THEY DIDNT CHOSE KOREA TO MAKE THE ANNOUNCEMENT, STARCFRAFT 2 FOR KOREA FANS. that is not how it is. I hate to break it to you starcraft people.
But you fail to realise how a company works.
First, they have to analyze what market their games are turned towards. In Korea, where the event is held, Starcraft is their most successful game, with Diablo having much less of a following there compared to in the U.S
Second is publicity. When they throw an event, it needs to present something worthwhile and have everyone on edge. Everything that goes on there will be relayed to all fan-sites and magazines in the world. Announcing Diablo 3 will cause only mild interest from most people, while announcing Starcraft 2 will create an uproar of enthusiasm and interest.
Third is the intelligence of a company. Blizzard didn't just yesterday figure out that they wanted to go to Korea. They also did not just realise yesterday that "Hey, our game is done. When can we announce it?" Announcements like these are planned way ahead of time, they know when and where everything is going to happen. If D3 was the next product to be done, they wouldn't have headed to Korea.
Fourth, regarding the trademark activity in Diablo. The only thing that suggests is that D3 (or anything related to Diablo) is close to being unvelied, however that does not in any way prevent SC2 from also being announced, and neither does it mean that D3 has to be announced at first opportunity.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

If you take a look at my previous post I think you will see that it does mean they need to announce it soon. While it makes sense to announce Starcraft 2 in Korea (and i would like to see that as much as Diablo 3), there is much, much more evidence pointing to a release of Diablo 3 first.
What you're both failing to see is that Blizzocn is in summertime, which will probably be when D3 is announced. Starcraft 2 will be announced soon, to keep koreans waiting on their toes, and wanting to play, and D3 will be announced shortly thereafter, probably even to raise anticipation, or to shock with suprise because they released a game, so it wouldnt seem like they would release another one. So really, I think SC2 is in korea being announced, then shortly after at Blizzcon, they will announce Diablo 3 and really, there doesnt need to be a big thing for a warcraft expmansion you already know is coming, which would be pointless anyway...but I think we have 2 games coming
Starcraft 2 - Korea
Diablo 3 - Blizzcon
and maybe next year theyll unveil another product....

irrelevant your ideas of how things work at blizzard do not apply. Too Many people are riding on assumptions.
I didn't post to say its not going to be starcraft, or its going to be diablo.
It's For people on either side, you need to realize the "it's goto be starcraft 2 because its being held in korea Idea" has very little validity.
Thats all. period.
For people in this forum, for other news websites, for other forums. It's all bullshit, All accept the official announcement.
Im putting my money on Diablo 3, and they will announce that there will be 100 classes to choose from, fully customisable everything, and a pinkey ring... i dont know why. But praise to the druids that this will come true. Dont listen to the hammerdins, they dont know what they are talking about.

I am stoked to hear that anything is coming out from Blizzard. My belief's tell me that this will not be Diablo 3.
Next Gen- Recently has been applied a lot to new gaming consoles. (IE, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii) Blizzard Entertainment was negotiating with Microsoft during developement phase of Starcraft Ghost. Blizzard has wanted a console game for quite some time.
With the developement of Starcraft Ghost, they (Blizzard) had exactly what they wanted, a First Person Shooter, that was the offspring from a hit title. This ment huge sales on Platform and PC. Blizzard again was recently on the table with Microsoft for a console game. Most people speculated that it was, World of Warcraft for the console. Blizzard is highly realize's it will not want to compete against itself for sales. Their is still a huge amount of WoW gamers playing on the PC. They will not want to pull away subscribers from one to another.
I believe we will be getting some sort of Starcraft FPS for the console. Like Starcraft Ghost, this would not be a sequel to Starcraft but infact an entire new line of game, much like Battlefront to the Lucasarts Empire.
Blizzard Official response indicates that they will not announce anything about Starcraft at this time and hints toward the future. It is not unlike Blizzard to play this sort of strategy to through off speculators like you and I.
Being that we are all Diablo fans then we all know that the Purple Gem was exactly of the same ploy. "Working as intended. Infact working better then expected."

