Soooo I love pets, and I'm actually really lucky to have my silly kitten.
I joke around and say she's all beauty and no brains
Oko's Story
A couple of girls from work went to Tennessee to go White Water Rafting. They came across a kitten who was no more than 8 weeks old. She was all skin and bones and not far from where they found her was a few scattered corpses of her dead siblings. My best friend at work, (we'll call her A) instantly started crying when she saw this (she loves animals more than people). They played with the kitten and fed her, who despite being weak and frail, was full of life and bouncing from person to person. A wanted to take the cat home with her to Alabama, but her boyfriend (who she lives with) said she already has too many pets. When A and C got back from their weekend vacation, they were telling me about this kitten who they left with the owners of the White Water Rafting company near the Ochoe River. The owners said they could feed her scraps but they weren't going to keep her, but that A could come back and pick her up in a few weeks. A was looking for a home for her and naturally I volunteered. I planned to only foster her until we could find her a suitable home, but I instantly fell in love with her, nursed her to a healthy weight and now she's basically my child. We decided to name her Ochoe after the river where she was found, but I call her Oko for short, unless she's in trouble than I use her full name
She's just about the sweetest kitten in the entire world. She follows me everywhere, she loves to sit on my PlayStation even when it's not warm from being turned on. She likes to chase me around the house and pounce on me when I'm walking around corners. I have to keep the door open when I take a shower because she likes to sit in there and play in tub. She just has the best personality and I love that about her, even when she's being a bad kitty it's hard to stay mad at her. She's about 8 months old now and still just as silly.
I have so many funny stories about her, but I'll start the thread off with this one, which just happened the other day.
Silly Kitten
Everyday when I come home, Oko runs to the door to greet me and meow until I pick her up and give her kisses. But the other day I was rushing when I got home because I had gotten off work late and my boyfriend and I had plans to go see the Avengers. So I put my purse on the counter and ran to the bathroom to take a shower. Naturally, Oko is at my heels meowing at me, as if she's saying "mom" to get my attention. While I'm at the sink letting my hair down and putting my hair ties away, Oko lets out this really LOUD and LONG meow as if the whole time she had been saying "mom, mom, mom, MOOOOoOOoOOOOoOOMMMM!!" just like a little kid would hahah. So of course that made me laugh and I scooped her up and gave her kisses and she stopped meowing.
Bahaha so anyway, share your pet stories! Tell us about your pets, post pictures! Do your pets act like little kids too?
Sooo... my question is. If you get a wolf how will you keep it? As a dog? Or outside and in a pack?
I cannot understand for the love of god why people keep these animals as pets. Cause they are not pets, they are in fact wild animals - its in their instinct.
You can never truely trust a wolf, thats whats it all boils down to and bad shit is bound to happen.
I beg of you - do research and ALOT of it before getting one.
And saying that you know someone who keeps a wolf as a pet, who says that they are the best and never had any problems with them says nothing. As I said before its all about instincts.
I myself am very facinated by the animal and I love pets, but not in my wildest dreams could i think of getting 1 as a pet.
Never said they didn't have problems and never said they don't remain wild.
I, in fact, have done a great deal of research on all forms of canine (part of my studies as well). I understand what is required to keep one and I would not keep it in a house or a backyard.
A wild animal, especially a wolf, requires a substantial amount of freedom when it comes to 'yard' size. I understand the feeding requirements and all the 'downfalls' of owning such a pet.
I have no intention of going into this blindly and I won't be keen to take one if I can look after it properly in terms of food and yard space.
They are majestic animals and I understand every concern you just brought forth, but I can look after a wild animal and I'd must rather let one of the pups come to me than someone who just was "OMGZ!!! I WANTZ A WOLV!!"
If I cannot take care of the pup or I realize my mistake I'll contact someone who can - however, I doubt that will happen.
I don't have any pets to take pictures of, but I totally love the idea of this thread. CorDa616 all I could think of from your post was Game of Thrones.
@Pixii - That's an awsome story. I prefer to get a cat/dog at our local shelter if I ever wanted a pet in the future. But the thing is, I'm allergic to cats...bleh. So I can't let them near my face or pick then up without washing my hands afterwards. It's a tedious thing to do, but it's one thing I'll do for the love of a kitteh (cheezy yeah). But even if they're just near me, the dander gets in my face and I'm ruined for the rest of the day...This however is what I thought of when you said bad kitty:
As for my pets when I still lived at home, we (mostly I [mostly me?]) had one cat on different occasions. The sad story is that we have neither at this moment.
Our first cat was just a normal cat. But at that time we also had two dogs, one which was a Fox Terrier, that stayed outside in the backyard. And of course we wanted all of them to live peacefully around each other. So as usual, we "introduced" them to each other by holding each pet and the cat near them the dogs. But obviously this didn't go well. We did this a couple of times with no success. And we closed the windows that lead to the backyard so the cat can't get out. But one day we left a window open and the inevitable happened...I was devastated; I was 12 or 13 years old then. I cried all night, worst pet experience ever!
Our second cat was a lot like the first one, but my mom got this one at the school she was teaching from one of her students. What made this kitty unique is that it had a twisted tail, like a piggy's!! It was awesome!! This is the only pic I have with me:
You can actually see the piggy-like tail!! I will constantly play with when ever I was near him.
And this is just a couple of pics of my bro and his gf's cat:

I have the same problem. They are by far the coolest dog, but they get all kinds of illnesses in this kind of weather.
