Hey guys, I am making another poll on zelda games lol. This time I am asking what you think the next zelda (The one announced to be in development for the Wii i believe...i think it is officialy on the wii lol) game should have for the art style. Should it go back to cel shaded style, stay realistic like OoT, MM, and TP, or go in a style that is new all together? That being said, I think any other style for a zelda game would be odd and not fitting, such as madworlds style lol.
I personally love both existing styles, but think id go with the more realistic look.
I need to feel awesome when I'm playing Zelda. Windwaker didn't let me do that (except when I got the cannon upgrade for the boat, that made me feel pretty cool).
i'm okay with either, wind waker was a very well done game. and i think the cell shading fit the story line well. if we're playing as older link in this new game i think realistic would be the way to go. don't think cartoony older link would work to well hah
Ok so technically Twilight Princess is cel shading, but it's not cel shading like The Wind Waker now is it.
I loved the art style of OOT (also I dug the older looking link.) Got kinda pissed off with TWW when it came out, fun gameplay but graphically I found it lacking conpared to OOT. Then TP came out and I was blown away, then they did it again with Phantom Hourglass, back to the colourful flowery childish graphics of TWW. I hope the next one is more like TP, and not just in terms of graphics, I want an older Link too.
I grew up with Zelda games, im 24 now, I can't keep playing games where the main protagonist is 8 years old forever, give me back my mature Link dammit!

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.

Well, if you want to get technical, Twilight Princess is running on The Wind Waker's engine. Just very very modified. Hmm, I guess it would make sense that Twilight Princess is cell shaded, considering...
Still, graphics are damn good for a Gamecube title... (And if anyone says it's a Wii title, I'll....kick you in the nuts... Yea...)
I really enjoyed the cel shaded look of WW, and wouldn't mind if they made another one like that, but I'd prefer the more realistic look of TP. I'm under the impression that many people don't like the cel shaded look and prefers realism, while very very few dislikes the realistic style and prefers cel shading. So choosing the realistic style would appeal to a wider audience, which makes more sense to do.
all of them are awesome, however i really enjoyed the sea-life in wind waker. Art wise i say go back to the basics because in TP he looked like he had downs
None of the games are to realistic, they all have a cartoony look in some way or another. Cell shading sucks most of the time but TP looked good. WW graphics I hated though, and adult link pwns kid link, except in OOT, they are equal there imo. Realistic approach is best for Zelda but I base everything off of OOT cause it was the best one of them all.
Cell Shading ALL the way! WW was dope and anyone who says otherwise is a visionless hater! Reptar has spoken, that is all.

my religion.....
Idk. If it's from Nintendo, it's guaranteed gold.
Of course my favorite Zelda game was a link to the past.

It should be a bannable offense to even think things like that... o.O

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