Dude, you're making an ass of yourself- READ WITH YOUR DAMN EYES
there is logic all over this subject, but none of it is from you!
Phrozen is correct and logical in his assumptions, it WILL most likely be Starcraft in KOREA. It's a BUSSINESS MOVE. You are completely failing to recognize the connection, which must mean you either can't read, or you're just an idiot! Blizzard is a company full of very creative very wise bussinessman, who obviously know what they are doing- to not release a starcraft game in Korea would earn them less publicity and less sales. if you say there isnt proof of this, then go over there and do something as simple as turning on a televison- YOULL SEE STARCRAFT. So, my point is, stop being an ignoramus and arguing something that you can't argue. The facts are here, all we can do is speculate on what makes PERFECT sense, well, perfect sense to everyone but an idiot who couldn't recognize the simple connection...

Of course not, but it certainly gives a hint of what is more likely to happen.
People need to have an open mind, true, but that does not mean we should weight all implications and reasonings equally. A person with an open mind right now supporting a Starcraft announcement will change sides if the other sides arguments start to weight more heavily. So far though, I can't see that they do.

this month is going to be my best month in quite a long time. after all, i graduate on the 24th, and blizzard announces a new game on the 19th. i think that if its diablo 3 it'll be better for my mood for graduation.
Sry guys, but Blizzard-Korea has already confirmed it will be a starcraft2 anouncement
(good 4 me as a blizzard rts fan)
Blizzard Korea? Must have been formed over night real quick.
Anyways thoes are still just rumers bro..
But, this led me to Blizzard's Korean website which is formatted different than it's national one with interesting pictures.... (if thats what you were refering too)
only franchise without an image would be Starcraft. Still it doesnt prove anything. Most except the Diablo 2 LoD thingy is Warcraft lore related (especially Illidan fighting Arthas is pretty impressive. But again, its more like showing the past. Nothing indicates about the future.
arent those pics just screenshot captures and/or Wallpapers?

Either way I still doubt that they will release Starcraft 2.. I still believe this will be a console first person shooter from the Starcraft line. Either Starcraft Ghost or some other named title along that line.

Also to add in extra proof that Blizzard is, does, and will play to the korean fan base.. here is a link to a starcraft bungee setup for WWI..
"Diablo 3 takes place in heaven. Hell is trying to take it over and it is AWESOME looking … Imagine the brightness of heaven being taken over by the darkness of hell … Imagine WoW but in a Diablo world in amount of size and playability … Also, guild housing is available in this game for those of you who know about it. They should have a gameplay demo to show at BlizzCon."
Apparently, according to this former Blizzard employee, Blizzard should be showing a D3 demo at BlizzCon. Now whether they will announce the game at BlizzCon or in Korea, I do not know. However the logical conclusion I made was D3= Blizzcon, SC2 = Korea. I am a die-hard D3 fan but I must state that May 19th is StarCraft 2. Sorry.
PS. All you Starcraft fans, find your own forums. You're biased half-assed statements are clogging OUR news forums.

When asked by GameSpot if the Warcraft universe was all that's left for the company to mine, chief operating officer Paul Sams said, "No. Absolutely not. We have multiple games in development, currently, they are just not announced… To the outside world--and the reality of it is--we are laser focused on what is the thing right then, but there's a ton of additional focus being put toward these other [games] that are in development."
Though i may (alright, am) stating the obvious, people shouldn't get disappointed if SC2 is announced in Korea and not D3 as Blizzard has clearly pointed out that they have more than one project going on unrelated to WoW (*sigh of relief). There is plenty of hope for D3 if it is not announced in May. My top post shows that D3 is definitely(DEFINITELY) not dead.

I understand that this was from last year, but i doubt that BlizzCon wasn't planned ahead of time. Therefore, this statement of a demo at BlizzCon shows that they must have been planning the release of D3 for several months, if not a year. Al I'm saying is that Blizzard isn't stupid, they've been strategically planning their game announcements to both drive gamers crazy and raise the most money possible in the quickest way possible. (Wow that was long-winded)
