Arguably, but he looks better than Baal. Was anyone else as surprised as me when you realised that he is not sitting in a chair in the intro movie, but standing on his legs?
Zombie Diablo? Bleh, would ruin Diablo's badass looks
Yeh i agree baal looks like shit, but at least he can be bothered using his own...uh...8 legs?
I agree with what you say, diablo is the tank of the prime evils and turning him zombie would make him look like shit.

You think zombies dont look badass ?!?!?!?!?!?!
here is my formula (badass zombie+badass Diablo = [badass x2] zombie Diablo) please tell me that dosent make sense (= P)...
why must every 11 minutes of my life be filled with misery and woe, why must i write essays to explain things people should already know
the only stone never to have been seen being destroyed is baal's so would all you idiots who say diablo's stone was never destroyed please shut the fuk up. and please for the love of god get it through your heads, the prime evils do not need soulstones to exist. especially now seeing as they have been destroyed. mephisto's and diablo's are destroyed in the same movie. you see a crimson stone get smashed followed by an azure stone being smashed, you dont see baal's stone being destroyed, but since diablo's and mephisto's stones had to be destroyed, the same must be said about Baal's.
prehaps baal's stone was never shown being smashed, as someone putting a soulstone in the forehead is very over used and Blizzard wouldnt use that concept again. especially since the prime evils dont actually need them.
they ruled over the burning hells for years(note no soulstone), the lesser evils rebelled against them (note no soulstone), they were banished to the mortal realm from Hell (note no soulstone), they ran rampant in the world of sanctuary (note no soulstone), mephisto is captured and his essence placed in a soulstone and buried beneath a temple in kurast, Baal is catured in the desert, but due to his destructive nature, breaks the soulstone the Horadrim try to trap his essence in, tal rasha sacrifices himself to replace the lost part,(which has no magic energy), diablo is captured and his essence trapped in a soulstone and buried beneath the cathedral at tristram.
the soulstones only came into play when they were captured in the mortal realm.
Mephisto and Diablo, escape their inprisonment in similar ways, they haunt the dreams of someone, (i think mephisto did this) Diablo haunts the dreams of Lazarus, while mephisto haunts the dreams of a council member. the first choice for someone to be the embodiment of Diablo is King Leoric, but he is old, and it does not work, so they move on to the next person the Prince Albrecht. a similar situation occurs in the jungles of kurast, a council member is chosen to be the embodiment of Mephisto. They soulstones are placed in the body of the chosen person and the prime evil slowly takes over.
when killed, then essence from the stone, returns to the stone, this is seen in the end movie of diablo 1, diablo reverts back to the prince, then the prince dies shortly after. The warrior picks up the soulstone places it in his head and the process is repeated.
Baal is inprisoned withing a partial stone and the mage tal rasha, who after years of torment finally becomes the embodiment of Baal.
once released all three prime evils meet in the Durance of Hate, the location of Mephistos inprisonment (durance means prison), Diablo in the form of the warrior, assumes his true form, it is unclear if mephisto is in his true form, nor Baal for that matter, but what is important to note, is the fact that Baal is there, he is still pretty much in the form of tal rasha, but he has through his long peroid of attachment to Baal, gained some of his powers, and there is something else, oh thats right no soulstone!!! marius has Baals soulstone. he doesnt have his soulstone and the other two prime evils are either oblivious or dont care.
Baal does not get his soulstone back till almost the end of the last movie, then he burns down the asylum.then LOD begins, in this same movie we see a large hand (possible the barbs) smash first a crimson soulstone (diablo's) then a azure soulstone (mephisto's). the only stone not destroyed here is Baals, but that is because he has not been killed yet.
now things get alittle weird, now with diablo and mephisto becasue their stones were whole, they were simply placed in a host body's forehead, and the slowly took over the body. now with Baal is a little different, Tal Rasha was used to replace part of the soulstone. Baals soulstone is never placed in the body of tal rasha again since marius removes it. in LOD he holds in around his neck on a chain of some sort.
Baal is finally defeated, and the worldstone which has been corrupt is destroyed. while corrupt, it allowed a multitude of demons to pour through into the mortal realm, the exact effect not having a worldstone will have on the world is unkown at this point, a sequel to d2/LOD will most likely have something to do with this. and the fatc that the prime evils are trapped in the abyss, as this is where smashing their soulstones forces the essence to go.now as any one who has seen or read the share of fantasy movies/tv shows/games will now no one ever stays in an abyss for long take the zelda series for example, in Ocarine Of Time (OOT) you trap ganondorf (ganon) in the abyss, yet he returns in Wind walker (WW). the most common way for some one to return from an abyss is a summoning spell and or ritual. this more often than not caused the person or persons to undergo some sort of change, as they are never in the same form when the return as when they went in. usually the return more beefy and cooler looking.

I have no idea what the storyline for D3 will be all i know is that it will be boss.Cool to see Deckard Cain backstab humanity and somehow release the 3 primes....Might sound stupid.....just an idea.....

I like the idea of Cain fighting Diablo and being turned into a twisted mangled mess of blood and bone.....Never liked him much anyway.....Also i think Wirt should come back, Not to sell things but as a monster kinda like Griswald....Of course using his leg as a weapon...
The important question here though relating to the soulstones is: Will Diablo, after being resurrected,no longer have the crystal in his forehead, and won't that make him look strange?

The idea of one of the evil being resurrected by some evil douchebag totally seems plausible. Then the evil will come to Sanctuary and pwn his sorry ass. Thus creating a pimp D3.
