Carloseus You have been Officially summoned From LORD GOD SILVER
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
You Have accomplished much in you're time here and have proven you're weight numerous times. The next step in advancement into the ranks of Executioner squad member is a huge step.
I have faith u will be there soon and if you want to achieve this fate might i ask you to take up a quest?
no, This is not the normal Carloseus go kill 1000 quill rats that have been preparing an ambush.
This quest Consist of Traveling Far east, Through the mountain pass and over the next peak. You are to select a legionnaire from you're sub guild of lowest rank. You two are to seek an old friend of mine by the name of Trance in the small city of Creakbridge.
Though i have not seen Trance in years he has sent word to me of a surrounding enemy. An enemy who has decided to take up arms along a trade route between CreakBridge and its neighboring town to its east. From my understanding this enemy never sleeps and recovers its loss of energy from eating its human victims.
This beast lives in a cave nearby (where, I'm not sure of) but in its cave it has many fortunes that even it is not aware of. As it killed traders and escaping thieves it has started to mass up quite a collection. One such item Is a Ring. The ring is Black in color with a silver line running in the middle the length of its band. How big its cave is, is unknown as it has been rumored it goes much below the surface of Man. This ring, As i can not tell u what it does quite yet is quite a powerful thing. You must not put this ring on and must bring it directly to me.
Now here how u must obtain it. Carloseus this is where i am asking you to lay all of you're trust in another man and put it all on the line. U must lay helpless while the beast captures you along the road(he will most surely knock u unconscious) once u are knocked out he will scout the area for others before making his decent to his lair. The legionnaire of you're choosing must not be seen as he makes his scouts or i fear both you're lives may be taken. once the beast treks back to the cave the legionnaire must follow it as all the time u lay unconscious. The beast will most likely lay/strap u to a make shift table as it plans to rip into u with teeth so sharp as u lay knocked out. It will cast a spell of paralyze on u to guarantee u will not be moving as it try's to digest u. The legionnaire who u have chosen must sneak into the cave in a timely fashion. He must strike the beast in a downward motion from the neck into the torso(much like a warriors Death) as i feel this is the only type of blow that will take the beast down. Once the beast is wounded the legionnaire must continue to strike it until death as a couple blows with a long sword will not do much to the beast at full strength it will take much effort to kill the foul beast. Once the beast is surely dead The legionnaire must cup some of the beast blood in hand and feed it to carlosues as this is the only remedy to awaken carloseus from the spell of paralyze that had overtook him. together the 2 of u will search the cave for this ring i described above and it must be brought back to trance so that he might inspect it. Once he give u the ok bring the ring back to me with haste. Do not put the ring on.
Please respond with you're acceptance of this Quest along with who shall accompany You
Good luck.....
Now i must go kill some necromancers that are attempting to turn into Liches and well i just cant allow that so...see you when you get back....
Come in Carloseus.”
I walked in through the great doors that unveiled a grand hall. Facing me at the end of the hall was our God Silver. White fire burned where ones eyes would be, however I knew they were watching me. I walked forth until I was ten feet from the throne in which he sat and bowed.
“At ease, Carloseus.”
I stood up and remained attentive. “My Lord summoned me?” I asked.
“Yes. You Have accomplished much in you're time here and have proven you're weight numerous times. The next step in advancement into the ranks of Executioner squad member is a huge step. He ignored my question and kept going.

“I remained quiet. He had repeated everything he had said in the forums and in the letter he had sent to me, but it seemed brand new.
“Please respond with you're acceptance of this Quest along with who shall accompany You.” He concluded.
“Lord Silver I gladly accept this quest, and know who will accompany me. He is my newest and yet to be announce Slayer, Saber the True.” I responded. “We will take only a day for preparation, maybe less. Our journey will begin during the night, under the stars and so that we do not awaken the inhabitants of the Citadel.”
“Very well Carloseus. You have your leave.”
I stiffened and saluted him. “Hail Silver!”
“Hail Silver.” he chuckled.
I turned around and walked out of his hall, quickly so that I could begin my preparations immediately.
“Are you sure Saber? We face possible death, and I will be of no help once the creature binds me with its spell.”
“My commander, how can I turn down my first assignment because of danger? Am I worthy of SLAYERS if I run from this? Thasador would gladly fight 10,000 demons at once just to have this opportunity. I shall not disappoint him, and not fail you.”
“Very true, and I hope that you don’t fail me. SLAYERS is confused enough without having to acquire a new leader.”
He was of large stature, broad shouldered and developed in his muscular qualities. His black hair was to the height of his chin, however it gave him a ragged look. His red eyes burned with a fire, a motivation I had seen in few. We finished packing making sure to not take too much equipment and utilities. I carried a hunting knife, a large curbed blade, my largest sword, and the famed twin swords I used all the time. Saber took with him a bastard sword and a war knife.
