Dont ask me why there is 2 threads with the same topic.
When it comes to the view theres many pros and cons for each side so im not really sure on what i would want, but im sure blizzard will do a good job.
When it comes to the actual graphics, textures, monster/character designs; I just hope they stick to the "dark horror/fantasy themed" style. But of course improve the texture quality/detail and max resolution for the game. I pray that it does not turn cartoony, raw flesh wounds, spitting acid, pools of blood and rotting corpses would look better with more detail.
one is the newer version. there were new additions to the lst in the old one which in effect changed peoples votes. so a new thread was made.

K heres what i think: Faction: Heaven/Hell -> Gender: Male/Female -> Base Class -> Fighter/Mage
of course you can edit your chars apperance as well
Fighters
Warrior Simaler to the warrior from the original game, but with more skills, like a combo. of skills from like Assassin and Barbarian in D2, evil warrior would be like what Bartuc originaly was when he turned evil or like the Demon/Undead knights in Diablos relm in D1&2, but human, and with skills mentioned above
Ranger For Females they would be from the Rouge Monestary, and be simaler to the Amazon of D2, for Males, they would be like classic D&D Rangers, but with D2 Amazon skills, evil Rangers for females would be corrupted rouges, but w/ Amazon skills, males would be like above, just evil
Palidan It would be very much like the Palidan of D2, but perhaps with somewhat diff. Skills/Abilities like mabye a resserection spell or something, lay on Hands mabye? is it to much to ask? Evil Palidans would be like fallen palidans, with same abilities, but affecting holy things, not undead Ex. Holy Bolt-Unholy Bolt
Barbarian I like the classic D2 Barb, but i would like him to mabye be a bit more Tankish give him some kind of defence buff skill set mabye? Evil Bararians could be part of Nilathak's renegade force or brutes givin power by demons or somthing like that
Assassin The Assassin class of D2 was a little off, mabye just for me but i would like an Assassin to have some kind of early cloak ability and throw away the traps set, replace it with something usful in both teaming and soloing, i wouldnt know what though, mabye thats why Blizz put it in there in the first place. Do i really need to say how an evil assassin would be portrayed? fine:same story, evil pays better, how about that?
Mages
Sorceror the sorcerors of D3 would have elemental classes liek Sorceress in D2 but for both male and female selections an evil sorceror would be a corrupt Vizjerei such as Horizon became.
Necromancer I for one loved the necromancer of D2 so i would liek the same or simaler class and skills in D3. As far as i can tell the necromancer in D2 was a reformed Necromancer, so an evil Necromancer would be the exact same, but non-reformed
Druid I also was very fond of the druid in D2 it had a good combo of necro/sorcess skills which made it a very fun class, so i would like the same class to be portrayed in D3 as simaler as possible hmmm an evil Druid lets see, there are "evil" trees right? so evil woodland spirits as well, so thats where an evil Druid would get his/her skills/spells
I also thought that it would be awesome if when you beat Normal/Nightmare/Hell if you could gain acess to more advanced classes/Abilities. so heres my idea: Beat Normal------
your Chars. would be able to acess a pool ability set from a variety that all Chars could acess after beating Normal. Set ideas are as follows: Fighting Mounts/Faster Travel Healing Summoning Defence AllyBuffs HostleDeBuffs
Beat Nightmare------
Acess to Epic Classes (must start on Normal with Epic Classes)
Heaven
Angel One of Tyreal's Soldiers can have some palidan abilities, plus some new powers like acual Holy Spells or something like that, holy enchantments that affcet not only undead but demons as well.
Horadrim Mage Tyreal could have re-started the Horadrim and they could have like a set of spells for Demons, one for Undead, and one set for Passive spells, like conversions, auras, and buffs against demons
Zakarum Priest They could pretty much be glorified Palidans, w/ less offencive skills and more buffs = auras, holy spells-(undead), and buffs against and from undead
Hell
Fallen Angel Pretty much explains itself in the name, dosnt it? an Angel who has been corrupted, has same powers as Angel, but against holy and angelic entities
Undead Warrior could be a skeleton knight/Captain/warrior-whatever or perhaps a zombie? with warrior/evil Palidin abilities and of course much more powerful than an evil warrior/palidan
Mage Definatly a zombie/Skeleton Mage like in D2, but having sorceror-like spells, mabye a Death spell set?
Demonic Warrior I wouldnt like the idea of playing an imp demon, but i did like the idea of being a demon overlord like a cool version of the butcher or Hephisto? and being able to summon the little demon imps as well as have demon strength and fighting skills.
Mage
I thought about this, and i came up with either a Demon "shamon" or one of the demon mages found in Diablos Sancuary, but with Sorceror/Druid elemental skills
Beat HELL-----------
You will have acess to more Skill Set Pools and two New Epic Classes
Archangel One of Tyreal's Leutenants, be a glorified Angel Class w/ another skill set instead of Holy Spells---Power of The Light---have passive Def/Off/HP/MP buffs as well as Attack Spells and Weapon Enchantments Hell
Evil A direct servant of one of the 7 Evils:Terror,Destruction,Hatred can only be accesed if you have beat Normal with a Level 2 Epic Class All Evils have inborn sets which coorispond with that particular evil the open acessed Evils are Pain, Anguish, Sin, and Lies; Pain= all attack, offence Buff set, Anquish would be simaler but have curse-like spells as well, Sin would be Attack Buffs and Curses and have a cloak ability i think, Lies im not sure how would go down, plz messge me if u have any ideas, Terror would be different debuff curses as well as at least one Fire spell, Destruction would be an all attack-based set. Hatred would be a combo of Terror and Destruction i think.
All these classes coorispond to my story-line idea listed in the proper thread,
pls message me or reply back if you have any comments, or suggestions:cool:
I like the majority of your ideas, but the demonic classes won't fly....
In Diablo you have to be a human character, you could just be Tyreal's or Diablo's right hand man. I guess being a skeleton could be incorporated but it wouldn't really fit the original two Diablo story lines. I think you would just have to be a follower of evil.
Maybe you can give your spin by incorporating the human aspect?
Besides that, good work =)

