end and were asking me if I knew him. I was pretty clueless, I spoke to Rod Morgenstein for 30 minutes before his clinic and didn't have a clue he was the guy playing
I dont know man, what makes people think that a new president wont repeat the same bullshit all over again? All politicians are liars. A really good video though.. plays on the emotional side of every American i suppose... I hope people who watch this are aware that its talking about Iraq and Afghanistan...
How can anyone know that Ron Paul wont do as Obama did and as many others?
I think that the next 4 years for the US people will be the most significant in the last century. Either the people force a change in the political construct, or the people will still and always be lied to and mislead like sheep.
I hope that the Occupy Wallstreet movement is the start of this change.

Both parties are bought and paid for, Ron Paul however while a few things I don't agree with him on, is probably the last honest politician in the US, or it would seem. He has been saying the same thing for over 30 years, he has never changed his tune, and he is closer to what Republicans originally were than any of the Republicans out there today. The media doesn't want this guy as president and they have tried to marginalize him the best they can as not being a contender because he would get rid of the IRS, the Federal Reserve, and pull the troops home. He really would get our deficit spending down and return us to using gold and silver as money, not a gold standard but really use it as money. Don't worry you wouldn't have to carry around a bunch of coins they've figured out how to make it work with debit cards. I wish we had some real candidates to pick from, as I see it, he is the only viable choice because the rest of them are full of shit. It won't matter who the president is after the next one if we don't get our house in order now.
Hit you tube and watch Ron Paul and Ben Bernanke do their endless dance, Ron Paul continually destroys Bernanke's positions, here is one small example:
It would be refreshing to see an American president that actually stands for his words and has a voice of his own. Not just another puppet. But i dont know, this sounds too imaginary xD
Some people prefer to keep their strategic interests intact even if it means bringing down the whole US economy. These are the people who the US people should be most aware of. *cough

Aye, this is the most admirable trait of Paul. He does not give one iota of one fuck about his party line. He votes based on his outspoken ideology. You're never suprised by what he says.

I don't know who that applies to more: Wall Street or Congressmen representing their local fat-cats and lobbyists. Both seem equally guilty to me at this juncture.

That happened to a student on our cross country team a few years ago, except it was a white-tail deer. Kicked him square in the temple when it tried to jump over him. Beware the herbivores!
On an 8th grade field trip we went to ride donkeys at a donkey farm. Anyway, every pair took a donkey so one person is always holding the rope and walking next to the donkey. So, im walking holding the rope ( LOL) and there is a girl like 30 feet away from me so i hear a donkey running i look back and i see this raging donkey running right past me, i loof forward and i see him leaping into the air and delivering a crazy 2 legged strike to the girl's ass!!!!!!!!!!!
TRUE STORY
It was too funny for me to laugh... I just couldnt laugh!
Oh and she rubbed her ass and went like "Ohh" with a smile accompanied by a crying face xD
Oh! the donkey just kept running straight forward after that!

I really don't get the hype behind Ron Paul. I don't get how people can say, "well, all politicians are bought," and then turn around and say, "THIS GUY IS SUPER SERIOUS and definitely NOT A PUPPET OF THE TOP 1%!"
As Link said, some of his policies just make me cringe. I would not want this guy in office pushing his agenda, no matter how "pure" he was as a person. The thing we have to realize, as citizens of the United States of America, is that our political participation (or lack thereof) is a major contributor to our current situation. If we had a public that was more in tune with the issues of today, we would have more effective government. Sometimes it's not just the leaders; we can't just sit back and expect that things get better just because there is that one person who we think will make it all better. Our system of government is complicated and it will be hard as hell to get it back on track. It's not as simple as voting out all the incumbents; it requires years of investigation and correction.
Benjamin Franklin said that we have a Republic "if we choose to keep it." We should be able to show this through our participation, but since we have very little participation, it almost seems like we don't even know what to do with it.
Do some research. Don't just assume things about people. Find the politician who you agree with the most and don't just judge a book by its cover. If you want to seriously fix this country, you need to seriously get involved. Sitting at home and posting videos will do little to stop this unless the people who are behind this forum take the incentive to actually get involved. You can bring a horse to water, but you can't make them drink.
Both the people and the politicians are to blame for the situation we're in. Take that into account before you go screaming Ron Paul's name from the rooftops. One man isn't going to magically fix every problem in our government and I doubt that one man can effectively get started. There are thousands of people in our government.
And before you go around saying that Ron Paul will spawn rainbow unicorns in the sky that shit skittles if he's elected, take into account the idea that some, if not many, of his ideas will probably die upon arrival in our House and Senate.

There may be hope for your generation after all. +1
Only about half of the people in the US actively participate in our democracy. That means that only 25% of our population chooses our president. Even less than that choose our house representatives and senators.
It's goddamn pathetic. Please, before you even consider saying that the US has a problem, acknowledge that we, AS A PEOPLE, have a goddamn problem when it comes to politics.
Also take into account the bias of various media outlets. We have a free marketplace of ideas and that means that any idea, no matter how far from the truth it may be, will be broadcasted, read, and eventually acknowledged by more than one person. For example, Sarah Palin and her "death panels." She had no backing to what she said, but people gobbled it up because they wanted to oppose Obama's plan and would grab at anything that they thought would make it look bad.
This isn't politics; this is warfare and every American who doesn't participate is caught in the crossfire.
Read a goddamn book.

I'm not responding to these two quotes, just want it out there more so people will have a higher chance to read it. This is pretty much the exact way I feel about politics. (A few minor details here and there, but 99% of it is right on.)
Also, why the hell didn't anybody tell me about this video??
The comforting thing about Ron Paul is he never changes his stance on things. After all this crap we've been through with presidents waffling I'd at least like one honest person in the White House.
