There is like... one exception to this.
Old ass show called Trigun, dunno what ever happened to it.
But yeah, I'm insanely tired of seeing all this anime on tv, and even in internet games now. Seems damn near every MMORPG is made in anime style. It sickens me, really :(.
So yeah, you're not the only person who doesn't like anime on here :D.
Hopefully we're not alone..

I hate anime as well. I personally hate that there's little realism in anime, and all the characters look like they're brothers and sisters. I thought it was cool when it first became popular, but now it's just gone overboard.

"Hey guys...don't you ever just...fall over...cuz ya know...the world is moving...and you're standing still?"
I like hellsing and trigun... the rest can go to hell for what I care. I really liked Spiderman and X-men animes. Currently learning how to draw western animes. I also like the Western + Manga mix that can give you really cool looking art!
Would I be wrong in assuming that you Teo base your dislike of anime on the overwhelmingly large number of anime with characters with huge eyes, cute creatures, pink, green, blue, hair in rediculous hair styles, such as in the like of Yu Gi Oh, Pokemon, Digimon, Duel Masters, Zoids, Gundam, etc and other such animes that are referred to as the 4PM anime. That is to say it is often screened at 4pm, when the younger people get home from school.
These anime are the one people are first exposed to, and this causes many people to think that this is what all anime is. The anime for a much older audience is screened much later, usually during Adult Swim on Cartoon Network, but even then it is still sometimes the anime that is targeted for a younger audience.
Anime is often repeatitive, its the same tired characters (or similar looking characters) over and over again. Then I found Berserk.
Sure it's dated now, it did come out in 1997, but it had no little kids with green spike hair, no cute little monsters, no huge eyes. It did have a character with an over sized sword (yet another staple of anime), but this time the character looked like one who could actually swing such a sword. It was also, rather gorey and violent and there was the odd bit of nudity. Sadly it was cancelled before the season final, at the time it was demmed too violent/risque for TV.
I like anime, but I can't stand all those Yu Gi Oh, DBZ, Pokemon shows, instead I retire myself to watching, Basilisk (a sort of romeo and juliet tale, but with ninja clans), Berserk (Medieval Fantasy), Ghost in the Shell (Computer hackers and internet espionage), Ninja Scoll (Feudal Japan Fantasy), and Hellsing
Not everyone has to like anime, I don't think your alone here in not liking anime, Teo.

about all the characters being drawn in the same style
its actually for me one of the interesting parts of anime how every artist has a different style. sure they often have spiky hair and are tall and lanky but even if two artists tried to draw from a full description of what a character should look like they would not look nearly the same
For me it depends on the anime. I dont mind the ones for older people like some of the ones on adult swim or somethin but the other stuff for kids is like.........ZZZZZZzzzZZZ

Overall, anime is garbage. But with all things garbage, there are always exceptions. There really are some exceptional Japanese animation. And we should all call it Japanese animation. Anime is a stupid word.
Never met an anime that I've liked. And I mean that very literally.
For example, I know that Akira is highly regarded, but I've never seen it, and I have no desire to [see it].
That being said, I DO like some of the music that I've stumbled across which has been used in anime. I've got a couple of pieces from Elfen Lied (the anime, not the forum member) on my iPod. The song, Katsubou, used in the following YouTube video, being one:
