This is a speedpaint (finished in only 5 hours). It's not as cleaned up as the Baltar painting, but it's a little bit more original. I didn't base it off an existing image, only an existing scene. I wanted to capture a feeling, as opposed to a moment.
Another great one! You have some awesome talent there Jet.
Happy parents.:cute:

I'm confused. If you have this much talent, why waste it on paintings of characters from a mediocre science fiction show?? You should be working on grander things. You definitely have the talent.

First of all, it's a great show. You obviously don't know what you're talking about. Second of all, I am planning on attending Art School in a few years, getting a degree, working in the business. (Well, that or theatre - which really is my true passion. Still, it's actually easier to get work as an artist these days than as an actor).
Wow, at first I thought that the picture displayed was an image from the show, and you were linking below that to your rendition of it. That looks like a snapshot. If realism is what you were going for, you hit the nail on the head
Yeah lol, the best compliments are from people who get angry at you for being so good.
What resolution/number of pixels/dpi did you paint that in? Its incredibly detailed, especially the guy's face with his wrinkles and facial hair, but I guess most of the details are from you shrinking it down so much?

5 hours is just crazy.
I painted it at 4320 x 2700. Of course, at that res it looks like complete shit. Sizing it down makes it look good!
I'm so happy. I could never do this on my old computer. I had to paint at like 1440 x 900 (1/3rd the res) because the system just couldn't handle anything bigger. This new comp is brilliant as is CS4. It's a good combination.
well i cant really comment because i didnt start to watch season 4... ima just wait till the show is done then buy them on dvd then watch them
*i stopped watching them as i started to get pissed off as the story went from normal and awesome to less than normal and definitely not awesome. I just loved the idea of them running away and having to repair their ships and just barely get by. was awesome but now... bla its like completely bloody different

I think the color scheme is a bit too pale, or at least you could have added some vibrant values somewhere. But regardless, it's very good.
The anatomy is flawless in my opinion. I don't really need to do a paintover here.

I used this picture for reference: http://13thcolony.files.wordpress.com/2009/01/tigh-caprica1.jpg?w=450&h=253
I kept Tigh (the old guy, for those who don't know) more or less the same, but I wanted to be able to see Six.
