I work far too slow. Never done landscape before so it's going to be a fun experience.;)
Comments and critiques welcome.
And yes, I know the right leg is incomplete lol

Work in progress. The scene is going to be in the night, I'm going to hopefully have it to where the green looks normal with with landscape. But I may change it to where he looks a lot darker and more along the lines of a grey dark blueish tent. I can change it pretty easy so we'll see how it pans out.
But hopefully an eerie green tent to the whole thing will make it work. We shall see. I am learning as I go lol.

The position of his body and ligaments could use some work but I'd say that's pretty good none-the-less. Is this your first substantial fan art project that you've posted here? I guess I could just search for it, but posting directly always seems more personal to me.

What do you mean by substantial? I've posted stuff here and there.
But ya, body poses is my main problem right now. It's been a long time since I focused on character illustration because of the art classes I was in for 4 years. So, I'm starting fresh, it will refine as I gain more experience hopefully.

Not really sure. I'm a victim writer of purple prose- that is, excessively verbose writing for the sake of making the total thought more engaging through use of unneeded but "pretty" adjectives, nouns, verbs, et cetera. Oh well.
That's something that everyone always said gets better with time, patience, and practice, the first two being recursive emanations of the latter. The part I like is the contrast of the muscle, though it may be very excessive for a third-world magician- is it going to stay that way, though, or is that just for structuring your work for when you do more on the body? For instance, I know in some 3D modeling, artists apply a muscle layer to get a better grasp of how the body should be defined and move.
Hmm, either the arm looks too long or the legs look too short. I can't really tell which is the case. I think the green might turn out well depending on the color of the landscape.
Looks interesting though, I'm curious to see how it turns out.

I think I may leave it. He's a beef cake
It can be easily altered though, just a removal of a few lights and darks will tone it down (no pun intended).
I didn't intend for him to be this bulky...Not sure that it will even be that noticeable once I place the mask on his back. Undecided!!!!
Notice the claw is not his arm. The length goes past where his arm ends. His hand is in there but it's hard to tell at this point in the piece.
Oh, and more explanation of the green...Look where the moon is, the green is suppose to be what he looks like shadowed. So imagine a guy with a fairly dark complection that almost has a green tent to it when it is mixed with black from a shadow. You'll see what I mean in the end I hope.

a darker skin colour would've been more fitting IMO, as it they are on Diablo 3.
The shading is pretty good though.
Thanks, as I said..I may change it if it fits better.

You're doing a nice job painting, but honestly I think you should have worked out the drawing more before spending too much time on the painting part. Focus on the basics, anatomy, proportions, perspective. His arm is too long, and legs are too short/deformed. His body also appears a bit segmented rather than uniform. Don't be afraid to use reference.
The perspective is also off, the one zombie coming out of the ground to the right appears to be closer to the viewer than the witch doctor, though his proportions seem much smaller, and about the same as the zombie that is further away.
Also, it might help to roughly throw in your colors across the canvas, that way you can tell if the green will work in your scene, and adjust accordingly before going into too much detail.
It's looking good, though.

Good critiques. I didn't even notice the bottom right zombie being so small. Good catch. Thats why I posted it in here so you guys could find what I can't because I've been looking at it so long lol.
You saw the hand right? His arm is not the claw, it stops before that. How are the legs "deformed"?

Yeah, I know the hand as not the claw. On second thought, the arm might be about right, but the rest of the body would be wrong. An average figure would stand 7 heads tall (using the head of the character as a measurement) and a heroic-looking character might stand 8 heads tall. Right now I'd say your character is somewhat short/disproportionate. The lower half of his body, and maybe even his torso, could stand to be bigger.
Deformed was a poor choice of wording, but to me it just seems like his legs go into his grass skirt, but there's no real understanding of how they're connecting under there. This is where your anatomy seems to need the most work, again, I suggest using reference. The top of his right thigh should probably buldge a bit more.

kk, ill fix that thigh and somehow try to fix the legs. But I had no reference
All from my odd head.

Nah, there are plenty TRUST me lol...
This isnt that great because its only the second thing ive done in photoshop but...I've been drawing for a good 16 to 17 years (can't remember if I drew when I was 2 or not lol) and I've also taken courses too. I'm mostly self taught but I have also had good instructors helping me refine my craft. Helping smooth out the edges so to speak.
This WILL be my career, so I'm a little serious about it lol. I just have a lot of work to do.

yesss umpa liking the work bro this scene will be great once finished...your really getting into your fanart here man!
my crit would be on your working process..
1. once confident with your lineart then move on to paint, otherwise dont go back to alter it unless you know exactly what you are doing otherwise it will take you too long and you wont learn as much from it.
2. when painting dont go into detail straight away..this is an important point. get the basics done first. figure out your colours, tone, mood, light source etc etc..
3. when it comes to painting it once you have colours n stuff figured out, start very basic and simple. slap on flats under your lineart. then build up on it, using layers or not if preferred. this is very important because if you get used to painting in blocks of detail from figure to one zombie head to another then you willl end up with a piece that wont fit together well..adn trust me working this way will give you fast and excellent experience.
4. this point probably being the most important, make sure whenever your working on it always enjoy it as you go..otherwise stop and start something new and come back to it..ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU ENJOY IT LOL trust me this will get the best natural skill out of you when you work with fun in mind
anyway bro keep it up man lookin foward to seeing it done
Appreciate it Naj!
You told me stuff my professor told me lol. good advice
I definitely need to work on working faster and working on the entire image more for sure.
I would have it done by now if I didn't have classes and tests all the time. I need to find more time to progress my PS skills
