I think that they will pretty much keep the same classes they had in DII. I would also think that they would keep the assasin because it is very different to all the afformentioned classes due mainly to its light weapons and fast martial arts style of attack and seems like it would fit in well with what I can guess the story line will be about.
I have to agree, they should have kept the original classes including the druid and assassin. Unfortunately it will not be the case. It is possible that some of the old classes like druid, siin and necro who most likely wont be part of Diablo III will appear in its expansion pack if there even will be one.
But luckily for us consumers, we have a say in this, as long as blizzards gets enough complaints/ recommendations there will be change. Now is the time to tell them what you think, while the game is still in alpha ans subject to change.
I agree with the idea that they will keep the same basic classes from d2
Barb=Barb
Necro=Witch doctor (diseases=curses and he has summoning)
Some unnamed Ranged Class (amazon)
Some unnamed Support Class (Pally)
Some Unnamed Magic Class (Sorc)
also I hope noone from WoW joins in and expects a "tank and healer" if I even hear those names be put down I will verbally rip some kids face off
in diablo 3 i was told there is only 5 charaters is this true. I was also woundering what's the topic for the new daiblo 3 does anyone here know that. can we choose female or male in this new one
Maybe a character that has demonic heritage (maybe a demon lusted after his mom or something) and wants to do good, even though he is hated by most.
Black hair and eyes, vestigial horns, pale skin, etc.

Meh, I really doubt she can 'sense evil' or whatever. She was probably just excited about a shoe sale or something, coincidentally when evil was about.
I enjoy the characters blizzard comes up with and so far they haven't really made a new one considering that the witch doctor is really a necromancer with a different name.
I'd like to see a Character class who use TRUE DEMONIC MAGICS, not just undead and halloween stuff like the necromancer. I'm talking about the real deal, the kind of dark magic a demon straight from hell would use. Maybe they could call this class "Dark Oracle" or "Soul Hunter" w/e. The name of the class is not as important as it's attributes.
And another class i would like to see is a Crusader, which would replace in a way the paladin, except without the auras...
I actually want to see a really unique class. Blizzard is very innovative so I would expect something really out of the box.
One thing that comes to mind for myself is a Shapeshifter class. No,not like your druid who can change to animal. But like a real SHAPESHIFTER who can shapeshift into monsters, elementals or some weird beast. Have a fix set of characters they can morph into. And maybe even have 1-2 rare forms that can be obtained through a secret way or quests.

I would love to see some sort of ranger type class being on diablo 3. i would think that a ranger/ assassin could be the same class if u have different trees of it and the third tree being some sort of trap related tree. Paladins would be amazing because they are my favorite class in D2 but i wouldnt mind seeing some sort of fallen paladin or even a swordmaster of sorts being the third tree for that class. And of course the sorcerer would be amazing. I just can't see a diablo game without it.
Please I hope that they continue supporting the prominent figures of the previous editions

And add new
what i would like too see is all the old chars stay, and just bring in one or two new ones,
thats it.
of course have new abilitys for the old / new ones.
that'll make me happy.
Despite the Witch Doctor and the Necromancer sharing several characteristics, primarily of that which pertains to their ability to utilize the undead, they are two different character archetypes which can co-exist in the same game without making it seem as if there is two of the same class.
unless they totally revamp the necro i don't know how you can honestly consider having a nerco class, as we know it currently, and a which doctor in the same game. it would be a waste of everyones time. the fans boys are just going to have to suck it up on this one.

How about a man / woman's spirit? A dead druid's spirit that has taken over a mage's body. So it'd be kind of a hybrid hero.
The animals that he summons are enchanted:
Summon Fire Bulls
Blizzard of fel boars
etc etc.
Whadyathink?
HELLLLLLLLL........Yes
its like the Deverish in Guild Wars, just too powerful that its not fair
Thx for the support heh.
