Ok I got this problem and since I dont know how to do exponents on the keyboard without confusing you I will just write out the word of the number when I do that it just simply means an exponent
2m^4 * n^-2 * (2n^4)^3 (I just put the * in there for clarity it means multiply)
The answer I got was 12m^4 * n^10
but the answer that is in the answer chart is 16m^4 * n^10
Can anyone explain what I did wrong? Thanks!

98% of the teenage population does or has tried smoking pot. If you're one of the 2% who hasn't, copy & paste this in your signature.

well, if you do the stuff in your parenthesis (2(n^4))^3 you get:
2(m^4)(n^-2)(8n^12)
2 x 8 = 16, not 12.

Two to the fifth power times eighty-nine:
(2^5) * 89
well, if you do the stuff in your parenthesis (2(n^4))^3 you get:
2(m^4)(n^-2)(8n^12)
2 x 8 = 16, not 12.