ok this is what i think, you have maybe 2 or 3,4 new classes and you can change there gender. "tired of playing a sorceress instead of a sorcerer or a women necromancer" but ne way then instead of having skill trees which are nice. you could go back to the books. but instead of everyone being able to use all the books. each class could use a certian amount of that book. like a palidan and sorceress. a palidan could use a teleport book. but wont be as powerful or as efficient as the sorceress. see what im saying. then you could have skill trees for specified class skills. like a barbarians war crys. or something like that.

just my opinion but I really liked the simplicity of the skills trees maybe just make them more complicated or take more knowledge to make a good build?

For Diablo, sticking with the basics would be Human Warrior, Sorcerer and Rogue
Theres no way they would add in anything more than human races now.
2 games + expansions + manuals + 8 novels and the only mentioning of anything intelligent besides Human would be the Sabre Cats and maybe the Fetish. Then Elfs and Dwarfs just pop up from... Scolsgen? Kehjistan?
well i really liked the books in diablo 1 and i sorta liked the diablo 2 skill tree but the only thing i didnt like about the skill tree is the skills other characters could use. like teleport.
A lot of people didn't like those cross-class runewords. I personally like them, but then again, I just like CTA.
I think its stupid, every character has bo, bc and teleports around.... how original. I think the same thing goes for auras, auras are supposed to be for paladins and act2 mercenaries! by crossing over skills your devaluing the classes
I AGREE!!! I hate the runewods that gives bo's and teleport. Makes every other class have other peoples skills. (if that made any sense) I hated that which is one of the reasons I hate dueling and expansion.

I agree, dueling was basically the same for every class for two reasons, Enigma, and CTA. The two worst inventions ever for Diablo. A Barbarian should not be able to teleport, they baically don't have the "mental" capacity to do so.
Maybe you could cross over some skills, maybe ones that don't really define a class, such as vigor or increased stamina, skills that could be used by every class.
You could have a skill tree which everyone has which has basic skills such as increased speed, stamina etc. and also have your own unique skill tree which only that class has access to.

I don't think that skills should be crossed over in between characters any way at all. Diablo II used to be more of a group game. For example, baal runs needed a team of more than one person so that you can actually kill Baal and survive. Now people make hammerdins with barbarian skills, druid skills, and sorceress skills. I think Diablo pretty much has a character class called Amanecrobarbapalassadrusorc. It's really dumb. The amulets with other character skills are allright because they take so much money to repair. But even that is pretty much crossing the line. I want each individual class to be diverse.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
Plus it makes sense what Alpha is talking about. In the classic fantasy world, which is where I assume diablo takes place, a group of heroes takes on some great and evil foe. The wizard is weak and feeble, but can cast deathly spells. The barbarian/warrior/paladin is strong and stoic but not so much with the casting. It makes them work together or die, and I like that about the fantasy theme. I hope to see this more in D3.
