We do :). Unfortunately, it really gibes us no new info on how the system works. As mentioned in the OP, Blizzard has gated that they are having a hard time "pefecting" her system and that is probably why we don't know how it works (because blizzard doesn't know yet).

Good thread Scyber, but I think you might have forgotten something. In the debut barbarian/witchdoctor gameplay, whenever you held the cursor over the monster a health bar of the monster would hover over its head. But in the more recent gameplays, the health bar is actually on top of the screen just like DII.
You are right. They did change the health bars to the top of the screen like D2 instead of the individu health bars. However, I think they may have made it an option for either.

I agree, I would like the floating bars. To me, it would be easier to see who I am damaging and how much. I love that Blizzard play tests to determine what works and what doesn't. I never fear that they will make a huge mistake.

My personal opinion was that I wanted to see my character close up. I don't care about a little bit of clipping (though I know others do). I don't like the silhouette idea as much. I'm sure that blizz will put in female silhouettes.
I would like to add... wasn't the one that look like "WoW" is the "current" style of inventory screen? The Silhouette one, I remember seening that way way back.
No, the close up of the character was the equipment/inventory screen used for the very first gameplay video. Soon after, they changed bot the equipment and inventory screen to the current one which is the silhouette similar to D2.

I agree with the floating bars, this will make it much easier to see how much life is left and who's life it actually is...

~ Some people are still alive only because it is illegal to kill them ~
Nice summary, I wasn't aware of the change to the dialogue cut-scenes. I don't really understand it, does this mean that dialogues don't exist anymore? Will the character still be able to ask the NPCs for gossip and quest information? I'm a bit confused. How are things different from the Diablo 2 system in terms of NPC communication?

Basically they removed the cut scene of the camera zooming in to the conversation between the character and the NPC; they believed that it took away from the action of the game and slowed things down. The current system will still allow you to talk to NPC's and hear the lore if you choose, it will just not zoom in a take you out of the game, per se. I believe the current system allows the sound of the NPC talking get louder the closer you are and start to fade as you walk away from them. Does that make more sense?

Yeah, they said one of the main reasons was for replay value. Even though you could cancel out the box, when you have played the game 100x you just want to run past the NPC's without any interruption.

I think it makes sense now. It is still a dialogue system though right? I mean, the character now talks as well rather than the old games where the NPC had monolgoues and you never heard the character talk. Blizzard hasn't changed that too, have they?

They have expressed their affection for giving your character a voice, so I doubt they've changed that.
