Seeing as this game is being developed by the original makers of D1 and D2, and arguably a spiritual successor of them, should we have a Hellgate forum here once the game is released?
I will most certainly be playing the game, and I figure that many others here wil to. It would be a nice thing to have a place to gahter our experiences and ideas without flooding the General discussion even more.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

yes in time. once the site grows many new forums may appear, the general section could be split into different areas, non blizzard games, books, tv and movies, comics etc.
but we will have to wait and see, for now the site is set up pretty well for the numbers of members, if we get a lot more regulars, then who knows.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
i dont think it should b here... if it's not blizzard then i don't want it on a diablo 3 site... wc shouldn't even be here... any other game should be in the off topic section :-P

i dont think its a Blizzard site to have only Blizzard games in it but whatever. I'd take any good games (especially the ones closely related to Diablo as in gameplay) in here with their own sector in the forums but i'm not an admin.
Who knows, really. It's not like the Starcraft and Warcraft sections of the forums get much traffic these days anyway. So I don't see how another section would be a distraction. Personally, I'm very unfamiliar with this game, but it looks more akin to a FPS which hardly resembles the gameplay of any Blizzard game.
it is not only FPS, you can change the view to 3rd person, like in Elder Scrolls

The gameplay stays the same. In any way, Diablo is neither 3rd or 1st - it's top down, and that is a huge difference. But I think it would fit in anyway because it is made by authors of Diablo, and it has level generation and powerful RPG elements, but Siaynoq has a point...
This discussion has actually made me wonder what a second person shooter would be? Can you call Diablo second person? Or is second person for side-scrollers only? What would be an example of such a view? Or do they not really exist in games. Just something I've never thought about before.

How would a 2nd person differ from a 3rd person. In both cases it's about an external observer watching you. I guess the only time someone is called "you" is when you speak directly to them, so a 2nd person would be watching the players face. Hardly an effective view in gaming.
But my point with a Hellgate forum is that if any new game out there comes close to being an actual successor to Diablo, it would be Hellgate (besides an actual D3).

I'm just think of it through a strange English interpretation. With first person saying I, me. Second saying you, your. Third person, his, her. their. Eh, just ignore me on this one.
2nd person view is easily done, they had a joke of that in Giants: Citizen Kabuto, you click F or something, you get 2nd person view. But that way isn't really playable. How can you play a character that is staring at you, moving toward you, shooting at you?

But it is blizzard. Ex-Blizz North people (the President and head developers) all created it. It's features remind me of diablo 2 so much. That is what scares me about diablo 3. If the people that made diablo 2 so great arn't doing diablo 3, maybe hellgate is the game we should really be wanting.

Hmm i think there will be a big gap between them (in time i mean).
But i suspect when Hellgate gets ready to be launched Blizzard will slowly "leak" out some D3 info
Ready to be lauched? That should be now, it is scheduled for late summer, but there isn't even a closed beta going on yet.

So I'm rather indifferent on the topic.
