I've always been a really huge fan. From the Shannara books all the way to the Phantom Menace.
It always kinda irked me how he is characterized as "Riding on the coat-tails of Tolkien", and not true fantasy.. Thoughts? or other fans?

Awesome! Pisses me off when they say that he isn't reinventing some of the Fantasy universe.
Is Gypsy Morph one of his unification books? Where he is tying some of his series together?

Yeah, it's the ending book of the first part of the Genesis of Shannara series, which is tying the Word and Void trilogy (our time) with the Shannara series (the future.) I'm very excited and can't wait to read it.
Have you read the Word and Void trilogy yet? The first book is slow to start, but trust me, it's definitely worth it.
I read a couple of them in high school. I've been thinking about picking up the new series forever. But with money getting tighter and tighter.. Getting harder and harder to allocate money.

Yeah, that'll probably start affecting me once I'm out of the house, which is sooner than I'd like (not that I don't want to live on my own and not be a moocher, but being able to get your parents to buy you a book is a priceless gift.)
Anyway, I'd highly recommend you read the entire Word and Void trilogy first, and then go on to read the Genesis trilogy. You can start with Genesis, but many of the concepts won't make sense. And of course you should also finish them because they're amazing
Oh i've got no doubt of that! I've loved Brooks and most of his work... I'll try and pick them up sometime soon.

Only book I have read from him was first king of shannara. I liked it, and will try to check out the sword of shannara series if they are at the library.
