Well, there's no questions about it now; the Jace Hall Showdid have the inside scoop concerning the female monk. The official Diablo III website has just been updated with two new pieces of artwork, and a 3D render of the female monk.
Bashiok was quick to update us on the official forums.

The monk class page has been updated with all-new art and the in-game model of the female monk. The monk class was announced at BlizzCon, but only the male version was shown at the time. The female option is now revealed on the monk class page.
Pictured to the right, is one of the two new pieces of artwork for the female monk. The second, is similar to the image we were salivating over several days ago, in the sense that it is a standing pose showing off the armored version of the monk.
Both images, as well as the 3D render, showcase the same armor style as the male monk (as would be expected), and personally, I think it flows very nicely with the current art style. It's simple, yet has a splash of color that will provide some extra eye candy in game. Something else I noticed that was similar between the two genders, was the beads they wear around their necks. Nothing has been said about it thus far, but perhaps background lore about the monks order will be tied into them in the near future.
On a sidenote, it seems that the pixie haircut is here to stay. I'm sure we'll warm up to it once we start eviscerating monsters in style, no other character got a haircut that rad.
Now, after having the official monk art revealed, I wonder if any Female Monk Fanart can compare...
(Also, props to Seniri and Shatterer for bringing this to our attention)

"One in every 10 million people can potentially have a headache from this pill." God forbid she is the 0.000000001% of having a headache.
When we had those pictures from the Jace Hall show I was pretty unenthusiastic due to two things: huge pauldrons and the hairstyle.
When looking at the render and the other concept art, the shoulder pads have indeed been toned down. They seem more appropriate to the armour and less painful, should she ever reach her hands up into the sky.
Her hairstyle is starting to grow on me. Even though it's not something I can get enthusiastic about, it isn't as stylized as it was before. It looks more dishevelled now, but when you look at it from an isometric view it won't matter anyway.
The high definition artwork has definitely nuanced my negative opinion of the female monk. Good job, Blizzard! (as always)
Sweeet. She is hawt lol Cant wait to dish her out in Diablo3 and blow some stuff up!

Not only the Beads around the neck are similar, but she also has the red circles on her forehead, though a bit hidden by her hair (completely hidden in the artwork, but it can be seen on the character page render).
She looks really awesome, and i'm glad that in the 3D render her hair is swept over one eye, the official artwork looks a little too butch. looking forward to playing in the year 2050...
I like the concept of the female Monk. The best part about it is that she's not flaunting her stuff around like a whore. There is actually material covering her, which is almost astonishing seeing that its the female concept. On the other hand, would a monk flaunt their stuff to begin with?
I think they should have made her more asian/packistani looking... I'm not sold on her looking anything like a monk especially the blonde hair.. wtf!? meh doesn't matter I have no interest in playing the monk class anyway... just barb and wizard for me, possibly a rogue if that's what the fifth class will be.
I love the look of the female monk! The fact that she is blond is icing on the cake and anyway don't blondes have more fun! This just makes waiting for Diablo III that much harder. Now I only hope they keep the female Barb a redhead:)!
I guess Blizz just can't please everyone, but I sure love the style of the female Monk. The hair is exactly what I imagined, color and all. And the armor looks very fitting. Even the shoulder armor fits her. You all have to remember that the Monks use their arms primarily for quick hit and run combat, they don't use weapons as exclusively as the other classes do. Also, the Monks don't want to get hit, so the body armor is toned down more. Blizz made that a perfect balance IMO. Well done.

..are you sure that's the word you want to use there?
She looks great, worth the wait! I love the concept art, I'm a fan of flash armor :P. I hope heavier armor pieces look as the shoulder pieces do in the concep art, ans light ones as in the 3d render.

BTW, wth was up with the "I guess pixie haircuts aren't hot" guy on the blizz forum? Her haircut is very hot!
I'm still not diggin' the huge shoulderpads tho.
I still dislike, but the concept pic on the page looks a little better than the first ones we saw.
The render looks fine, but I'm assuming that's supposed to be her "light armor" look.
Sorry.

Good post too Zhar!

Looks good with the beads and the absence of the 2 huge piles of metal on her shoulders.
Edit- The 3D version is even better!
