And naw, that would probably be pretty bad for the economy, because said cap would have to be constantly adjusted with the amount of players and accounts, else the highest items would reach a ridiculous price, and thus, instead of having an oversaturated economy, we'd have an undersupplied economy.

Zhar got it right, plus I think that would take away an element to the game. Even though I probably will never find a certain item, If I know for a fact I won't then I won't even try to do mf runs ect. As much as doing Meph runs over and over.... and over again sucks, I'll admit there is always that excitment when the drop comes!
I think a combination of things is necessary for Blizz to get a working D3 economy. They've seen the horror that is the D2 economy and are sure to learn from it, the only question is will they get a working economy right the first time around? If they can manage that and maintain a decent and solid foundation for said economy, then they will see how people will try to circumvent it and take measures to correct it.
And welcome to the forums Gulliver! Have a drink on me.

Avast ye! Scyberdragon be te thank for the sig, arr!
I realy do hope that gold will be the main currency in D3. It would be soo much easier if everything could be bought by gold, and if gold was rather hard to earn. Even if you only find small piles of gold they will eventualy end up in a big pile. Having a currency like runes, wich are hard to find at all and comes in various shapes, is mad.
-English is my secondary lenguage and this was writen on an iPhone. And the goddamned thing tries to replace every word with a similar Swidish one. Please neglect my spelling errors and gramatical failures.
Not many, friend. I'd excuse 'em anyway. It's the internet so not many people go completely nuts sh*t over grammar. If anyone does, though, please feel free to point them out so I can practice my form of anesthetics.

I think it is better they look at having many different options for items and not only a few high end uniques or high level runewords like in the later patches of D2 Lod. I would like to see that Crafted and Rares be able to compete with them. I loved it in the old classic days when for the most part rares where the best.

Yeah. It felt like you allways had something new to find.
Felt the same was, it added a bit of replayability, even made your characters feel unique.
Grinding for the same old uniques was kinda boring, you knew what you were going to get, there was just a bit of statistical variation between the same items.
However, with rares and crafts, you barely ever found two with the exact same set of attributes. Not saying it never happened, but it had way more randomness than the uniques.

Who says there will be no mods. Blizzard just stated they will not support them. It is likely that the mod makers at the Phrozen Keep (d2mods.com) will be able to make mods. I think most of them will play the game for a little bit before they start to make mods.

Actually, I guess I should have mentioned this in the article, but Bashiok has said that there will be no BoP. Of course, this is subject to change. But, at the moment, BoP is nowhere to be seen.

I hope that bots and duping does not work on Bnet2. Both of those made it posible to have uber items in large numbers.
This leans even more toward "World of Diablo" but maybe a CD on how often u can enter/kill instances/dungeons/bosses. That would be a sure way to stop the farm bots.
When I first saw this, I was horrified. The more I think about it, the more I'm open to the idea. BOE is a feasible way to manage the economy, but BOP would be a nightmare. Glad to see that BOP isn't in the cards - for now.

Since it sounds like modding won't be available, us single player/offline people are not going to be happy with this situation.
Anywho, you always had a hard time finding good stuff offline, this happened in Diablo II as well.
Unless he used a drop mod.
o.O
Elaborate please. I play lots offline, when I can, and I'm usually against mods and the like with the exception of the mule I use.
This piques my interest, however, as I farm quite often.

But, discussing where to get things like that, is against forum policy.
Most mods will have some changes made to the drop ratio but they also make a lot of other changes to the game to balance it out.
You gave me a different look on BoE over all, I dont mind BoE ... I just hope they dont go alot on BoP.
Agin good job
