I don't really get all this. PCaction has something or they have nothing. And are using OURSELVES as marketing tools for their mag.
PCgamer is a world renowned mag and they quickly denied and shot down any rumours of D3. Because it's not like they need publicity. Whether they do or do not have info at all.
So my questions are as such:
1. Why would blizzard tell a bunch of mags about D3 before it's announced? Is it to get worldwide coverage of the announcement as it happens? Cause they really don't need that, I mean, we're here.
2. Wouldn't it be risky business to let leak some of this info to a bunch of mags? What sort of legal course must be taken in order to keep a secret?
3. Is PCaction giving us all this rope so that we keep on our toes, because it's not like they need to?
MD you've got a lot of experience in the media. What do you think?
wow i can't believe you really thought pc mag would announce D3?
+their clues were all towards lord of the rings. ~~ ring of fire, hell breaks loose, etc...
hints for diablo would be: king of evil has comed back, demon power has returned, etc...
but sorry to dissapoint again D3 won't be revealed at WWI.

Clue: PC Action said they would not reveal it even if "hell froze over and cows gave beer." That's what made us think it was D3

I can't see how people actually thought some scrub PC magazine in Germany was going to announce, or have an exclusive Diablo 3 story.
That makes no sense at all. Why would Blizzard, an American company, give an exclusive to a German magazine? That's not even printed in English, to boot? Just for fun? That makes no sense what-so-ever. I could MAYBE understand if it was a company in Paris, since the WWI is taking place there, but Germany? Jesus, let's use our brains here. There's not one good reason why that mag would've gotten an exclusive story, yet some of you carried on about it.
pc action stated in the newest issue, on the last page, that they can reveal something next issue. who cares about the cover on the actual issue? lö5r4ööööööötzzzzz (that was my cat walking over my keyboard. small tiger can really make out things ;))
i asked in the pc action forum for any diablo related things and nobody told something about the cover.
I never insinuated that the cover was diablo. You missed my entire point.

You guys are all grossly out of topic. Lets bring it back.
As for the cover, does anyone have a subscription to PC Action who can tell us what's going on? Provide a scan for us if so.

If only... And there will never be a WoW 2...

its going to be "Titus The Fox - The Return of an Old Evil", its a diablo 2 expansion where you find out that there is a Prime Evil that is a pixelated jumping-thrash can throwing-sewer venturing fox from an old platformer.
Were what my post was referring to.

I went ahead and bolded and underlined the key parts. Perhaps now you can understand.
Lets forget this petty matter and focus on the topic at hand. Has anyone seen the cover yet? Not this or last month's, but next month's? In other words, the "new" cover. Regardless of what it is, it would put down alot of confusion among those less willing to understand what is going on.
Does anyone know when they will start setting up for WWI08? As in physically build the tents and stuff? I’ve been dying to find more rumours about Diablo3 that I’ve been everywhere on the web looking.
Found some interesting points. Like the fact that Pardo said the next RTS dev after SCII would be WarcraftIV last year in some interview. And whilst looking at the Starcraft: Ghost entry in Wikipedia noticed that it was categorized as ‘vapourware’, When I looked further into vapourware they had a list of software that is currently vapourware (eg. Duke Nukem Forever) and a list of things that, in the past, were considered vapourware (3G, Bluetooth, Windows Vista, Diablo 2) citing that these products were those that took extensively long to reach release.
Now if you think about Diablo 2 being vapourware at some stage during development, then you start putting 2 + 2 together. The original Diablo was awesome and to make a sequel better than the original, then you have to come up with a game like Diablo 2--- which they did- after long. Having said that, Diablo 2 was such an awesome game that many other companies ‘cloned’ it (Sacred, Titan Quest, somewhat HG:L). And seeing the great job these guys did – except somewhat HG:L – Blizzard would have to take a step back and say, “whoah, Titan Quest is a pretty rad game” or “HG:L (did) incorporate some of the key elements in skills development, how do we top that?”*** And then you jump to today, and ‘if’ they really have been working on Diablo 3. What sort of game would it essentially be? Would it be same sp1 with a little multiplay like D2? Or exactly the opposite? That right there gets me thinking. Will blizzard launch Diablo 3 as a World of -----? (and risk detriment to WoW) Will they risk launching it as the same old hack and slash that’s been done over and over before?
Or
Will they come out with something new and fresh that we haven’t seen yet? Something so cool, it’ll blow us away? The latter kind of justifies the near ten year waiting period we’ve just experienced. Knowing that blizzard actually wants to release an AWESOME game. Not just for their bank accounts but for us aswell, because, you see, Blizzard’s extensive ability to bring out awesome games, each broadly catering for different kinds of gamers, is both their success key and their curse. Because if they release one crap game, that nobody likes, interest in their future productions would decrease. Which brings me to the following:
It would make reasonable sense, if we do not get a Diablo 3 this year (although immensely disappointing) And if (god willing) we do get Diablo 3, It is gonna be one kick-ass game (better be).
Just a thought. Just a thought.
