Yeah... Just to throw this out there, maybe someone could try a few things out and contact them privately to see if they like it or something. There would just need to be a little more information on destinations and places.
-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
Here is a (quickly sketched) map of the area (some stuff is approximated, aight, guys?)
The red X is us. We're about 7 miles from Tappas, about 13 from Riddia. Bramwell is about 40 miles away.
I honestly think that the confusion came around with the earlier problem we had of too many people posting too much all at once. The three post per day limit should help cut down on that but really it ought to be even fewer (IMO). I think we all need to take our time with our posts, make sure we've thoroughly read everyone elses posts before ours, and rather than each trying to do our own thing, work together to move the story along.
As it is right now the story is not moving at a very fast pace because we're trying to introduce the situation here that will set up the rest of the story. As with any film or novel, this story has a certain timeline to follow.
You start with exposition and build up, introducing the characters and explaining what's going on. The story begins to climb in intensity and activity and finally peaks with the climax. Following that there is a relatively short wrap-up period. That is how this story will move. Please take that into consideration.
I must apologize. I feel I am most responsible for the confusion. I will do my best to avoid "fluff" and pertain to the story given to us so far. Once again, I am new to this rp concept and over estimated the freedom I had. Sorry for not realizing it sooner.
Also, sorry for the back and forth confusion on the subject but my brother "eldermoon" was wondering if he is still in the rp since his character and thread are still up?

I have a question/request. Could there be a time limit on place holder posts? Everytime I've been wanting to post, I see a place holder, and have to wait for the personto post, but when they take a while to fill it in, then it prevents other people from posting when they may want to.
Like, lets just say, if you post a place holder, you have to fill it in within 24 hours, or else the holder gets deleted?

One becomes strong when they are fighting to protect someone close to them... - Shiro Haku
A lot of us, including me, are mostly just chilling by the fire and reminiscing. Is there anything in particular we should be doing to encourage the story to continue, or is that fine?
Well, there are some people tending to Jamis and Buliwyf (sorry if I didn't spell that right), and I think one or both of them are in a medical tent or something. But yeah, the rest of us are just trying to play out bits of our characters facts and personalties from the Character thread while we're waiting. I guess that's kind of a good thing, though- like in the opening of a story when all the characters are slowly being introduced. Bleh, I don't know
I personally want the story to get moving, but I don't mind waiting around while we do get our character parts played out like Seth said, which is like the beginning of a story. I'm not sure if we should have helped Jamis out, instead of letting him lie on the ground, which I think we did, but I'm new to this and I don't really know. I look back to it now and I do feel like we just left him lying on the ground, but if Jetrall or Elfen think that we didn't then I guess we're alright. Just my thoughts...
Yeah... I thought that was kind of funny in a sad way, actually. For ten posts, everyone was like "Jamis is bleeding to death on the ground over there, but hey look, a fire!"
Well, if I was in the story I'd have helped Jamis.
But honestly, I'd be testing out my spells and skills, training for the next more difficult battle. Not laying around for half the day. Sure there was just a battle, but it was incredibly easy, and the demons of Hell do not take the rest of the day off just because they fought this morning. I mean all but one of you guys need more practice, seeing as how you all got moderately injured. And I'm sure that papercut on the archiver is the worst injury he's seen in quite a while.
Shouldn't you guys be running out of firewood about now too? Or is it some sort of magical neverending firewood?
As far as letting Jamis lay there to die. This is what I am talking about when I say I don't know the limits of my character and more importantly the story and there needs to be more information given.

Yeah. I find it odd that my character had to finally say "if someone will take me to the medical tent..."
The idea was that to get the story moving I needed to talk to Buliwyf (as evidenced by my "where is Buliwyf?" line lol). All's well now though.
Sure, jetrall knows that this line is a set up to help progress the story but none of us know this. It is sort of like talking to my brother. He has all these ideas in his head but he has a hard time getting his thoughts out and across and you never know what he is talking about. I think this is what is happening here. Just a communication problem.
before setting off a bit more cautiously to check on their leader.
When she finally reached him, she bent down without saying a word and inspected the wound, looking for any traces of toxins. After a quick minute of looking around the opened wound, she saw no trace of poison. She looked up at Jamis, and said "Looks like his spear was not laced with any poisons, luckily for you. You should be fine". She shuffled so that she faced the brown haired man, "So then, tell me again, why exactly are we fighting this war for the Tappas?" she asked.
" yes, why indeed" he said with an odd smirk on his face.
As Warick stared at the wounded brother he saw that he began to speek and move a bit. Quickly Warick got up and ran to his comerades side. "Here, brother. Drink." Warick commanded as he held the cantene out towards Jamis.
"Lento has taken him to the medical tent. He didn't seem too happy to be going there either",
"Jamis, your brother is fine. He is in the medical tent. He does look rather angry though."
all of these lines were said while Jamis was lying on the ground and yet there was no response or none saying to take him to Buliwyf. This is what I meant earlier by more flexibilty, creativity, and information. None of the rest of us have any idea what we are supposed to do. With all of these lines said at anytime the phrase "take me to him" could have been mentioned, instead of waiting for someone to say "let me take you to him". since Jetrall and Elfen are the leaders I think they need to be more straight forward with the progression of the story rather than leaving 1 line as a clue Otherwise none of us will know what is ok to do to help progress the story and what is not ok. I was half way waiting forthe army to come back to life and we would have to fight them again as zombies but I couldnt say "look over there they are coming back to life" ans in that way i was afraid to say "here jamis, lets get you up and looked at over here in this tent with your brother." I am afraid to try to progress the story because I don't know what the story is. but now that i know that this is what i am looking for to progress I can start looking for clues left behind by Jamis and Buliwyf

Maybe next time we are in a battle field we could put a heading like:
Day 4, Cold Planes, 125 miles from Rouge Encampment.
Even though I for one am not confused, it just might help out some of the other people who are a bit confused.

I didn't realize that we were that close to Tristram. Now that I know where we are, I'm even more excited to see where this all goes.

Appologies are not necessary. All I ask is that we learn from our experiences and do our best to make this work.
