Uhh, what? If anything, Ron Paul want the complete opposite. He want to get rid of the Electoral College (which I agree with). Anyway, I'm vote Bob Barr. Third party just seem the way to go right now.
But, the election truly does mean jack. Your vote is counted, tallyed up with everyone else's vote, looked upon closely, laughed at, sneezed on, and tossed away as the electoral colleges make the decision of who the next pres will be. You voting one way or another makes not a lick of difference.
(And yea, that really is the truth. Look up how presidents are elected. Maybe not sneezed on, but your vote isn't used for any major issue. And as Govenor Bush has shown, you don't need the popular vote to be pres, just the electoral vote. (And a good brother as a govenor of a keystone state. That always helps.) )
And I always thought Ron Paul was pro big government... I gotta look into his stuff again....
Anyway, I'd like the elections to be revamped, along with 90% of the US Government and government funded organizations.
That is what is important to me. But, the president will be choosen for us and we will clap and smile and die a little inside.
In the end we will do away with Debate and Voting so why bother? People only care about Acting as they please without frustration and their quality of life. Democracy's days are numbered, in the end either Communism or a hive mind society will spring from the ground in the form of a Computer/Human symbiotic relationship. The grand rewards of Capitalism will be lost in blind hate for psuedo-elitism
Our philosophies of our way of life and what the perfect government format is, is a constantly evolving thought.

I was actually referring to what Obalobex said which is 1:1 copy from the movie. I wasn't talking to you at all and it's funny how you tell me not to make assumptions when you're not taking your own advice.
I've never voted in any elections and I don't plan to start. The best way to show that you think they're a bunch of corrupt morons is to not vote at all, not choosing the "lesser evil".
I have seen several documentaries, most all using the same or similar facts to show the reality of the state of most first-world countries. I am not repeating something because I heard it in a single movie.
My opinion is based on facts, not on someone else's opinion.

You're tiring my brow with how much I keep having to furrow it. Think carefully about what you're saying. In the end, we will do away with debate and voting so why bother? What you're acknowledging with that statement is that even if we really will do away with those things, we still have yet to. So in other words, we should bother because as of now, we still have debating and voting. Get it?

Democracy's days are numbered
I'm willing to entertain this notion for a bit. In a sense, you are correct. Democracy is always under threat from some external or internal force. Sometimes is prevails, other times it doesn't. As of now though, I see it prevailing more worldwide than I see it diminishing.

Okay, now you're just being moronic and you've finally convinced me to close this thread. Communism, like democracy may also come and go. It is not the end all for of government. And your hive mind society that springs up from the ground is either your customized stamp of stupidity, or the zenith of your facetiousness. If it is the latter, then I salute you, sir.

Sure it is. But in your opinion, we should just abandon models such as democracy and voting because you have foreseen that they will come to an end eventually. So what's the point of even trying, right? If in the end we're just gonna spring up from the ground as computer/human people looking to copulate with bees.
