To say the truth, how can a similar-to-human being be deprived of emotional chemistry is beyond me.
OK, I better stop digging. I can't go around digging from one episode, I need at least a season to work with... sorry, my strange habit.
The Vulcans do have emotion. In fact, they used to be driven by nothing but emotions. During that time, they almost killed each other in a long lasting civil war. After coming so close to annihilating everyone, they emerged from the ashes of their civilization to build a new one built mainly on logic. Part of attaining pure logic meant foregoing their emotions. However, they have also become hypocritical in many ways because of this. And many of them merely live in denial toward having extreme emotions. But it's more of a spiritual pursuit in a way, for them to purge all their emotions.
Then you've got the Romulans, who are distant cousins of the Vulcans. And they are now like how the Vulcans used to be. Violent and aggressive and passionate.
Reminds me of the Banik history. I'm not sure this kind of thing would work, though, after all the wars have ended. I guess they have a special emotional structure, because humans succumb to emotions quite easily, I don't think humans would be able to make a society based on logic, they are too illogical.
i voted other because i think the first few episodes of "battle star galactica" were very well done. i was on the edge of my seat the whole time.

Angus the peasant saw the necromancer raising the rotting remains and ran away. Since then he told the tale of how he narrowly escaped the necromancer he called "juicy bones".
new one, it could have been that the story was so good, but zooming in and out of the camera gave it a real effect that put you into the battle you know?

AVP is the best!
No I'm kidding, that movie was pretty horrible if I may say so. I liked the movie Predator though, but that's not sci-fi.
Alien Resurrection was my favorite. But I really like the directing of Jean Pierre Jeunet. He's the guy that did Amelie and City of Lost Children.
And I don't know, I think Predator is kind of Sci-Fi. An alien who comes to Earth for the sole purpose of hunting and collecting trophies. Interesting concept about a space-faring hunter race that goes to different planets killing things.
I don't know if anyone knows about this, but there's a great series of Alien VS Predator novels which came out before the AVP movie. They're actually quite good and I really enjoyed reading 'em. Check them out: HERE
Oh, and as for the Alien series...
Alien > Very good, but got a little boring (2nd Best)
Aliens > Just friggin awesome (Best)
Alien 3 > Boring and ruined the upbeat ending of Aliens (Worst)
Alien Res. > Okay. Kinda repetitive plot of "Ripley finds a room with stuff in it". Some good things. (3rd place)
The whole genre of sci-fi seems to have suffered lately. There just hasn't been a really good solid sci-fi movie for sometime. I remember when I Robot was first coming out and was getting excited for it. But I ended up being pretty disappointed in it.
Lately, I'll just get my sciencey kicks from watching Nova. Cause when they're talking string theory and stuff, that's all still sci-fi to me so I enjoy it on that level.
Hmm, the kind of elves that act like Divine Assassins with extra memory? "There is no moon on our planet".

Alien Resurrection is a sequel to Alien...
Ugh, okay.
There's Alien, then Aliens, Alien 3, and then Alien Resurrection. Plus it's charming little spinoff Alien vs. Predator.
