As a sub note unrelated to alt options: YAY! for spell keys not being F keys anymore, they're just too far out of the way of the rest of the keys and alt.
I know it's kind of a QQ thing but my point stands.
I voted for default, however i feel like the screen may be a little cluttered throughout fights with items constantly being dropped, and may alternately just stick with the original Diablo II format.
I would love it if you were able to further customize the Diablo III Default further by adjusting the times of which the items are shown, e.g for only a couple of seconds to see the items which drop, and then holding down the button if you want another/ a better look at the item names, etc.
I was going to go with default, until I thought about how the game encourages you to be picking everything up, which may be why the blue post's preference was the toggle. See it, pick it up. Keep it toggled on to ensure you don't miss anything. I'll be trying both default and toggle. Also, one of the first things I plan on doing is remapped either the loot key or the minimap key, because in Diablo II I can tell you for certain that ALT and TAB aren't exactly the best two keys to press, especially at the same time, in heated combat =]

I am thinking of using default to start and moving to toggle if default doesn't work. I dislike classic.
