Logic dictates that the fifth and final class will be a beastmaster or ranged warrior.
Archer
I'm looking forward to an anti-hero/ evil archer as shown next.
Inquisitor/ Templar
A holy warrior in the same mould as the paladin will also do. I honestly thought that the monk will cover the 'holy warrior' thing but a religious-fanatic character like an Inquisitor will bring much variety to the table.
I agree with all your post except this "fter the process of creating the other classes, I think they found the simple rogue to be somewhat lacking, and have re-thought the design."
The same happened with th barbarian. In some interview Wilsom said that after creating the other classes their looked back at the Barbarian and started to feel he was lacking the "over the topness". After that they made the Seismic Slam, the AoE meteoric Leap Attack and added a flashing effect on Charge.
I think the same would happen in the Rogue you know. Add some rain of arrows, crazy traps, gas bombs and fancy dagger moves and job done. I stilll think the last class is called Rogue and have a Rogue background.
i agree also that 5th class maybe archer or kinda like amazon cuz they are kinda following diablo 2 with the same kind of character classes at first...however the 5th class are probably going to start out at...maybe sharval wilds that sounds like a good place for a archer class to start out...
That's too boring, when you already have the monk..
lol exactly monk is cool but rogue still wouldn't follow the whole thing they have going on with diablo 3 like exploding things and would probably be boring to the people just sneaking and around and then...BOOM backstab! "boring to me"
Is it just me or do ranged weapons like bows (not AoE like bombs) not fitting in to what blizzard are making D3 look like ie. enphasis on action/melee/AoE. With hordes and hordes of enemies coming at you a ranged char would have to fire off 10 arrows at once or have a rediculous rate of fire like 10/s, otherwise they'd have to be buffed or have some kind of AoE dmg, a pet is an absolute must then i guess. And in a party it seems like they won't have much use because they've beefed up the melee attackers so much.
I'm gonna say ranger, cos it seems to be a logical mix of rogue/amazon from D1/D2 like others were saying, but it's deffinately gonna be interesting to see how they balance this char... if it is ranged...
Well not that i was dissapointed with the monk or anything but i was seriously expecting to have an archer type of character when i went to look at the characters on the d3 page. Plus the name of the 5th char if it will be ranged doesnt have to be rogue or ranger theres other names for it like warden and protector.

But how about a dwarf engineer?
Like ranged inventor that can make stuff that he and the group can use? writing this late so that maybe why it sounded good in my head
Or maybe a human inventor? I just thought dwarf was an interesting twist ^^
While i love a game with different races such as elves and dwarves that just doesnt fit into the world of diablo/sanctuary.

I have no idea why people think that there cant be any other class that can summon. Almost every class in D2 had some kind of summon even the barb had that totem thing. So if it is a ranger/hunter dont freak out if it can summon.

People are against the summoning of pets because blizzard said they are trying to make each class very different and with 4/5 classes shown. We can all agree they have done it so far. Therefore most odds are we won't have 2 pet classes. Especially with the WD having summons in multiple trees.

Well the wizard technically has the hydra as a type of summon lets just hope they keep that spell.

Yup thats what summons for an archer type character are usually used for.

Well you're not taking into account what the arrow skills its gonna have can do. Who knows maybe it can have some kind of slowing arrow or paralyzing arrow so it uses those againt siegebreaker and then it follows up with an arrow that does much more damage.

That Archer looks bad ass!:thumbsup:

I'm personally betting on the fifth class to be a general class with balanced characteristics.
The rogue seems most likely.

from the original D2 over to D3 --
Barbarian --> Barbarian
Sorceress --> Wizard
Necromancer --> Witch Doctor
Paladin --> Monk
Amazon --> ???
Now, if I had to guess, the next class will be the Amazon analog.
That is, ranged, physical damage type character.
Hunter doesn't fit the bill, because he will most likely summon animals to his aide,
which the Witch Doctor already does.
Ranger more accurately fits the bill. So I would go with Ranger.
