This is what I meant earlier by more flexibilty, creativity, and information. None of the rest of us have any idea what we are supposed to do. With all of these lines said at anytime the phrase "take me to him" could have been mentioned, instead of waiting for someone to say "let me take you to him". since Jetrall and Elfen are the leaders I think they need to be more straight forward with the progression of the story rather than leaving 1 line as a clue Otherwise none of us will know what is ok to do to help progress the story and what is not ok. I was half way waiting forthe army to come back to life and we would have to fight them again as zombies but I couldnt say "look over there they are coming back to life" ans in that way i was afraid to say "here jamis, lets get you up and looked at over here in this tent with your brother." I am afraid to try to progress the story because I don't know what the story is. but now that i know that this is what i am looking for to progress I can start looking for clues left behind by Jamis and Buliwyf
Okay, Scyber, I get where you're coming from. I do, really. But you have to make a few concessions here.
1) Making the army rise from the dead and having to fight them again is considerably more ridiculous and story-alterting than offering to help someone move. There is no harm in trying something (as long as it makes sense to the situation). The worst that will happen is one of us will say "oh, sorry, that'd doesn't mesh with the storyline" and the post will be removed. You wont be punished for having an idea. And, hey, if it works, we'll keep it around and it'll stay in!
2) We simply cannot explain every single plotline outside of the story. This would just be bad. All the surprises of the story and all the writing would seem pointless if we already knew exactly what was happening and what was going to happen. The point of an RP is to explore a situation from the character's point of view and see where it can go - not know what's going on ahead of time and writing to meet that requirement.
3) Your limitations are completely sensible and necessary. Without them, the story would make absolutely no sense because we'd have ten different people going off in wildly different directions while we simply tried to move the plot forward. I understand that right now it seems frustrating because only myself and Elfen are really moving the story forward but... that's because we know where the story is going. It's the same thing as #2. If you all knew exactly what was going on, where would the fun of discovery be?
All I'm asking is that you guys try to understand that everything in mine and Elfen's posts has some kind of importance / purpose. If we say something that hints at getting a move on in some direction or other, try taking it. Again, the worst that will happen is that it wont work out and we'll go back a post.
If one of us says "It will be getting dark soon. We should probably set up camp... If only we could find a suitable area," (for example) that is our way of implying that we would like someone else to come up with a solution. If a problem is presented in one of our posts or something that provokes initiative, try taking it on. That's really all we want.
Of course Jetrall, I understand fully. Once again, I am new at this and have had a lot of learning experience in this first week. Thank you for your patience with me. I did try to finish up my last post by saying "but now that i know that this is what i am looking for to progress I can start looking for clues left behind by Jamis and Buliwyf" I agree the mystery behind the story is a lot of fun. I am doing my best to try to be creative yet pertain to the story and a lot of times my imagination gets the best of me. I have a hard time following structure and I am trying my best. Once again, thanks to you and elfen for all the hard work you have put into this. With this first week about over I think myself and others have learned a great deal on how this works and I hope the rest can go better and smoother.
Also, My character is supposed to be somewhat of a comedic relief. I am trying to balance realism yet make my character funny for the other characters. If I am going too far or it is getting annoying please let me know.

Huzah, just got back from camping.
I am SO sunburnt, and so damn tired.
I agree with the choice to limit posts per day, it was quite confusing at times to catch up on the RP.
I guess not so much confusing, as ... needless.
People were talking about random shit for a while, and not really progressing the story for a while.
Quality over quantity is something we all need to start considering, several large posts instead of a bunch of smallish posts would be much better, in my opinion st least :/.
Anywho, gotta post on the story !

Haha, yep. Enemies beware!
Seems as if Turmobil won't be in our manage a trois (Probably just butchered the spelling of that, but meh), has he even posted once in the story yet ?
edit: Thanks Ullion ^^.

Nah the day the RP started his PC went to shat. Hes not sure how long it will take or it to get fixed.
And btw, maybe should we all post in a different colour ?
Just noticed how Stormcat quoted Ullion in one of her posts (Using the colour Ullion chose when she quoted him), and it made it incredibly easy to see their conversation.
This got me thinking, if we all posted in different colours....
1. It would make conversations between different characters easier, since you could easily rifle through the posts and see when somebody has quoted you in their posts.
2. It would help eliminate that "wall of text" feel that the story thread has, if the posts are in different colours, it seems less overwhelming than if they are all the same colour.
3. It would help to see who posted what.
4. Not so important, but it would give our posts a bit of individuality. Not to say they don't have that already, but now we'll have some aesthetic individuality ^^.
Anyone else feel this idea?

Haha, well Ullion has green, I've got maroon. So Orange is still up for grabs.
Unless of course Seth beats you down for taking orange... he'll probably want it. Or maybe some other fire-related colour.

That is an interesting idea. I think I might partake of the color-coordination madness. It makes it easier to see who's who in a wall of text. I'm going to use Royal Blue.

Pretty it would do that is she copy pasted the text she wanted to refer to as it was coloured.
But yeah its a good idea.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
Take a look at the last page of the story thread, it's looking much better than before.
I much prefer looking at that, than a wall of beige text ^^.
Hopefully ya'll feel the same :D.

In some RPs I've done, we've done something similar. The majority of the post is in normal colour but every time someone talks or speaks it is in their own colour. Example:
Approaching the Pilot's Rec, John could hear the cheers and hollering emanating from behind the closed door. He gave the door a swift and heavy kick and watched, satisfied, as it swung open for him.
Stepping into the large pilot's rec, he saw Para being lifted up by some of the other pilots and carried around the room like a war hero.
Everyone was chanting "Lieutenant Para, leader of a Squad! Buckle up and grab your rod!"
"What the hell?"
Phoenix came up to him, looking slightly annoyed.
"Didn't you hear?"
"Hear what?"
She sighed. "I've been promoted. So have the rest of those apes."
He looked at her rank pip, saw that she was now a full blown Lieutenant.
"I thought that was a good thing."
"Well," she said. "Now I'm in charge of a full squadron of Vipers... I don't know if I'm up for that."
"Sure you are," he said. "Hell, you're more suited for it than I am. At least I didn't get promoted."
That made her smile.
Maybe you guys want to do it that way? I dunno. That's how imma do it.
Everyone is using the carbon fibre lay out for the site? I.E the one with the black background.
Otherwise some text might be a little hard to see. And that could get annoying.
If there is no issues, Ill probably be going with white from now on.

*nods* Using the carbon fibre one.
Used to use speedvision, but there are actually a lot of bugs and display issues that turned me off of it..

Hmm, interesting way of doing things, but I think I'll stick with keeping my entire post the same colour. Not only because of laziness, but because it makes it easier to see who posted what, and who is posting, when an entire post is in one colour (quotations excluded).
Atleast thats how I see things :/.
