I'm actually quite glad that they didnt stay, i was afraid of over population, and i was thinking about leaving, which i honestly didnt want to do, i want to stay active and help out where i can, although i havent b provided as much advice and help as i would have liked to recently.
I view aussies the same that i do everyone else, they are cool people most of the time, just like an american, or a canadian, or a irishman, or african, or mexican, or chinaman... you get the picture. but please, stay on topic, one thing i hate is when people start talking about things like how awesome some race of people are when thats completely off topic.

I am never going to understand all you people who are afraid of newcomers and "overpopulation" when this forum seriously lacks active members. I sense the smell of xenophobia here...

honestly, are you trying to start a fight with someone equinox? i've noticed that a few of your posts lately have been pretty negative, and seem as though you have a hate that you need to get off your chest, care to talk? i dont like it when people make posts like these and end up starting unnecessary fights.

If I wanted to start a fight I'd be more specific. But then you can as well say Siaynoq is stating a fight, eh made this thread. I am just supporting him. At least I am not the one here bashing newbies. I am not surprised they don't want to stay if people here are untrusting and afraid.

Look at the log in your own eye, please. You saw 2 posts that weren't fairy happy and now you conclude that I am in a bad mood? Sheesh.

If there is no opposition, nothing ever gets done. I don't want people scaring off my dear noobs.
seeing as how you specifically addressed each thing of my question/statement, im assuming the easy answer is yes, you are, and no, you dont want to talk about it. thanks for coming out so simply and saying so, this conversation is over, im not here to spam and flame up this thread.

Thanx for the warm welcoming peeps, hope we all have a blast waiting for this much anticipated game. For the people that left I dont think they left because they were dissapointed with the last announcement I think they left because there wasn't a point for sticking around for a game thats most likely never to be announced.. They would be back when WWI or Blizcon08 comes around!!!
Generally it seems you guys don't aprove of people trolling, and as a rare-poster one feels quite unwelcome i might add. Doesn't stop me from trolling without logging on though, but it stops me from posting most of the time.
To be perfectly honest, I don't blame you at all. There have been times I'd considered falling back into Lurk Mode soley because the general attitude toward those with recent join dates and low post counts is pretty sour.
The truth is, I don't think many of us mind having lurkers and rare-posters around; every forum has them, so it's nothing out of the ordinary. Unfortunately, it seems those that do mind are often the loudest, drowning out the rest of us that welcome those people with open arms. It's very off-putting, and sometimes I'm amazed that some people manage to stick around at all.
Feeling unwelcome was actually a large reason I left SICK. Sure, a PM or two made me feel pretty good about joining, but when it came to actual discussions on the forum, no one wanted anything to do with me. Conversations I started within the legion I had joined went virtually ignored, as well as any ideas I presented to SICK as a whole. Hell, no one even noticed that I left. I also will not be returning; the attitude turned me off completely. I won't leave the forum, though.

I agree wholeheartedly.
I've said this before, and I'll say it again: Without these newcomers, there would be no community. The forum would be stagnant, people would get tired of sharing the exact same ideas with the exact same people all the time, and members would eventually leave. Now, what good is a forum if there are no members to actually use it?
Every single person here was new at one point, and those of you so concerned with "overpopulation" and being "bogged down" would do good to remember that. You are the people that judge too quickly, and automatically assume that newcomers are capable of only spam and nonsensical posts. That is the furthest thing from the truth; in fact, I've seen more spam and nonsense from the "old crowd" than I've seen with any newcomer (there are exceptions, naturally).
How would you feel if you were new, and this attitude were projected toward you? Would you want to stick around? I highly doubt it.
The attitude around here stinks, and many of you need to get off your high-horses. This is a public forum on the Internet, which means that people are going to find out about it and join. Is it so bad that someone else might share the same hobbies as you, or that someone may be a fan of a game you happen to like?
If you feel so passionately about having a place to talk to your friends without being interrupted by "noobs," you have options. There's AIM, MSN, X-Fire, Yahoo, and ICQ all available for free, as well as free forums like ProBoards that you can have control over.
In short, unless you own DiabloFans.com, you can keep your rotten attitudes to yourselves. The rest of us don't want to hear it.
Hmm, I hope the basic message of my thread was not lost on most of you. In a nutshell, many of our recently new users have already become inactive. But it would seem that a small amount has remained, and I was merely thanking those that stayed.
True, I suppose it is an opinion.
Well, I should change that to I welcome them
