It's been a damn long time comin', the Verizon iPhone is to be announced tomorrow at Verizon's news convention in NYC.
I follow Mac Rumors very closely for the latest rumors, and news on Apple. For months now everything has been pointing to a big event from both Apple, and Verizon. Between break cuts from both companies, the two CEO's seen out together, and ATNT's iPhone contract running out mid last year, it all pointed to it. Now, we have news from inside sources who've been proven consistent before.

Verizon claims it can handle the millions that will be switching over, and using the iPhone. Guess we'll have to wait and see!

I'm planning on upgrading from my iPod Touch 2nd Gen to the latest iPhone once I get my full time job when my spring semester ends.
Nice~ Keep in mind Apple releases a new generation of products every year without fail, the iPhone refresh is normally in June, so you might want to wait for the iPhone 5!

The Verizon iPhone was just announced, they seem to have changed to antenna.. I still would wait for the 5th gen lol.
Sadly, no real news on the iPad 2 . It's supposedly going to have a higher resolution screen (which I don't believe is true, upgrading the screen already would give the app developers a lot of problems with the old iPad apps, not to mention piss off the 1st gen people a lot.), a front, and rear facing camera, a faster processor, and a slighting different shape, more like the new iPods how the back is flat, but the corners are curved, this'll let it sit flat on it's back without wobble, and make it a small amount thinner. Everything but the higher screen resolution is likely. Though I hope it's all true..

Ipad (2) needs flash support imo. It's best as a web surfing device and incompatibility with a large share of the internet ruins the whole concept.
You can download other browsers from the app store which support flash. Though admittedly it doesn't run as good as on a windows device. Though it truly is Adobe's fault, there's been a long standing stand off between Steve Jobs and Adobe, after following it for a while you see it's really Adobe who refuses to give at all. Apple strives to make the smoothest, most dependable product possible, which involves having to cut off the loose ends, flash sadly being one of them .

Yeah that's something that does suck about Verizon. Though during the press conference Verizon said how when they get the 4G network up can running this year, than the data/voice feature will be available, not to mention video chatting over 4G.

Verizon's assumed term "4G" or really LTE is already available but only as a hookup to your laptop for mobile broadband. The phones that can actually use Verizon's "4G" are supposed to come out this year, but I doubt it will be the iphone. I was hoping for LTE iphone but Apple likes to control their product line, and they don't want users to notice a difference in the same product just because it's running on different carriers. So because things are kept leveled, basically you're not going to see a "4G" iphone until AT&T implements 4G as well... and who knows when that will be, 2012?
Also, if existing AT&T iphone users want to switch over to Verizon they can keep the software by backing it up, but because of Verizon's CDMA network, they'll have to buy a new phone. Still feels a little awkward on the timing but overall a win for Verizon imo.
I like how companies say they have 4G when they really don't even have 3G. We haven't reached the potential of 3G yet and the towers out there right now can't even support 4G speeds, yet they up the cost and give us almost nothing.
True G4 which at this point only Verizon's LTE 4G network can uphold (though the others are working to reach a true 4G standard by 2012) is truly A LOT faster than even the best 3G connection. The few areas who have it right now are raving about it. Mobile G4 supplied wi-fi is like having a cable connection from the videos I seen of users.

I had to do a report about this awhile ago. If I remember correctly 4G is capable of 100Mbps and 3G is capable of 10Mbps. Currently 3G is at around 2-4Mbps. What they consider 4G might be faster but it's more like a 3.5G
It's not up to it's potential for sure. Right now Verizon's average 4G is 50-60 mbps. With the money put into maximizing 3G we can cover a lot of area with midrange 4G. I think over the next 2 years it'll mature.

As for a date, Feb-Mar seems most likely.