Only a day before Lord Silver had given me this chance to prove myself and now we were departing. I tied my package onto my horse, hearing familiar boots approaching.
“I had hoped that you two wouldn’t have come.” I said not turning back.
“And why is that?” Thasador asked.
“because it only makes it more difficult for me to say good-bye.” I responded. Thasador extended his hand, and we grasped arms. “Do not think of it as such my good friend.” he said.
“Ay, think of us wishing you well on a vacation.” Fudlow said. We shook arms and I placed a hand on each of their shoulders. “best of friends, I depart. Continue my teachings and all that I have fought for, should I not return.”
“I shall care for SLAYERS in your absence.” Thasador said.
“Then until my return.” I jumped onto my horse and raised a fist into the air.
“FOR SILVER!” I yelled.
“FOR SILVER!” they returned.
I turned to Saber. “let us depart. He had mounted already, and our horses bolted out of the city walls. In all that night and the day after he spoke only five words: “I will not fail you.”
For three days we traveled, only allowing rest for the horses. We had been ambused several times by marauders and several assassins. My guess was that they had heard of our Lord’s assignment and saw this as an opportunity to finally undo of Carloseus who had unfolded so many assassination attempts on various important people of SICK. Instead they were killed by the silent Saber, who would catch them spying.
On the fourth day I saw mountains far ahead, and my spirits grew. We reached them by noon and we dismissed the horses. They would go through torture and a dead end where they would likely die.
We kept on, not resting but ascending the semi-steep slope, and gradually we began to see less vegetation and experience more cold. Chilling winds penetrated through our armors and bit into our flesh. On we continued however, and I noticed my younger companion fighting the elements. He was not as experienced as I, I am long overdue for death of age. Yet because of a spell from my Lord I can only die by poison or by deadly blade.
We eventually reached a wall, and I noted that this was Silver’s landmark peak.
“ Saber, can you afford some rope? I’m going to climb this wall and carry you with me, it’s the only way we can get to the top.”
He opened his pack, and produced a fairly large coil of rope.
“Its 40 feet, hope its enough.”
“It is perfect.” I made a restraint on me, then on him, and drew out my swords. I began my ascent, stabbing the ice wall with the blades horizontally. I worked quickly, making use of the adrenaline as I still had it. After two hours of climbing I saw the ledge, and was motivated to keep onward. My strength was now being tested, and with every foot we went higher I felt as if a bear gnawed on my arms. The last twenty were the hardest, forcing me to summon all courage, determination, and strength in my arms to reach our goal. Grunts and yells escaped my lips, but I finally made it to the top and pulled my human cargo onto the summit.
“We must hurry, the winds will hasten.” I said.
“Let me carry you, you are weakened.” Saber responded.
“I can walk, its only my arms and chest that are tired. Lets move.” I told him.
We made down the side of the mountain, realizing that we had been going down a trail with walls along the side covered by ice and snow. It was not long before we made it to the bottom and rested. From the distance we spotted a city, and assumed it was none other than Creakbridge. We hastened, knowing that at least that tonight we would sleep and eat comfortably. We made it there late in the day, and immediately found a place to rent rooms for the night. The remainder of the day we searched the city for Lord Silver’s friend, Trance. Near nightfall we found his home, and we knocked on his door. After a few minutes it swung open to an old man with a sword at this side. His hair was silver, and he was sporting a fairly long beard.
“Can I help you two? And why do you come armed?” he demanded.
“We are servants of the God Silver, and we come seeking you.”
His expression changed to shock.
“He sent you two?”
“Yes.”
“Pardon my manners. Come in, come in!!” he hurried us in and shut the heavy door.
“So I must allow it to me to take me?’ I asked.
“Yes. It has a strange sensitivity to power, but can only sense those of highest power. If he were to take Saber here, and then sense you, he would shred Saber to shreds and then go after you. However if you lie down and Saber attacks, he will be caught blind and your success more assumable. But why you two? You are so young.”
“You’ve heard of SLAYERS yes?”
“Ah yes, strong fighters they are. I heard they strive to be the pride of SICK.”
“I am the commander of SLAYERS, and this is my newest recruit. He excels at slaying single monsters, and will become a slayer of many one day. But because he already has this asset I’ve taken confidence in him.”
He raised his eyebrow.
“I did not know who the commander of SLAYERS was, until now of course. Now I believe you have more of a chance.”
“So is that the only way to bring the beast down?” Saber asked.
“There are several ways, besides the one from your Lord Silver. But his was the most effective. However it would be easier to strike at the back of its neck, as it will blind his senses. Then it will be a matter of dodging its wild blows since it would not be able to see. In addition, it pains the creature every time it uses force against an opponent. However you must strike a very mighty blow indeed if the it is to suffer so much.”
