-now as many people speculate there is the matter of tyrael, is he corrupted, possibly, but it is a little overused concept in games, but somewhat logical, if one is exposed to a contaminated substance of often becomes infected, in the case of tyrael it would be exposed to the corrupted worldstone. of course if tyrael has become corrupted from exposure to the corrupted worldstone then the character/s from LOD should also be corrupted, they spend more time in the vicinity of the worldstone than tyrael did, and im not including multiple difficulties or baal runs. Unless tyrael has been corrupted by having part of the worldstone enter his body, but again this is a fairly overused concept, this is effectively what happened to the warrior in diablo 1, tal rasha and the priest guy (whos name i can never remember but should) who was possessed by mephisto
Great idea - The seven character's become the leaders of hell, as they are corrupted. There are then new character classes who rise into heaven. The original 7 character classes will be Dark and the new ones will be Light (Heaven vs. Hell). I think this would be really really good.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
The D2 LoD ending left the series wide open for a sequel. One need only pay attention to what Tyrael says at the end of the game to figure it out.

All I know is when the Worldstone was destroyed evil is allowed in, when you destroy the prime evils souls, they just end up back in hell. So MOST LIKELY you just fight him over and over again. The souldstones just contained their spirits so they couldn't cause havoc and whatever. When you break it they just go back to hell. I'm not totally sure on this, but quite positive, Because you can't kill the Devil (if that's who Diablo is supposed to be).

Maybe certain would have been a better word than positive since you stated you're not totally sure. I would agree with you that ultimately, you probably can't kill Diablo. Not because he's the devil either. I don't equate Diablo to the devil. Diablo just happens to be an extremely powerful demon that bases all his methods on terror and embodies the principle of it. His essence can never cease to exist, but he can be permanantly banned from places such as Sanctuary.
And someone may wish to debate this with me, but I was under the impression that there was such a thing as a Great Abyss. And that this abyss is basically akin to nothingness. And lastly, that once those Soulstones were destroyed, there spirits or essences if you will, are banished to that place of no return. But even if this was supposedly true, there's no telling what the nature of the Great Abyss, Sanctuary, Heaven, or even Hell is. Knowing that, yes, there is the possibility that any Prime Evil could return from the Great Abyss if that is in fact where they went.
But the problem of allowing the Prime Evils to return over and over to Sanctuary where you must fight them is the problem of infinity ad nauseum. Don't you ever wish for things to truly end? Don't you like knowing that all those efforts of killing the Prime Evils and destroying their Soulstones had a permanent effect? Such as the one of them never being able to return to a mortal realm again? I personally believe they simply cannot. Which is why I also believe the next Diablo game will be one of two types of games: either a prequel, possibly during the time of the Sin War or even during an early time when the different mage clans were at war with each other. That, or the game will be a sequel, but that you will not battle the Prime Evils in Sanctuary; they will either be fought in Hell or maybe even Heaven.
What neither the Burning Hells or the High Heavens truly understand, is that they are not on top of everything else. There are beings beyond them and the universe in which all known things exist. What I'm getting at is that if there ever is an ending to the Great Conflict, that won't necessarily mean the ending of mortals. These beings that exist beyond the known universe are aware of mortals and the immortals within the forces of Heaven and Hell. And if mortals are truly something unique in the world of Sanctuary, and these higher beings see more potential in them than Heaven and Hell does, there is no telling what sort of intervention might take place from these higher beings.
I'm still learning about them myself. The only one I'm explicitly aware of is Trag'Oul. But it is difficult to theorize about the nature of these beings and the extent of their power and influence when even Trag'Oul itself does not know fully what it is. Still, I believe or at least hope, that Trag'Oul or other beings like it will have some greater role in the next Diablo game. Prequel or Sequel.
Trag'Oul and TRang'Oul are one and the same, right? I remember reading Legacy of Blood and seeing that spelling instead of the R in the Necromancer set. Anyway, those are some good points, but since this "Dark Abyss" has never been mentioned, it'll either have to be introduced into the game at some point or they go back to hell like I thought. Good thinking though, Diablo has a very interesting storyline

Yes, they are one in the same. I don't think there's any special reason why they were spelled differently. I might have been simply that one day that particular Blizzard empoyee didn't get the memo.

My theories on the Great Abyss could easily prove to be completely unfounded. I'm not even sure where I get the word "Great" from. But I think what started that theory for me was when the Necromancer slays Mephisto and says, "Farewell Mephisto. Give my regards to the Abyss." Obviously I couldn't see if abyss was capitalized or not. But since the Necromancer said it, I assumed he was speaking of a realm that only the Priests of Rathma were truly aware of.
I doubt that blizzard would base their new game on something the Necro says in Act 3 ..
Who said they would? I certainly didn't. I was merely saying I may have gotten the whole idea of the Great Abyss from what he says in Act 3. But I have always felt that after their Soulstones were smashed at Hellforge that the Prime Evils could never return to the mortal realm. There's plenty of evidence to suggest that.
I misread your post then, but how would any mortal get to the great abyss then, if that was, what blizzard is planning (not saying that you suggest that blizzard would;))
Well, if that is indeed where they ended up, then there's no need to go there and fight them.
There was a patch that would change the demon crypt in Hellfire into the abyss. A harder level than hell with a new form of diablo at the end called the dark lord. All his minions can cast apocalypse and he has over 13,000 hp in hell difficulty. Also since Izuals demon form was that of a demon from the abyss, the fact that it was easy to beat shows that the abyss can't be that bad. Getting there is another story....

There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
Evil can never be defeated because it dwells within.
Everyone has an evil side with the exception of Jesus, Gandei, mother Teressa and a cute puppey lol!
But seriously, I think Blizzard will capadilise on that idea.

You can't really say Gandei and mother Teressa didn't have an evil side since they just showed their good side more often. They were human after all.
Jesus' evil side would be the anti christ and all cute puppies are pure evil! Mine is especially.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
