I finished reading all of the diablo books, and with some certainty Zayl will be in Diablo 3. He having so much tied to Astrogha (moon of the Spider, and that the book occurs after the worldstone is destoryed), when Astrogha is released Zayl "should" return as an NPC to see what happened. There was talk that some characters from the previous games would only return as NPCs, a necromancer such as Zayl would also fit that description. I remember reading a blue post with the names of 2 demons that were confirmed in Diablo 3 Astrogha being one. What do you think of this possibly being true?
Yea I dont think they said Astrogah was going to be in the game. Although it would be vary cool.

Unfortunately I don't think we'll be seeing it. I remember they decided not to put Ureh in D3. Maybe in a expansion?
No Ureh?? Then why did they put it in the teaser??
And to think I had my hopes up to see one of the Primes (Diablo that is) rising from there...though I know that the curse of the limbo has been lifted.
Because initially they had planned to put Ureh in D3. But after some conflict they decided it best to not. Maybe in an expansion.
I believe it's a fairly likely that we will see Zayl.

If we are going to see any character that has never before been seen outside of the books, then I would think it's either Zayl of Astrogha. Both have appeared in several stories as opposed to just one, and both appeared in the last book to be written and published.

Yes I agree with that. However, if Zayl is there, so will Humbart.
I know. I merely pointed out that Zayl was also in the Moon of the Spider, hence I didn't see why his appearance would be related to whethe Ureh would be in the game or not.

Finally finsihed the last book!!
Rathma be praised!!
Zayl has to be present in D3 I feel. Some lines from Moon of the Spider reinforce this point.
Pg. 18
The Balance was in too precarious a state to turn a blind eye from what needed to be
done.
After all, the Worldstone had been destroyed...
Pg. 19
The necromancer turned his attention back to his meal
and his thoughts. In truth, he could actually not be certain
that the Worldstone had been destroyed, but the evidence
was certainly there. Mount Arreat—where legend claimed
it had been hidden—had exploded, its entire top ravaged.
The destruction had been heard about even here in far-
away Westmarch. More to the point, the rumors among
those with the sight gave starker credence to the horrific
claim. It was said that one of the Prime Evils themselves—
Baal, Lord of Destruction—had been the cause, and if so,
the mortal plane was in for far worse to come. The
Worldstone had existed since time immemorial, created, so
the teachings of Rathma said, to keep the mortal world
protected. Now, both the powers of Light and Darkness
reached out to fully claim humanity, and in their battles
against one another the two cosmic factions threatened to
destroy what they desired. Somehow, all that tied into
Zayl’s own urge to come to Westmarch. Somewhere in this
vast kingdom, the repercussions of Baal’s heinous deed
would soon be felt.

“My work is done. It is time I moved on. There are other
emanations I sense. The Balance is still threatened...”
The final extract above seems to seal it. Zayl will continue on with his work...
And from across the estate of House Nesardo, a figure who
resembled a mercenary with many faces but was so much
more watched the necromancer and the woman he had just
left.
They had been tested and had risen to that test. The
watcher nodded. A pair with potential. True, he had aided
a bit by guiding the Rathmian’s wendigo to where the
creature could be the most help to the duo, but it had been
through their efforts most of all that the evil had been van-
quished.
It would be interesting to see how they fared when next
brought together.
With that thought, he spread his fiery wings and, unseen
by all, took to the sky.
Tyrael makes a comeback. Or was it another angel?? Highly unlikely because this is exactly Tyrael's way of guiding the heroes.
I had completely forgotten that last part. It can certainly be Tyrael, but it could be any unannounced angel we haven't seen so far. I mean really, Tyrael can't do everything all the time. It's time some new angels were introduced I say
