You think that's lame? How about the fact that Mephisto's Lament voted for himself? I'd say THAT'S lame! This? This is intelligent! I'm regretting that I didn't think of it myself!
Um, why is that lame? I was once in one of these polls and I voted for myself. Why wouldn't I? Besides the fact that none of it matters, actually, that's all that matters-is that none of it matters. So who cares if someone votes for themselves?
Especially if they just want to see if they can win for the hell of it? Do you think people running for office don't vote for themselves? And no one minds if they do.
What's especially lame is complaining about someone else voting for themselves. I just really hope Dauroth that you weren't being serious.
In any given election, a person is perfectly justified to vote for themselves. It may seem like bad form to one person, but there is simply nothing technically wrong with doing it.
Well, in any case, I'm making a note of the situation so that next year this won't be an issue. I don't really think one vote makes that much a difference, seeing as the gap between first and second is so large at the moment.
Me, personally? I'd prefer it if everyone voted for someone else. But, logically, there isn't anything really wrong with it, and one vote doesn't seem to be a big issue. I'm hoping, after learning some things this year, that next year more people will want to vote in the final poll. There was a bunch of crap started in the nominations that deterred a lot of people from the final vote, I think, as well as disorganization and poor planning on my part.
they already posess the custom title, which kind of defeats the purpose of competition..
The only reason a custom title is the award this year is because there wasn't anything else I could think of right now. I'm hoping next year I'll have some better way of awarding the winner, as well as awards for second and third place.

Yeah. I'd much prefer have that than invite random people to join this forum and vote for me for no good reason, right? Oh well.
Only three of the people who have voted for me are random. Everyone else I know from a conversation or we helped one another.
Additionally, I feel that advertising this forum would involve many members that otherwise may become sedentary. When they click the link, they see all of the options, and can reassess their choice.
I see both ways why a staff member should/ should not be included:
Should:
Because they are members like all of us who deserve recognition
Should not:
Because they are always performing their named duties, and if they weren't then they would just be a bad staff member. And to have a staff member nominated would reveal that many people would much rather vote for a him than an average member who does not have the resources nessecary to help people in the ways the staff member has.
So I think the Staff members should have a poll for themselves.

Also, I have no problem with Mephisto voting for himself. My attitude to this whole thing is 'May the best win'.
A little more than 15 days to go until the final poll is closed- keep voting!
1. Blackwing with 10 votes.
2. -Mephisto's Lament- with 9 votes.
3. Killer-Swift with 7 votes.
1. Blackwing with 14 votes.
2. -Mephisto's Lament- with 9 votes.
3. Killer-Swift with 8 votes.

I forget who did it last. I hope next year's doesn't suck as much as this one did. I learned some lessons
Also - I can't find any other year if I search for it.
There isn't a rule on that.
I want to say maybe Stonebreaker did it last time?

Things will be run differently next year
I can understand though some people may vote for a mod/admin for the wrong reasons.
