Just finished a piece of fan art for D3 of a Barb that I personally would like to look like. I have been self teaching myself photoshop for some time now, and after trying to learn all sorts of techniques, I have finally figured out a technique I can use that fits my actual pencil techniques the best. Lately I have been trying to learn the most I can by seeing "Mr. Jack" as an inspiration, from seeing his first "digital artwork" I have hope that I can do something with this hopefully.
Let me know what you think, keep in mind this is like my 5th or so attempt at a piece that actually looks decent. This being my favorite so far as I keep getting better as I go with experience with all things.
Took me around 80-100 hours/ish. I lose track of time when I spend endless nights till the sun comes up haha.I plan on doing one for each class, and I might go back into it and add effects to it like say a fire enchanted axe, or some smoke/glows from the skulls and what not, you know the things we love
The main reason it's mainly a darker scheme was I was trying to follow the diablo theme of being darker, the skin is almost as if he was black or darker skinned, I didn't want to go with a light skin as it would cause to much of a mesh between the light bone. What you see on the thighs is highlights basically outlining muscle. Throw all your feedback at it, as I can progress further in the digital art medium.
Also I'm still very newb on converting my finish product into anything else with the same quality, I can't seem to find a good read on tutorials on how to do that, so honestly you have to zoom in more to see that there's actually a leather covering part of his leg, basically his arms, half his chest and abs/thighs are the only skin you see. and part of his shoulder behind the tusks that come across.
The striation on the chunks of muscle, itself, is characteristic of muscle and not skin, in my opinion, and I feel that in most cases the muscle is simply too overdone. That was what I meant by a lack of skin. It seems as if it was stripped off in places.
I see what you mean, needs to be more gradual and not so harsh, the right leg more so as if it's a science picture of muscle underneath the skin just brown and black not red.

Exactly! Other than that I have no problems with this and I think it looks awesome
Simply amazing, i LOVE the amount of detail you put into this AND the massive amount of time you dedicated to this incredible picture. Congratulations!
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.

Do you have change for a nickel? I need three pennies.

I hope cool armors like this get into the game.
Embrace this moment. Remember...
We are eternal, all this pain is an illusion.
