I looked at that poll, as well. It didn't impress me. Whether Blizzard chooses to make any Diablo game for a console is no longer the issue for me. What the issue is for me is: What is the mind set of the people here toward the idea of Blizzard making any part of the Diablo franchise for a console system. I already have the poll answers in mind, it's just getting the presentation to be un-biased and to be to-the-point and respectful to all that I'm planning now.

If you look at modern consoles and look at their configuration, you will notice that they are going the way of being more like "specialized computers" than a box with a basic processor and only enough memory to save a game. With the current technology of solid state drives being introduced and practical now, it is more likely that consoles will evolve into something more like computers, but for gaming only. Thereby allowing for more eventual afordable "gaming computers". At least, this is my honest prediction and observation of the technology.
I think a few people on this thread have the wrong idea. I'm positive that Blizzard would not sacrafice an element of gameplay in terms of the PC version to create a console port. They are not, in any way, going to displease their dedicated fans to get more customers. With that said I think that they would do a great job if they wanted to make a game for console and PC so i dont think the PC ppl have anything to worry about, its not like you have to buy for console and console only.

Didn't Mike Morhaime say like year ago that they won't go to consoles before they get full support for proper Input devices. Also console makers take hefty amount of cash out of the game sales.
I really hope they never make a game where they need to cut out some features because there is not enough buttons or something. (MW2 not balanced for lean!)
with a lil bit of luck bashiok might comment on our matter to help clear up a big issue haha but that might be to much wishful thinking

Should have a mouse and partial keyboard (only need an equivalent of the left side of a keyboard) attachable to consoles. Im pretty sure there is one out there, i saw a vid of a guy on youtube with it. Its prohibitively expensive though i believe.
Its just a shame that the controllers of today are so limiting to the game experience. At least give people the option.
The day Blizzard starts to make a certain game on both PC and console, is the day the game in question will be worse than what it could have been if made exclusively on PC only. The reason for this is that PC's are more adaptable/advanced.
The PC could do things that consoles could not. If they were to make games for both PC and consoles, then the PC games would most likely be bogged down to be playable on the console. This means that we would get a product that is worse than what it would have been.
For example, Crysis was a game that the consoles could not handle and it was not released to consoles.
WoW was not released on console due to its seamless and non-instanced world. The consoles cannot handle the non-instanced world as easily as a PC could. Only way would be to improve console hardware and thus increase cost's.
In conclusion, PC games that are being developed for both PC and consoles is a bad idea due to the different specifications each has. One (primarily the consoles) would force the other to be bogged down to reduce developement costs and such.
For shooter game and point and click game, the PC is obviously the best for.
The joystick bring a new gameplay, and remotes having a restricted number of buttons.
Else, the console's possibilities grow over and over.
The biggest things annoying for console are now resolved : Patch and update, now 360 and ps3 handle this very well.
360 and ps3 Multiplayers community grow and became big enough for a company to think if releasing a console game is a good idea $.

Ok let me give you a scenario:
Diablo 3 comes out in November 2011 on PC and Mac and everyones happy cuz it didn't come out on console and the controls are ideal for diablo 3 and you couldn't have been happier
Febuary 2012 Diablo comes out for Xbox 360 and PS3
Will this really have a lasting effect on your opinion of the gameplay if nothing has changed since the release of the game on PC? (considering you liked the PC version)
i would love to see a reply to this one

On PC games you can cheat, hack etc etc but on xbox 360 for instance, you cant. Well maybe you can but how big are the chances:D i actually prefer console games for this reason. You can have fun instead of being haunted constantly by a cheater or a hacker.
I just got that warm, fuzzy feeling inside knowing that someone else besides me feels that way.
Thank you! <(^.^)>
