Plain and simple. McCain is going to win overall and "WILL" become presODent.
This is very possible. The Democratic party has those go down in the history books if they got elected candidates so it's unlikely either Clinton or Obama has a chance in the race. Though, the American people can be crazy at times, we'll just have to see in November.

Ï actually put my vote down, and I chose Obama, becase to me it seems that Clinton has been playing dirty at every opporunity she's been given in this race.
Other than that, I cannot really see what differentiates the canditates all that much from each other. The Republicans and Democrats are already similar to begin with when it comes to their politics, and the two democratic candidates differ even less from each other. Though I can't vote (obviously) thus I haven't paid all that much attention.

My mind is simple here. You are unwise, not even worth discussing this. Age is not a factor, and you are proof. If you are 30 and so unwise at this point, I am not all that happy about McCain's age... And, with age, people become less bright, tire faster, forget things...
What I don't like about McCain the most is the fact that he apparently either doesn't think the economy is all that important an issue and can get away with beating around the bush when asked his stance on it, or, legitimately doesn't know how to handle the issue and is hoping to somehow squeak into the white house without being pressured on it.
Also, in my opinion, he thinks too much like Bush; that continued aggression in the middle east is a pre-emptive measure to domestic safety. The only real results this war is getting is lowering positive perspective on the US. Globally, most nations disagree with the way the US is handling this situation.
I think this 'war' is simply a means to cover up some ulterior motive, whether that is financial gain for Bush/Chaney and their croneys or simply because they feel it's their right to push other nations around and like to feel powerful, I don't know.
I just feel (regardless of how much experience Obama has) that the change he promotes would be welcome. Obviously what the republicans have been doing the last 7 1/2 years isn't working (just look at it's health care system - or lack there of, economy and extremely bloated deficit). Is it all worth the money wasted on a futile war?
I'd expect the argument that the health care system was crap before Bush became 'president', and granted, you'd be right. But at least the Clintons attempted to make it better despite it being shot down.
What is so wrong with change? Or, at the very least, seeing what Obama can do? Oh wait, corporate interest is at stake! I forgot.
I hope Bill caves Hillary's head in with a ball peen hammer, I hope Obama dies of colon cancer, and I hope that McCain succumbs to Alzheimer's and becomes a blithering pudding head. Maybe then Ron Paul will stand a chance
No worries. McCain will win, and he has more arse than Obama. (experience wise, McCain cannot be beaten) Obama is a teen with a lollipop in his mouth and McCain is a Vet and knows how to get things done!!!!!
Lets look at this. A random navy seamen that never leaves the deck of some random boat that doesnt go into battle ever is more qualified then a random Ivy Leauge graduate?
Of course, it all makes sense, that ability to shoot someone in a random war means your better then everyone else.

And what kind of experience does he have? Hopefully you're not talking about foreign policy experience. As patriotic as it may seem to the majority of blue collar Americans, being stuck in a fucking cage as a P.O.W is not foreign policy experience.
The fact that he was a P.O.W. is more of a sympathy pull then an actual political point and leadership refrence.
Quote from "LifePincher" »
Obama has TONS of experience, right??
McCain is going to win, there is no doubt. Blue collared Americans do not want an inexperienced teenager that had a PASTOR for 20 years telling him racial BS, running for President!!!!!!
Lol. His pastor made a good deal of good points. He just presented them wrong, and then people like Fox got them and twisted them to fit there bullshit upsidedown needs. But that's what politics in America is about. Twisting each other's words to fit your own bullshit agenda.
Quote from "LifePincher" »
I think Obama is an outright LIAR telling all of us that he never heard this kind of stuff from his pastor before in 20 years. Are all of you Blind/Deaf? Jesse Jackson is rubbing his hands together on this one.
Of course he heard it. That is retarded to think he didn't That's not the point though. The point is he had to appologize for what someone else said years ago that was the other person's oppinion.
So should we hate you because Fbim says the grass is purple? Or hate you because Equinox says that tree bark is hot pink? Of course, according to your logic!

Define Experience please. If you want to moan about Experience then you need to be able to accurately define it.
(Might I also point out that George Washington had no experience. )

I'm 30 and studied all the old history books and now know everything.

I'm 70 and have seen what has happened in the past and know how to adjust to upcoming situations in the future.
Obama= FAILURE!
Ok. Lets be honest here. Fourty or fifty years of semi-intellegent life gives McCain more knowledge then a Harvard garduate that studied the far history, that which McCain did not live in?

So you're saying that a college graduate of today is more knowledgeable than one 20+ years his senior?
I know people that never finished High School that became millionaires and are practically rocket scientists that know far more than anyone could imagine. I also know collegiates that spend 4+years in college that end up working at McDonalds.
Let's knock on Experience here........ Obama has NONE! ...... PERIOD!
About the Pastor... You're kidding right? If I joined a white Christian church and I'm for black people, and my pastor makes bad remarks about blacks and the USA....... and I stay with this church for 20+ years? Think not! I'd be out of there on the first REMARK!
You guys are Clueless on Obama. He's not a Colon Powell dammit!, I assure you of this. If "he" ran, I would vote for him without question.

Obviously he has some experience, albeit not executive experience. But extensive experience in executive government may not necessarily make on a better president. It's even arguable that too much experience is what makes your average politician into a career politician and into just another cog.
I'm cynical about the level of change that Obama could actually bring to government, but I also think drastic changes are becoming overdue and he may be the best of the candidates to bring about the change. For the most part, if he were president, there would be no drastic changes. Government would largely continue to function as it has for a long time. But he may be capable of taking some crucial first steps into the next paradigm shift that the United States is bound for. So whether we be forced into it, or let down more easily, it's gonna take a president willing to do a lot of unpopular things so we are not paying for these mistakes a lot longer down the road. I'm not so sure Obama will have the political capital to take the unpopular measures into bringing about the drastic change that he so often speaks of.
But nor do I think Clinton or McCain are really capable of those measures either. I reckon that short of getting either Ron Paul, Ralph Nader, or even Jesse Ventura as president, business will continue as usual in the United States.

Colin Powell was politically neutered during his time as Secretary of State during this administration. He was embarrassed by the actions of the Department of Defense, the hearings at the U.N. on the appeals to gain support for the Iraq War, and ultimately stabbed in the back when he was forced to resign. And he had a lot of opportunities to truly stand up to the administration and be a hero, but ultimately failed at this. Still one of the most admirable public servants in the Bush administration though.

This is too vague I don't know how to respond to it. In what way do we need strength right now? Strength to apply to what? Do you just mean strong leadership? Cause the country always needs strong leadership.