“I thank you for your help Lord Trance, but we really must go. We will leave you to your rest and rest ourselves for the fight. Also thanks for your hospitality and staying up this late, I’m sure you have much better things to do than talk to several strangers.”
“Not at all. Friends of Silver are friends of mine. Rest, and may his light follow you.”
We took our leave and went to our rooms, one for each.
“Get some rest Saber, you will decide how tomorrow ends.”
“I will not fail you Carloseus.”
“I know.”
With that I left to my own room and collapsed on the mattress. Sleep took me instantly, my exhaustion was anxious to undo the pain I had caused myself.
The following day I exited my room to see Saber sharpening his sword, waiting for me.
“Ready?” I asked.
“As I ever will be.”
We headed south east, following the route the beast stalked. Saber disappeared behind the broken wagons and other large debris on the side of the road. We were in a canyon, and the monster could attack any minute now. I walked into a soft sand, and stepped back. Suddenly from the same place I had stepped emerged a huge beast; size of an elephant, body of a bear, and its skin rough with the occasional horn protruding throughout its body. It swung its huge limbs at me in the same manner of a bear, but too slow. I dodged him with ease time and time again, allowing Saber to study his future enemy. After a while I allowed it to strike me, but suddenly regretted it. I was hit to the ground, and as I stood up it smacked me into the air before being caught by the canyon wall. Again and again it had to pummel me before I was forced into submission. Half awake I lay on the ground, wanting to get up, but it instead grabbed me and carried me up the canyon and over. It moved quickly, and I guessed it was hungry for its new prey. I saw ahead a cave, cleverly disguised as a crack in another canyon nearby. Inside there was light, as a beam of sunshine struck a large crystal, illuminating mountains of gold and silver. It through me onto the ground, and grunted a couple of times. Slowly I realized that I could no longer move, but it continued to grunt. I then began to grow tired and numb, and my eyes were closing in on me. Sheer effort and will kept them from closing, but over me my captor was closing in to bite me.
Through the corner of my eye I saw a sword glisten, and then a roar filled the cave. My would be predator reared back its head, obviously in great pain. Another sight of the sword before it blurred and Saber stood before the beast, his sword sunk into its throat. He turned it 90 degrees and slashed it upwards, proceeding by delivering a volley of stabs and slashes all over its body. After a while of being overwhelmed, the creature collapsed, dead.
Saber cupped his hands in the creatures gashes and released into my mouth its blood. Deep fire filled my throat as it passed through it, and all my injuries and its effects on me disappeared. We studied our felled enemy, noting its attributes and studying its shape. After an hour of rest we set out to find the ring. With magic I lit an orb of light over my right hand, and with the other I moved things around, trying to find a dark shape in all the glistening of gold. Saber found the ring though.
“I think I’ve found it!” he yelled from deep within the cave. I followed his voice and sure enough there was a ring on a small stone pillar. Around it were skeletons of warriors, their swords rusted and armors reduced to piles of rust. I quickly took it, and placed it round my neck with the help of a chain. We hurried to Creakbridge where we presented the head of our foe and gave all the spoils of our victory to Trance, who would then distribute it among the citizens.
Our journey home was much faster, with the help of my teleportation technique. In two days we were within sight of the Citadel, when Saber asked me a question.
“Why didn’t you use this technique on our way there? We would have made it much faster and less dangerous.”
“Because dear Saber, it would have taken that adventurous feel to our departure. We would have made more simple something that was worth real effort. Besides, we got to learn more about each other, and now I know I can push you to the same extremes. There is never an opportunity a good commander does not take to learn more about his men.”
From the distance I saw something approaching, and a second later I was locked with someone, my sword to his shuriko. I gained leverage and sent it flying nearby, where it sunk into the ground. My attacker pulled out two katanas, and I was too busy dodging and blocking to call out my name. I stroke the flats of the blades and disabled my enemy once again.
“You have returned.” he said winded.
“Ay, but you know better than to challenge me Thasador. Even after that whole ordeal I still have the skill and power to disable you.”
“Ah, but you are not the only one exerting yourself. Ferret, Fudlow, and I have been training all this time, taking time only to sleep and to perform bodily needs.”
I laughed. We retrieved his weapons and all three of us walked towards our capital, as Saber told the story and I assisted. By sunset I was at the doors of Lord Silver, and I walked in, followed by Saber, Ferret, Fudlow, and Thasador. They had found us at the entrance and had followed to hear the story. At ten feet from his thrown I kneeled my left knee, placed my left hand on my chest and tore off the ring with my right hand before presenting it to our Lord. The others simply bowed.
“My Lord, your errand.” I said simply.
It is good to see you return safely Baron. celebrations are in order. you there naive *points to nearby naive* send word to the kitchens to prepare the Great Hall for a glorious feast of 1000 beasts. our champions return.
